Couldn’t agree more Daz, I’ve texted almost all my customers the evening before my jobs, with the exception of elderly people who don’t text so I give them a phone call. Saves so much aggravation!
Another sensible video. Nice to see someone who takes his business seriously and goes out of his way to actually help the customer. I've built my own successful window cleaning business, through a friendly, professional approach. ( I don't treat my customers as just numbers) that's why I often have a quick chat when I turn up at theirs to clean.
Wise words as always Darren. I am just sending my textlocal message for tomorrows work while listening to your vid and got an immediate reply from a customer saying they are currently away. Replied, and added to next weeks work now. No wasted job, the customer moved to a better cleaning day, no wasted diesel traveling, and an easier day for me with some catchup work from last weeks bad weather dark nights and limited working hours. The cost a whole 5p
If you use Squeegee app squeeg.ee you can use your phones free texts to bulk remind customers as well
Great video as usual. I Had it happen yesterday. I texted the night before then got a text just as I was leaving the house in the morning asking if I could leave it until the week before Christmas to which I replied I wouldn't be in the area so could not do. She is now having it done at the next scheduled time in the new year.
Thanks for the mention as always 👍
I totally agree with you Darren, my customers always say it’s so nice to have a window cleaner who lets them know I’m coming so goes down very well, also to anyone who’s not heard of Darren’s lead generation service then I highly recommend it, it’s gold dust to building your business weather it be just starting out or established, it’s a very quick way of building and Darren does exactly what he says, there’s no quicker way in my opinion, will defiantly use again in the new year
Spot on Darren. We do exactly the same; for all the reasons you've outlined. Everyone knows where they stand and the customers worth keeping take our business, our time and our professionalism seriously.
We are very polite and friendly but we we will tolerate very little c..p from those few that try to mess .
⚓🙂
Very true I like you get lots of customers just because they have heard I text the night before and clean regularly as agreed. Yeah you get the odd reply saying leave it this time but normally a good reason and if they mess too often just replace with better. Thanks for the video Darren
Great video Darren thanks.
Spot on. Sound advice as always
Great stuff as usual
Great video Great advice.
Enjoyed the video mate
We use our text service daily for locked gates and for customers who leave money out in a discussed safe place.
I agree with 90% of that video Darren, the only part I don't is this....when I go abroad, my mobile provider changes and my UK tariff is replaced with the local countries....this means although I do get texts and voicemail etc...I won't reply as it costs ME the receiver an absolute fortune. Maybe this is what your customer did ? Yes she could have text you before going away but as she never, I think maybe she didn't want to incur the charges !
Keep up the good videos ;)

You mobile by euro law will work in all euro countries without 'roaming' charges. If they are still charging you challenge this. When we travel to Asia Vodaphone charge £5 per day supplemental fee to use phone as normal.
@@Darren-Green probably because we go to Turkey that we get this.
hi darren love your videos mate. i was cleaning windows 25 years ago. traditional cleaning with ladders. im looking at starting up again soon. ive got 5 grand to spare for gear. any suggestions please.

Spot on advice . I'm sure yourself Darren or the other lads subscribed use Textlocal for customer reminders? Fantastic little app..... 🤟
HAve used text local in the past however Squeegee App allows you to use your mobiles free text service to message customers.
@@Darren-Green I'll have a look at that. 🤟
Hi Darren, great video as always! Apologies if you have already covered this query in other comments and I've missed it but can you recommend any software/app to manage my client base and notifications? Just starting out and want to try and achieve a smooth start as possible, your videos have taught me a hell of alot so far! Thanks in advance, Jon
Goto squeeg.ee
hi Darren, great videos, would you recommend any sites to buy window cleaning gear, thank you :)
We use Water Works in Corby or The Cleaning Warehouse in Wolverhampton.
@@Darren-Green thank you , much appreciated :)
Is this handy for dog walkers?
Hi Darren, I was wondering what RO system you use?
4040 from The Cleaning Warehouse.
Good Morning - text are very important always I send it but I know a lot of company don't. Question...how do you quote for post building window cleaning inside and outside? Have a busy day :-)
We do not get involved with builders cleaning. Too much hassle.
Do it to all my customers and it means closed windows open gates and happy customers who arent suprised when you show up. Should be standard for our industry in my opinion.
If a customer skips a month do you charge a higher price for for the bigger interval?
Not if it's a once in a blue moon, holiday, family crisis etc however if they make it habit then they get a reschedule lecture and a price hike.
How many houses is a reasonable target in a day
How long is a piece of string? Depends on house size travel time between jobs and how efficent you are. 3 bed semis for us is 30 a day.
I use watsapp.. you know when they’ve read your message by the blue ticks 👍🏼
Do you find most customers use WhatsApp ?
Yes mate , even the oldies use it 👍🏼
We also use whats app with a lot of new customers wanting quotes so they can send pics of front and back. Save a site visit just to quote.
@@SANDYBANK1000 Will give that ago thanks : > )
@@Darren-Green Good tip thanks Darren. Try Google earth is good for checking out possible access issues.
How did you get on with her in the end?
She accepted everything I said and we did return to do the rear of the property yesterday.
@@Darren-Green credit to you for showing the ugly side of business. We all have those type of customers am sure this advice will help me deal with them in the future 👍.
Happy Days ✌️😎
Some really bad clustomer out there. They will walk all over you if you let them.
Paulo Wolfgang just bin them off mate plenty more out there
You reckon you might get a razor for Xmas Darren?
This song isn't about me. Don't need a razor. 😁
Imagine if tesco delivered £80 worth of.shopping to your door without asking you first. I don't know how anyone can run a business without texting. I've gained customers because they don't know when they're old window cleaner comes. Works both ways
Can someone explain why she wanted the next clean for free? Makes no sense?
She wanted it free because she felt 'entitled'' (as many unfortunately di these days)
Didn't happen though. 😉
@@Darren-Green that's the red type customwr you would sack off? Or yellow?
Reds get sacked.. yellows get last chance on new terms.
@@Darren-Green thanks again Darren take care mate
