    Hey @The Tech tank
    Discovered your channel just over a week ago when i was looking for some reviews about this headset. Long story short, this video made me buy the headset :D
    Thank you for this good detailed review !
    The only minor part for me currently for this headset is when there is no audio being played and you turn on some music, it takes about a second or two before the audio is blasting through the headset. Only happens when i have had no audio play at all for about a minute. So not a big deal, its acceptable though a minor point still. I did pay about almost half off the price for this headset (200€ instead of 300-350) so for that money they are worth it.
    Looking forwards to more vids from you man, and you got yourself a new subscriber ;)
    Keep on blasting some In Flames brother \m/

      That's awesome, man! That discount especially so. And I appreciate the kind words! I also noticed that there's a bit of a delay for the audio to kick in sometimes, usually when I have multiple devices connected at a time - like the headset has trouble figuring out which source to use. Other than that, I've also noticed that sound takes a second or two to kick in if I haven't had anything playing in a while. Weird. Hopefully something a software update can fix soon.

      @@TheTechTank I have been using the headset for about two weeks now. I love the sound in 2.0 but my god, what in god's name is wrong with the 7.1? it sounds like it is in fixed position, cannot get surround sound at all and the quality it terrible. The 2.0 is really very good. I have been back and forth with Epos to try and figure out why the sound is so bad without success so far.

    This is an excellent review man - thank you for putting this out! A lot of the EPOS 370/670 reviews are 2 years old and complain about the software. Glad to see a newerish review. From what I've read, the software is much better now and any connection issues with the dongle are pretty much resolved. Would you agree? Are you still using these today?

    • @TheTechTank
      @TheTechTank  Před rokem +6

      Really appreciate that, dude! I've been using this headset as my daily driver ever since I put the video out. I haven't really had any issues with the software at all, just minor connection issues with the dongle. Sometimes the headset doesn't connect to the dongle as fast as it should or even at all sometimes, but I traced the issue to a wonky USB port. After switching the dongle to a different port it's been smooth sailing.

      Nice, I just recently spent some time with the 370s and it's great. Audio quality isn't on the same level as the 670 IMO (bass is a little overpowering for my liking), but still good, and the battery life is insane.

    • @TheTechTank
      @TheTechTank  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks! There's noticeable clamping pressure on both sides, primarily behind the top of my ears. The pressure can be adjusted with the sliders in the headband, but it's still somewhat noticeable. It doesn't bother me much, and the pressure is about the same as on other headsets I've used, but if you're that sensitive to it then you might want to look at a different set.

  • @DiViNiTY1337
    @DiViNiTY1337 Před 2 lety +18

    I have both the 670's and the 370's, and I choose the 370's every day - It weighs a lot less and has less clamping force, so it is much more comfortable. The volume dial is digital, it changes the Windows volume instead of the headsets itselfs volume (I prefer it, but I guess this is a preference of course). The wireless connection is much better. And the nail in the coffin is 100% the battery life. The 670's required me to charge them every other day, but here I'm sitting with the 370's for about two weeks without charging them now and they're at 68% battery still. Oh, that reminds me, it shows the battery in 1% increments, rather than the 20% increments the 670's show.
    Give them a test, I literally can't hear a difference between them, while they are much better in every other regard!

      I'm in that situation where the 670 is a lot cheaper on sale than the 370's which aren't on sale. $370 vs $249. Both look good though I would have liked that much longer play time. If the 670's pan out that might be my next pair in a few years time. Really surprised they aren't pushing the Sennheiser side it harder. It wasn't even mentioned in the online store I was browsing.

      Yeah, the software does kind of just decide when to work and when not to sometimes. Try moving the dongle to another port and set the headset as the default audio device. That usually does the trick for me. If it doesn't work after that, try turning the headset off and leave it off for a few seconds, then back on again and wait until it connects to the dongle.

      It's been less than a year, so I'm almost 100% sure they're still under the manufacturer's warranty (those are usually separate from the store warranty). Pretty much all products include a warranty card or section in the manual somewhere, so maybe just double-check. I'd reach out to Astro for contact details of your local branch, and ask them how to initiate an RMA with them. As long as you have a receipt for the purchase you're entitled to a warranty, if not from the store then from the manufacturer.

      @@TheTechTank I am actually very dissatisfied with the gsp 670s, It has a poppy connection for me like any time audio starts to play itle make a little pop noise, and youtube video audio doesn't start playing till like .6 seconds into a video every time I start a video. Voices sound robotic in games, and directional is pretty poor in comparison to my astro a50s, and the noise cancelling like you said in the video is just bad. Music sounded phenomenal and they were super comfortable. I think comfort and music is the only thing these have going for them in comparison sadly. Damn, that sucks to hear. I've had the "poppy connection" thing come up a couple of times since releasing this video, but I'm always able to fix it by disconnecting all devices from the headset except for the dongle, or moving the dongle to a new USB port and then it goes away for a couple of months. It's annoying when it happens, but luckily like I said it doesn't really happen all that much for me. Really hope it's a software issue that EPOS is working on, but it's been more than a year at this point so... As for the robotic voices and directional audio, have you thoroughly played around with the EQ and 7.1 settings yet? I've been able to perform some magic with the EQ starting with the music preset. It sounds like with that screw getting your Astro patched up should be pretty easy, so that's some comfort at least 🙃

    I bought these because my experience with the Sennheiser 373 D made me fall in love with the company ( I wish they still made them, best headset hands down). I was, however, disappointed with this one. Right out the box, it was super, super tight on my head, and it felt like my ears were being plungered.
    After I finally plugged it all in, took quite a long time to get it to actually be recognized as my audio device. It would show up as different inputs at different times, and the volume would just keep changing on its own, not to mention the mic would just stop working randomly while in game.

    I have this Headset since it came out like 4 years ago. I´m having a few issues with it honestly. First the wireless range is really bad. I can only move inside my PC room until it´s unusable. Then the software always resets to default settings everytime i shutdown my PC. So everytime i turn on the Headset, i need to open the software and set it to my custom profile. The custom profile doesn´t work at all while using my PS5 which is also a big downside for me. Also the battery life is really short compared to todays standards. Maybe my battery is already aging aswell. I feel like the Headset has like 10-12 hours at a 100% charge nowadays. And lastly the Mic quality is not that great.
    So in the recent weeks i tried a few other Headsets, namely the Razer Blackshark V2 2023 and the Beyerdynamic MMX200 and i really start to appreciate the comfort that the GSP 670 has. While the Mics on both of these headsets are truely in another league and also the batteries last like 3 or 4 times as long as the GSP 670, i miss the comfort of the Sennheiser. I really hope EPOS brings a true successor of the GSP 670 at some point. For now i think i will stick with the Beyerdynamic MMX 200 which also has great sound, an amazing mic and it looks much better in Teams meetings :D

    Mine arrived today and I think I'm going to have to send it back. The way it automatically enters a low power mode after 10 seconds of no sound happening means it misses the first half a second of sound when a sound actually starts playing which is frankly an unforgivable feature of such an expensive pair of headphones. Turning off auto sleep in the software does absolutely nothing. If I start listening to a video, I don't want the first half of the first word cut off every single time. Really disappointed.

  • @pilsnerpappa
    @pilsnerpappa Před rokem

    I know some people really hate a wire. But.... this headset with a wire... It is so much better. MUCH more punch to the base, way better mids, and the base doesn't bleed into the mids as it does with the wireless ones (which is sometimes really annoying because you won't pick up certain midrange sounds if there is a heavy base sound at the same time). There is also a significant difference with the microphone, and that is due to limitations with bandwidth with the wireless ones. So, unless you really, really, really hate a wire, buy the wired ones, the gaming experience will be so much better, and on top of that you will save 100$.

    • @TheTechTank
      @TheTechTank  Před rokem +1

      Solid advice. No matter how good a wireless pair of headphones is, I don't think it'll ever match the quality of a wired pair with somewhat similar specs. I just love the freedom and comparatively great audio quality of the 670.
