I was thinking it was going to be water-cooled headsets first during the ad... Sad!
A water cooled headset is when your wife pours a glass of water over your head because you can't hear her yelling at you while gaming 😱 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think razer have gel cooled headset tho
ahahahahahahahaa😂🤣🤣
@@shaneeslick very smart man.
Yo I commented that I had a water cooled headset as a joke then saw yours and was sad
adding rgb would increase the mic quality
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
Adding colors would make it sound better? What kinda of weed are you smoking and where can I get some?
The Thieves' Domain he was joking
Personally I like the audio/voice quality
@Joshua Steinsteen Want to swap brains pls? I want to think like you do.
"Function over form guy"
Just pretending I've never see all those RGB water cooled systems....
But RGB serves the function that you can make a disco in your room! And in addition to that you can look ridiculous infront of your friends at LANs (If they were still a thing)
Don't act like those RGB systems didn't have the best function. RGB never sacrificed function as far as I know
Phil Matic rgb might not sacrifice function, but putting pigments in your coolant, that will clog up whatever they come in contact with, definitely sacrifices pretty everything, except (maybe) optics.
My EK stuff came with rgb, and I use the one on the reservoir to show water temp. and the mono block shows cpu temp. But I dialed the brightness down as much as I could.
@@phil_matic I think it was Gamers Nexus that looked into that at some point. At least RGB ram sacrifices function if you're overclocking it. As the power draw from the RGB would hog up some of the power you throw at the RAM sticks. Which leads to lower max stable clocks at a given voltage.
@@sunlg That doesn't make any sense at all and we never said anything remotely close to that.
i really enjoy your casual professionalism. it's very refreshing and hilarious.

@Peanut Pete Yeah, old Philips thing was like a helmet :) Since I used that I can't sit straight.

@@basshead. they have good products but yes its overpriced
@Peanut Pete Indeed, sir. The good days are lost, the good days are gone.
@Peanut Pete Get a pair of California Headphone Co. Laredo's. Steel and leather construction!
"doesn't sound different" uh.. wut..? it sounds crazy better to me, am i just crazy?
plus there isn't all that background noise from his normal mic
Frosty. It is clearly better, and it’s actually very good for a wireless set. But overall it’s not great compared to wired, but it suffices for gaming.
It sounds way better than the Logitechs, but not as good as the studio mic on his shirt.
it still sounds so awful i wouldn't even consider using it, so it's *effectively* the same to me lol
Nathan William Media you aren’t crazy. The mic is better and to be honest would suffice for all gaming. I just hate that they think the raw audio from mics are the way to test it. If you hop in a party chat the audio quality is enhanced. This is where they all fail to do the reviews. I use Acrtis 7’s and the mic is clear af when in party chat. I never play without it.
Mic sounds GREAT
YOUNG JAY OMG, dude that was awesome, I've never seen any of your old videos because I'm an immigrant from middle east but I'm a super fan of you, I'm surprised that you have a massive archive of all your old videos, but thanks man you are my money saver
Tests out the microphone
"My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined"
I have been using a $12 lapel ("lavalier") microphone that clips on, for years, that sounds better than every single expensive headset. And it's the same size! Why the fuck do these headset microphones always sound so bad? I don't understand, I legitimately don't. The shittiest dinky little clip-on mic sounds better than the "audiophile" headsets that cost HUNDREDS. I. Don't. Understand.
@@jkazos The none wireless ones are nice IMHO but yeah stay the f away from wireless Sennheiser gaming Headsets.
everyone would be if he got 350$ worth headset with shitty mic $=
@@jkazos You are probably plugging them into your motherboard or sound card, and they generally have better sound processing because of the space not being restricted to inside an earcup. The mic itself is basically the same.
@@MrPruske I record the audio with a dinky little phone app. So they should just make the headset 1% bigger then! You could literally slice my phone in half and glue the halves onto the headset and it would increase the size by almost nothing. And that's a FULL PHONE'S PROCESSING POWER. I don't care what some PR engineer says about them not being able to. I would believe a cost argument, but a space argument is literal bullshit.
"it has a speaker in there, that's how it works"
This is the quality I subscribed for
"...and made to fit any head..." I expected more out of that one!
I liked the seamless transitions between the headset mic and the studio mic. That was smooth!
Thanks Jay! I've always wondered about Wireless Headsets. I think it would be awesome if you tested more and gave us some sort of rating, at least based on the Mic.

imo the MMX300 have a awesome quality mic !
Yes but also a bit unfair, they are wired cans and will sound naturally better at the cost of convenience.
I have the MMX300 (2nd gen) with the Astro Mixamp pro and holy shit the audio quality is mind blowing.
@@RGABodyBag I have had good headset before but the Beyer MMX 300 ani´t good They are GREAT - Clear and Crispy sound and together with my (old) GSX 1000 I can now hear new things in my games.
Thanks for the honest review, keep up the good work Jay!
I'm waiting for the day that there are 2 RF dongles that come with wireless headsets to separate the audio in and audio out
thought of this aswell
This is the comment I came to make as well...plenty of USB ports these days to accommodate a dual setup. Only ones who might be put off by that could be laptop/notebook users but maybe they could make the second dongle optional for quality? I thought the mic quality was better than the Corsair's and more than adequate for a lot of people.
I also wonder if they can just put 2 wireless receivers in the dongle. Usb3 is more than fast enough. It's just the single receiver that's the issue
Or instead of 2.4 GHz, use 5 GHz...
There should be enough bandwidth from a single USB 2.0, they could put two receivers in one dongle

I love Sennheiser headphones, their sound quality and comfort are great. I've owned the HD595 and HD598 and since those were stolen, I've saved up for 5 years to finally get used HD800S (saving up for the HD800 first). HD800S + Antlion ModMic is great for gaming.
I just bought the HyperX Cloud Flight headset, amazing sound quality and mic. You should definitely try them out!
I have long since discovered all gaming headsets suck, somewhere, no matter what.
Best thing was already done, get a proper set of "Good Headphones" and get an antlion mod mic. Or a full on boom arm and desktop mic.
got my Logitech G933s on sale at $40 and my $20 boon mic. I'm good lol. Full wireless mode in terms of my movement.
Yeah so many people get ripped off by companys that make a million products including headphones vs buying from a company that specializes in Audio only. They have no idea what they missing out on.
I had a chance to buy the MTH A50X. But bought the HyperX Cloud Revolver over it, even though A50X is a great headphone.
But I borrowed one from my friend and TBH it's great for music n movies.
But the drivers are so close to your ears, I don't prefer them for gaming.
using the HS70 headset wireless and the emita trust GTX mic with boom arm, it works perfecly
@@bunnybag that's another thing, not all headphones are for PC use but if you do your research you'll get the proper headphone that will blow any gaming headset out the water. I have the ATH M50 while it is clearer it's missing that base oomph along with not loud enough compared to my Astros A40
Thanks for your support! 🐾
Love your videos! Maybe with something like this you could do a combo with you and Phil sitting together and chat about this
There's still audible echo in your audio track. I know you're facing an open area while speaking to the camera. A trick I like to use is to set up a couple of large cloth photo backdrops (or blankets) on either side of the camera(s). They're easy to set up and really good at absorbing or slowing down sound waves.
Hi Jay. Love your content. Just built my first PC ever for my little brother. Your content was a god send to the process

Young jay freaked me out a little! Love the channel man! Keep it up!
So excited for the next part of the Dark Knight build!!! I love your content
Love that you're into chillhop my dude! :)
They should try setting it up as dual channel, using one for input and one for output. Switching to a higher frequency bandwidth would help as well, especially with it currently on 2.5 which means it'll get interference with any local WiFi.
Try the Jabra Evolve 75 Headset. They are daily driver for business users, but I think the mic quality is extremely good.
And me still with my Old Turtle Beach "Ear Force x12" headphone that got a decent Microphone.
Still enjoying it after all those years.
*No those headphone is not wireless.
Tell me about it! My Turtle Beach Earforce px22 is still worth it after 4 years. Been using it non-stop and its still working great.
X12's were great. I bought mine back in the day for $120 and the sound quality was better than headsets I've bought more recently that cost $200. My Recon 50's were trash in comparison. They don't even have a base controller and the cable is too short. I think Turtle Beach really cheaped out on their more modern cheap end headsets.
I’m still on the original Astro A40 TR’s. Older headphones were actually a lot better than people thought.
My $40 headset I bought a month ago has a better mic than this

but when u use the wh-1000xm3 on pc you don't get that high res audio that you get when u use it on the android right?
@@eugeniomartins9091 if you are referring to android LDAC yes that's only on android. however the LDAC codec gives the same quality as 96k over bluetooth. How can big companies get away with this false advertising? I was about to buy these for the mic. Thank you so so much Jay, loyal sub since long time.
@JayzTwoCents I just found out one of my favorite headphone manufacturers is now making a gaming line. You should check out the Audeze LCD-GX and compare them to these Sennheisers in the video.
There's also the Audeze Mobius that came out last year, and I'm pretty curious on how that compares as well.
Just got the Cooler Master MH-752. Amazing all around quality for the price point
me too, altho not wireless they are easily on par with my old Sennheiser's
I just got one too, a week ago. They're amazing for the price and they're rebranded Takstar Pro 82 with better sound stage and removable mic.👍
I also had a similar experience with the Corsair HS70. Sounds fair, headest is comfortable enough, mic is terrible.
It has me curious if the wireless modmic is any good for audio quality, since it can dedicate all of its bandwidth to the mic, rather than having to split between headphones and mic
My personal favorite is the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 (v2)
I've always liked my Corsair Void Pros. Probably not the greatest when it comes to specs, but the mic is clear and the simulated surround works great
I love Sennheisser gaming headsets... but I gave up on them after the Gaming Ones. Still on a Sennheisser headphones, but have a real mic now too.
My favourite is my Sennheiser HD700's with the GSX-1000... running in HD 24bit 96000hz. and i own it.
my favourite is that one amzn.to/2vuBBvS
My last 2 wireless headsets have been Plantronics Rig800HD & currently using Corsair Void Pro both headsets feel/work well
It's not really a wireless limitation. The Corsair Vengeance 2100 has amazing microphone quality and they're wireless 7.1 with really good sound as well. They're old but when I replaced it I went through 5 high end wireless headsets and couldn't find one with a better mic :/
I had the same problem. Went from 2100. Ended up with arctic pro wireless. Cant tell the difference

Hyper X Cloud Flight. Use them as my daily, decent sound both mic and audio.
Hyper X REVOLVER. Infinitely better headset.
Fidelio X2HR’s with V-moda boom mic and the Mayflower ARC AMP DAC. Done simple one cord unlike dual cord for mod mic. You won’t regret. Plus a wider sound stage than anything closed cans will ever provide
I have the wired version and love the sound fidelity. These headphones converted me to a Sennheiser fan. Now to just save up for some good audio cans. I've been streaming on twitch and I don't sound well too bad (it's always awkward hearing your own voice IMO), but that's b/c I'm wired and plugged into the SoundBlaster X7. I guess just another reason to not go wireless . . . yet :*(
The best gaming headset I've owned is the Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X. Not saying it's the best that's out there, but out of all of the ones I've tried, which includes some other high end ones, it's the one I prefer.
I am jealous of the Floatplane shirt

My 650's had a break in period people should keep in mind, the initial clamping force is a little rough but it does ease up pretty quickly
If it needs more bandwidth why not just use 2 dongles one for audio out and one for audio in?
I was wondering same thing
@@Tallnerdyguy it's even more annoying because the dongle isn't the limiting factor. It's the lack of a second channel. Which they could have fixed years ago.

Thank you for an informative video. I had the same problem when i gave up finding a good enough wireless headset back in the days. I gave up and ended up flogging my wallet into submission and bought a Beyer Dynamics MMX 300 wired headset. What i did not account for was the power need they had. My integrated sound card could not drive those. :( So there was not enough sound from them. I had however earlier bought on a whim a Sound Blaster ZxR... Yeah.. on a whim.. But had not installed it yet since the setup i had kibda worked and i did not want to corrupt up my setup at the time" (I used the integrated sound card on my ROG Rampage III extreme motherboard, with a Koss portapro with a mic on it. Worked quite good for me at the time, but those portapro's got wore out after a while and koss had discontinued the portapro with a mic. Anyway. Long story short. After i activated the SB ZxR with my now new headsett BD MMX 300 I've been presented for a totally new world. It's no 7 channel "surround" in those" but MAN! With the ZxR activated those are for me pure heaven. I don't have good hearing, but i love my "new* 4-5 years old " setup. I am however still locking for a wireless headset with good mic. So thank you for making this video. :)

Audio Technica ATG or Sennehsier HD6xx are my two and loved them, came from shitty razer / turtle beach / hyper x headsets that have horrible microphones.
how about the audio itself difference, is it big?
@CoDGplays if you don't like clip ons (and your headset has a 3.5mm detachable cable), get a v moda boompro mic.
@CoDGplays for you maybe, I like the 53mm driver size on the audio technica for fps but the sound quality on my sennheisers for everyday use. I use The Element for my amp.
@@acraze2287 the audio itself is a huge difference, my audio technica's are a closed headphone, great for fps and the sound stage is massive, that's why summits probably wears them. And the sennheisers are open back, great for music and long term use for comfort.
@@acraze2287 They are different beasts in terms of sound. Audio Technica ATH series are closed-back and Sennheiser HD series are open-back design. They both deliver great audio quality, but its like comparing apples to oranges. When it comes to closed-back vs open-back it's all about preference. You can probably read online about the difference in sound profile between the two designs but I think it's something you have to try for yourself to decide.
If you have never tried either brand before (or any other high quality headphones for that matter) they will both amaze you in terms of sound quality.
When the headset is installed on a PC there are two output devices Headset (Game) and Headset (Voice). You set windows default output to Headset (Game) and then set chat programs, like Discord, to Headset (Voice). Then that voice control knob is only controlling the voice of the secondary source. Astro headset do the same thing.
I currently have the Razer Tiamat 7.1v2, the speakers are good after installing a sound card and using Equalizer Apo but the microphone sucks as usual for most gaming headsets. So I got a Blue Yeticaster Microphone which is amazing and worth the price. You will never have to worry about getting a mic on a gaming headset that might be good or bad!
So Logitech just released a new set claiming to have "broadcast quality" in the mic...partnered with Blue the Logitech G PRO X
The only part of that mic that is Blue, is the software and not the hardware. 😔
The worst thing you can do when reviewing headphones sound quality is use streamed music 😂
Yes, but the question is more about the quality of the mic. Sennheiser drivers have a good reputation so even lower end Sennheiser products will beat other brands. Their dedicated mics are very good. This head set doesn't do their mics justice.
Nathan Woo yeah like he said, the problem is the bandwidth left on BT is not enough for the full spectrum of sound. I was wondering why they all sound like ass!
I gave up on finding a wireless headset with both decent audio and microphone. I just ended up getting a decent USB microphone that sits on my desk for recording audio. and then use the noise-canceling Sony WH-10000XM2. I like them because I can use them at the office easily since they were the first company I know to do an easy way to let ambient noise through for when you needed to talk with someone. Probably won't change them out till the batteries stop holding a charge because overall they work really well.

"Digressing as usual. :)" So why are your here ? Leave and have a nice day.
You have to consider that not all viewers only care about mic quality. So of course he has to cater that
Opposite .. I can't stand leather or pleather (fake leather) AKA vinyl plastics on my ear. Only cloth breaths enough.
same. fabric cloth ear cups are the most breathable ones out of all. also because I live in a hot and humid area so leather or pleather is not going to cut it for me.
I like velour cups personally.
I'm actually really thankful for this video - I'm in the market to replace my wireless Logitech headset for exactly this issue with microphone quality, and the great take-away I got from this is; wireless gaming headsets will have poor microphone quality. It sucks because my life is a cable mismanagement nightmare but as a streamer I need a good quality microphone.
Jay, I have a recommendation for a headset. Now I do not have the wireless version, but I am currently using the Corsair Void Pro Gaming usb headset. I have done several recordings with them and the mic sounds better then most other headsets I have used in the $50-$100 range. Some logitec and a few sony brands I have owned in the past. My last headset before these were the Turtle Beach P22. I have not really experienced any "high-end" microphones in the past, but for cost these seem to be better then the ones I have used. The wireless version of the Corsair Void Pro Gaming uses the same tech but wireless. So I cant say that the bandwidth wont be an issue, but the mic is normally good if not hindered by bandwidth. In the advanced properties I am using 2 channel, 16 bit, at 48,000Hz. if that helps with you decision. When paired with iCue software from Corsair the customization is pretty good for fine tuning the lights and the sound from the audio drivers.
If you're on pc get a good sounding headphones/headset and buy a good quality mic
