Dear Hattie, she seemed like such a nice and talented lady who deserved much more credit as a actress then she was given. Frankie was and still is a comedy icon who injected some life into the Carry Ons if only we saw him in more. Someone we did see a lot of in more ways then one was Barbara who seemed as bubbly in real life as she was on screen. Who knows what life would have been like if Sid and Barbara werent married.

MsFanmail, I agree, they were of their time and I hope they don't make a new one this year (2017) like I keep hearing. It sounds like a remake anyway, I mean, a title like, ''Carry on Doctors'' and another to follow called, ''Carry on Campus'' This could ruin the whole franchise with a complete new cast and diminish the memory of the fabulous classic film series.

Love the carry on films, still so funny even now. Such tragic lives, wasted talent and genius. Sid James was always my favourite, that dirty laugh!

It’s a shame Hattie wasn’t allowed to reach her potential. It just proves the the British film industry was as shallow as Hollywood.

We don’t want to know about his private life we want to know about his acting. I hate when people dig the dirt when someone is no longer here

“I know they were all gay but” why are you saying that like that’s a bad thing you stupid raspberry

  • @rockrollgaryglitter1747

I distinctly remember it, but it's the early black & white film with the daffodil joke. There's a famous scene where they asked him to do a operation & they all kept laughing because of the laughing gas

The daffodil joke involved Wilfred Hyde White in Carry on Nurse (1959). Frankie Howard was not in this film.

It's daft to say frankie did not appear in the carry on films until 68 when in fact he appeared much earlier in carry on nurse, when they were still being made in black & white

He was involved in a £6 million robbery at Security Express, and went on the run to the Costa del Sol. He returned voluntarily and went to prison (don't know how long for).
