Getting Unfriended

- The plaintiff used to be best friends with the defendant, but everything changed when they moved in together. She says the defendant started developing a lifestyle she didn’t like, and then the defendant moved out. The plaintiff is suing for unpaid rent because she claims the defendant left her high and dry without rent. The defendant argues the plaintiff’s boyfriend lived there without ever contributing, and she gave ample notice, so she doesn’t owe.
#PeoplesCourt #RealityTV #Court - Zábava
The plaintiff was dead wrong for having her boyfriend there so much. She seems spoiled and entitled.
💯
SO THE DEFENDANT SAID. SHE'S JUST JEALOUS & ENVIOUS OF THE PLAINTIFF BECAUSE HER FATHER PAYS HER EXPENSES & SHE HAS TO WK ALLL THOSE HRS
Especially in a one bedroom house with a dog …
@@msfranklin2650why are you screaming?
@@msfranklin2650
I’d be uncomfortable AND uneasy with my roommates man in my intimate space where I sleep. The daughter should have asked her dad to pay for a hotel a couple of nights so she could enjoy privacy with her bf. It’s about decency and comfortability.
Almost 1,000$ to share a room with someone is insane
with 2
@@layal3018 I misunderstood your comment at first lol, and yeah especially paying 1,000$ to have to sleep in a bedroom with a couple is extra insane.
Yeah, either the boyfriend needs to pony up or they need to have an OnlyFans page or something.
Sharing a room? The room is too crowded already with a dog to have to deal with a boyfriend on any night! That's crazy! 😮
@@martinboyle9163 oh yeah we can’t forget the dog as well! And it’s a puppy at that!! Yeah there’s just no way. You can get a 2 bedroom apartment here for 900$ a month.
@@martinboyle9163only a perv like you would mention OnlyFans 😂
Am I just old fashioned. As a parent, if I’m paying for school, I’m not paying rent so that you can live with your boyfriend at age 19.
She getting pounded
So right!
Exactly!
I'm with you.
Plus daddy was paying all her expenses which is gross because she will never learn responsibility when she has dad to fall back on.
@@jennross6466 Somebody's dad doing their job by paying their student daughter's expenses is "gross"!? Bitter much because your daddy was a deadbeat...
If I'm sharing a room with someone, I would NOT be okay with their significant other spending the night all the time! That's so awkward and creepy!
Well if there were separate bedrooms, that would be one thing, perhaps. But all three of them sleeping in the same bedroom?
I feel for the defendant. A college student working 70 hours a week is insane. The claimant didn’t have to work, got to relax and couldn’t have her boyfriend over when the defendant was at work they wanted to invade her space when she was tired.
I think the defendant just felt bad about saying anything about the bf. When plaintiff started bitching about the cleaning, that's when defendant said enough. Everyone knows the bf moved in, immediately.
It sounds like the defendant had a lot of resentment towards the plaintiff. She was working 13 hours a day and receiving texts about dishes in the sink from someone who didn't work as much as her because they had a father to pay their bills. She wanted her friend to be more considerate that after a 13-hour shift and school, she only wanted to rest and not see her boyfriend.
@@Nevaeh1 the boyfriend also seems to be the defendants ex boyfriend.
@@Nevaeh1 I bet part of those dirty dishes belonged to the boyfriend.
I don't understand why the boyfriend stayed with her, if he had his own place, why didn't she stay with him? I don't think I would want to be in a bed, in the same room, right next to two people doing things...
Sorry but that plaintiff is a liar.
She knows that guy was there ALL the time, eating the food and showering. And for her to be in there doing stuff with the defendant having to listen to it in a one-bedroom, instead of just going to his place that he had is just gross. How is that not constructively evicting the defendant? It's no coincidence he now moved in because he was already living there.
Agree with you both! She complained in February agreed to stay until May and gave plenty of notice about her issue with the bf being there. If you want to shack up with your man have him pay half.
She seems very bossy or controlling. The way she signaled to her dad when they were first walking in….like she was either telling him hurry up, go first, or open the door for me. But she’s young. I think she’ll look back and regret her actions. She’s a neat freak now, just wait till she has kids.
The boyfriend is a typical bum, he couldn't even support her in Court.
@@Shellygrrl2573 I agree. Also, it's crazy to me that the plaintiff's father is proud of his daughter and supportive in every way--including paying her rent so she could play house with her current boyfriend.
I know I'm a dinosaur, but back in my day a woman's virtue meant something, and a daughter whose virtue was so worthless that she gave it away for free would be a source of great shame and parenting failure.
Why would you have a boyfriend over on a one bedroom smh that’s silly
At the end why the dad tried to touch his daughter's behind? I seen that 😮
When I was in college kids did this all the time. I never understood how you get your freak on with someone 2 feet away.
@@demarioda1 I couldn't do that & I'm 33 yrs old. I'd like to be in a private special place with my lover

If the boyfriend was there most of the time, she shouldn't have had to pay all of it. Maybe a third.
Not mandatory since his name isn't on the lease. The plaintiff most likely blind sided the defendant with the good ole "surprise boyfriend"... As good friends, they could've all gotten together and come up with a new payment plan but they are not legally obliged to do so.
@@manuelsoares9698 Ya. In the future, if the roommate brings a bf more than 2 night a week, the second week there should be a conversation about it. I would have a talk or text to the roommate saying you aren't okay paying for additional person living there.
"only 2 times a week " well thats almost 1/3 of the month if she was honest
the plaintiff is disgusting
Two times a wk is still too much. One time a wk is too much. I don't want to hear that. Go to his room or a hotel or someplace else.
I'm sorry, but even in this day and age, having your father sit there and listen to you talk about your sex life had to be awkward.
Dad goes to touch her butt at 12:48, so...

Had to laugh at the Judge, too. The dad sitting right there-- "You KNOW what I'm asking you, right?" *Insert "how often did you and the BF bump uglies in the apartment" face.*

If I may... those drama queens, paying $910 each to share a one bedroom... should NEVER hae gotten a dog.
Exactly…. Such a ridiculous idea (poor dog!)
Real rational thinking! Women are known for that!!😂
@@davidperez5089lol, as a woman I concur 😂
@davidperez5089 I believe the defendant said the plaintiff's uncle paid for the dog and accompanied them while getting it. I guess you meant to say both men and women aren't very rational. 😂 Don't be ignorant. These poor choices have nothing to do with gender. 🤦🏾♀️

2:04 $910 EACH?! To share one bedroom?! Holy..
That is dirt cheap for the area. Like dirt dirt cheap.
@@xExplosionsofAwesomethe show was filmed many years ago. Today it would probably be closer to $1600 each to share a bedroom.
IKR!!! 😮That's rent for a 3 bedroom home here in Sacramento California!😂
It ain’t North Dakota, that is for sure.
Judge Judy would’ve made the boyfriend pay 1/3 of the rent. The defendant had texts messages proving he was there several days a week.
The plaintiff is totally passive/ aggress🤨
Sharing a 1 bedroom for over 1k a month is ridiculous and on top of that if her BF had his own place, why was he there at all??
Because that's what ppl do when they are dating. I'm surprised at how many ppl in these comments don't seem to realize or know this.
@@theonlyairconditioner there is another roommate that you have to consider in this case...in a 1 BEDROOM. I'm pretty sure the bf was there more than twice a week, so he needs to be paying 1/3 of the rent. But to cut all that out, since he has a place of his own, she should have been going to his place. Better yet they should've been roommates...but seems like he was the ex bf of the defendant at one point also. Not understanding how you don't realize and know that but common sense ain't so common, so there's that 🤷🏽♀️
The plaintiff made the place uninhabitable once she moved the boyfriend into the one room they shared. Which was stupid AF. She should be stuck with the rent. The defendant shouldn't have to tell her she uncomfortable. Common sense judge. I wouldn't give her a dime even after the ruling.
I kind of disagree with the judge on this one I think the text messages of the defendant complaining about the boyfriend being there all the time in advance should have been enough either for her to get out of the lease or the boyfriend to be obligated to pay a third of the rent the defendant admitted in the hallway that her boyfriend stayed there two times a week we all know if she's willing to admit to two days a week it's probably double or triple that
I just don't understand why anyone would accept having someone's boyfriend stay in a place where their name is on the lease. Thank God I have always opted not having roommates. After living in a dorm I understood quickly that I am not the type of person that's quickly to tolerate nonsense from anyone. The plaintiff is your typical entitled daddy's girl who thinks it's ok to burden other people with their living style. What a piece of work. JM should have only ordered the defendant to pay for a 3rd of the rent.
That boyfriend lived there and the defendant didn't like it but she didn't want to confront the plaintiff. The judge didn't take into consideration the age of the defendant. And we all know the boyfriend moved in the day after the defendant moved out.
The plaintiff and her boyfriend took advantage of that student.
Not a good judgement.
$1820 for a one bedroom apartment?! Heck nah.

We all know the boyfriend was there more than 2 a week. Who do these children think they're fooling?
Why would the defendant lie and minimize how often he was there if she was trying to use that as a criticism…? The defendant wants to make the plaintiff look bad…
Right then talking about he has a full time job! Well he was there right after he clocked out 😂😂
This judge is no Judge Judy. That plaintiff broke the lease when her boyfriend was there everyday.
??? They didn't go to Judge Judy, they went to The People's Court. There was no proof of Constructive Eviction, the girls had drama and instead of working it out or getting something written releasing one of them from the lease they decided to not communicate.

If I’m sharing a room with her… no bf sleeping there with US!
Her boyfriend shouldn't have been there. Not 2 days and not 1 day. No days. Its a 1 bedroom apartment with a dog. This is a sad case of a spoiled little girl whom gets what she wants. Her Daddy even came to court and Daddy paid the rent. This poor other girl just got set back $2300.00 when at the end her roomate moved in the boyfriend.
The plaintiff should have just stayed in her boyfriend’s parent’s basement where he’ll be living until he’s 40. Playing video games. MEATLOAF!!!
Judge Millian seems to correct her litigants a lot when they are being respectful. When someone says, "Yes ma'am", she says, "Don't call me that," when someone asks, "If I may" she says, "Don't ask me that." I was raised to always be respectful and "yes ma'am" and "If I may" shows respect. Anyhoo, she's my favorite judge and I can't get enough of her episodes. She is the reason cash never leaves one hand without a receipt in the other hand ❤
The plaintiff was wrong for having her bf there so often. Why would you do your friend like that knowing y’all are sharing a room.
I feel bad for the defendant it looks like she wanted to cry
Not sure judge is right, what about right to privacy and enjoyment of place of residency? Feel she was pushed out by lack of same, similar experience here.

The new boyfriend she moved in and was boning IN THE ROOM SHE SHARED WITH THE ROOMMATE, was the roommate's EX?!?!?

Having her boyfriend over 3 times a week is unreasonable. Twice a month, maybe.
Subletting a 1bedroom is crazy
The dog is the real victim
Plaintiff walked in. Immediatly I can tell she is spoiled and thinks she looks oh so fabulous. NO
She should have stayed till September and made a rule the boyfriend couldn't be there
A boyfriend staying over in a living situation like that is a nonstarter for any reasonable person, ...they should have opted for a hotel a few nights instead.
First, this is exactly why I would never move in with a friend/cousin or do anything with them that involves money and agreements. I know I’m a clean freak to and don’t like dealing with lazy people who don’t clean up right after themselves.
Second, I would be so uncomfortable if my friend has her boyfriend sleeping in the same room as us almost every night! I would never put my friend in that awkward position to. Disrespectful and very uncomfortable.
I think what the defendant was really trying to explain to the judge is that the mess was also the boyfriend since he sleeps, eats, and showers there whenever he’s over.
Agree. I've had ex in laws stay for a short period of time. I don't mind someone having to do laundry or shower of course but it starts to get overwhelming and some take advantage. Having a roommate can be tough, I couldn't ever do it because of myself. Just how I am. Also, I agree about the boyfriend. Even if it was a friend it's just rude.
The boyfriend was trying to get over on her😂😢
Honestly, the plaintiff FORCED OUT the defendant.
he didnt stay often 3 nights a week, i call that often princess!
Reallllly stupid of the uncle to buy them a dog.
Rent $ among friends seems to be a common problem in today's society. Be careful who you cohabitate with and split rent.
That’s bs the defendant shouldn’t have to pay when the plaintiff moved her bf in as another tenant. This judge doesn’t always get it right
I learned something new on this one!
Why is the plaintiff wearing that tacky winter scarf with a summer dress?
She wants to come off as nerdy😂
I own rental properties in a college town. The reason students share bedrooms is because in college towns housing is very expensive, very hard to find, students have little money, and most landlords don't like renting to college students due to no rental history, low credit scores, the fear of too much partying, and damages to the apartment. I've heard stories of two bunkbeds per room including two bunkbeds in the living room. That's 4 people per room. So, a two-bedroom apartment would have 12 people. Nowadays, most leases restrict the number of people who can live in the apartment to only those on the lease. Leases also limit the number of overnight guest(s) stays to about 24 days a year specifically to avoid students moving in other students (to further split the rent) and then "claiming" they are only visitors.
The judge not taking the boyfriend being over all the time seriously wasn’t fair. They share a room and the boyfriend is there too? That sounds like a constructive eviction to me.
It must have been embarrassing for that father to be dragged to court only to find out how many times a week his daughter was getting laid lol
boyfriend staying over twice a week is way too much.
First person i’ve seen lowkey eat doug up and have the last word lmaoooo
Sounds as if this insane judge is siding with this plaintiff. Scolding the defendant who works 70 hours a week and goes to school.
Try not to roommate if possible
What complex is this $1800 should be 3 rooms not 1!
that’s BS, she should be obligated to pay to shack up with this girl and her boyfriend.
This judge is insane. The defendant tried everything to deal with moving out. What is wrong with her.
ohhhh this is exhausting
Get the boyfriend to pay half the rent 🤷♀️
Why don’t ppl watch previous cases to know if they can win or not before coming to the show?
Nope. The problem is one girl has money and the other does not. She can be entitled but she should not pay for it.
I asked my roommate, why do you never tidy up
the place and he said, because you always do it.
If the school session ended in May, wouldn't they both be moving out any way?
Isn't that how student apartments work?
I sincerely do not know.
No - leases are still 12 months from Aug 1st to July 31st. Then when non renewals move out on the 31st, the complex does one big turn in about 3 weeks and new move ins come like the 3rd week of August. The complex needs to do this in order to be making money year round or there would be no money coming in for the summer months. Former Student Housing PM here😊
I have rentals in a college town. The two girls were sophomores, meaning they both had two years of college remaining. In most college towns housing is so hard to find that students will often stay in the apartment until they graduate. But consider this. Let's say one is a senior and the other is a junior. The senior may move out after graduation, but the junior still has another year so she may want/need to stay until she graduates.
I always went to summer school, too. Great way to knock out a few hours.
I don't think this was college housing but more so just a regular apt they leased for the school year. So normally a lease would be for 6 or 12 months. And they also probably didn't plan on going home for the summer.
Crazy to share a room for $1000 and have the roommate letting boyfriend sleep over. Daddy let your girl grow up. Your paying your 19 year old rent for her boyfriend to sleep over. Way entitled.
7:16 is she saying she is boning the same boyfriend? Meaning her friend ex?😅
good question,
That is what it sounded like to me. Hence the gasps from the audience.
Why should she had to share her room with her ex boyfriend who is now the friend's boyfriend?
Lord if I have to watch that Hertz commercial with Brady every time I watch these videos I’m gonna stick a pen in my eye.
I guarantee when I was in college I would not have put up with a roommate having her boyfriend sleep over in our shared bedroom... or even in a 2BR for that matter.
‘He wasn’t there that much.’
No, he was there exactly that much. That much being enough for someone NOT on the lease to cause distress to the other person ACTUALLY ON the lease.
But nobody died. And the defendant is still infinitely sexier than the other one.

If the boyfriend was there most of the time I think you should pay for it and I don't think the judge is paying attention to that
Simple..if you share a room, no boyfriend/girlfriend sleepovers. If you have your own romm, then see if the other roommate is alright with occasional sleepovers. Otherwise...court you go.
The plaintiff is entitled. She should NOT have had her boyfriend there at all and the defendant should not have accepted it..unless they were all having sex together.
