- The plaintiff, a hair salon owner, alleges the defendant bought the building she used and jacked up the rent. The plaintiff refused to sign a new lease and claims the defendant didn’t return the security deposit, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues that the plaintiff left without notice, and he doesn’t owe her a dime.
Case #27225
#PeoplesCourt #RealityTV #Court - Zábava
I appreciate how the judge corrected the defendant’s son about his conduct in the court room and held him to a higher standard because of his profession.
Due to the fact, she comes from a family that did construction, her father and her brothers.
I don’t think the son is a very good lawyer if he really is one at all. He doesn’t know how to send a letter or how to behave in a court room or get his dad to control himself properly either.
The times I have seen lawyers on here, she really puts the screws to them if they do anything wrong. She expects more from them. She's the best
I doubt he is a lawyer. A lawyer would NEVER act like that in court.
@@daymonninThat’s not a “real” courtroom! In real courtroom ,even the judge has no right to behave the way she does at times!🤦♀️😆
I love it when JM puts a lawyer in their place when they misbehave in court 😂
I don't. Misbehaving is nothing....
Love how JM called her out for playing victim. 👏
I didn't. JM is often rude and disrespectful to other women.
Yes, I liked that too.
Rightt, I was hoping she let her know that we know she's full of 💩. She didn't want to take accountability for anything it became so annoying. Using her father's death & femininity to get over.
@@barbarat5729She’s also that way to men. If she calls women out for being victims unfairly, that’s sexist. If she doesn’t call them out when they deserve to be called out, that is also sexist. Can’t have it both ways. She is rude to both men and women equally
@@barbarat5729 Only when they are more attractive than she is. When the woman said her Dad passed no "I'm sorry to hear that". When the man said he had a heart attack she said it.
"You had to prove your case, I'm sorry but you didn't do it, so it's your own fault" 🤣😂😂
If rubbing salt into gaping wounds were an Olympic sport, Doug would be a gold medalist.
Lies can’t keep it together. Congratulations the wrong people constantly, grops women, and shakes his he as people walk away making lite of the judges profession.
I love Doug. His game is so strong I always feel those burns lol
Plaintiff was SHOCKED when her crocodile tears didn't work. She's been goin her whole life getting whatever she wanted by just turning on the water works. JM wasn't havin it!
do you know her personally?
But you must with how we can see your need to defend a lying manipulative princess type. You must see something familiar within yourself huh
It clearly didn’t work on the defendant 😂
I am so glad the judge called the plaintiff out on her victim card BS.
She left without giving notice, claiming fear of the defendant as an excuse to get out of paying rent. Her credibility was also diminished when it was revealed that she endorsed the check she claimed she gave them.
Crazy case. Why was she suing them!? Of course, they kept her $3000 security. No 30 days notice and left tons of junk there that they had to pay to remove.
And claimed she reported the ceiling damage from a water leak.
Totally! I was so surprised that she was that brazen to hire basically herself to fix her roof then charge the landlord to pay her!
" the way you go about things is a little funny " i thought the same when she walked completely around the stand 😂
Lol I had to go back
I played it twice yeah 🤣
😅
I noticed that also
CHIAL U SEENST THAT AS WELL...BWAHAHAHA
She cashed her own check, so like the defendants said, no work had been done, did she really think she could get away with that HUGE lie. The defendant's son might be a lawyer, but he has a lot to learn about self-control, and he lied about sending her that letter, hence the reason it wasn't sent registered. Neither side came with clean hands...
The son is still a young lawyer, but I would also be passionate in the defense of my parent. Also, there’s no proof that he lied about sending the letter. He simply can’t prove that he did send it. Therefore, their hands are clean.
Although he can't prove that he sent the letter because he didn't send it certified there really is no reason to believe that he lied about the letter.

Kit-kat
Month to month lease for 8 years and her first rent increase? She's making the defendant to be the bad guy but that sounds like she had a pretty good deal for a long time.
She should have left then and there lol
Maybe the neighborhood wasn't great.
Exactly!
"I don't feel sorry for you." Savage!
All of these people got on my last nerve today. From the cluelessness of the plaintiff to the constant grunts and interruptions from the defendant. I’m done.
She wasn't clueless she tried to play the part no one that's been in business over 15 years is clueless
Oh come on, the amount of times the Russian guy hit the microphone hard enough for the little foam thingy to fall off was pretty entertaining.

And you are on my last nerve, complaining and whining. It was a mediation court. Not a regular court. Get over it.
@@trekgirl65welcome to comments. Where you whine and complain about someone complaining 😂 genius
The way she walked all over the courtroom 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 so extra
I came to see if anyone said something 😂
I was just about to say that. It's always funny when people do that, lol.
Not all over, I had to rewatch the beginning cause I thought by what you said she was ALL OVER the court room sitting on the judges chair and then back to the audience...lol not a big deal at all to walk around her own table, she was just getting her bearings 🦃😋
😂😂😂I can’t believe no one in the audience laughed
I'm glad JM called her out on trying to play the victim. 🙄
Which is very rare from a feminist
@@badseedent4827Who said she's a feminist
@@badseedent4827she’s not a feminist. She’s just a woman. That’s not the same
Wow, who would have thought her getting caught faking that check "to him" would ruin her credibility?
That lady was lying her ass off 😂
12:25
She did not want to.pay a rent increase in 8 years of being there when it was sold. She isnt a victim. She signed the check that was wrote to her husbands business. Taxes and insurance rates increase every year thays why rent fluctuates. She was wrong. She probably got that letter
No, its basic lawyer 101 stuff to get a certified letter for that type of comms, and the landlord cashed the $2300, which has effect in law as type of acceptance of the $2300 as the rent where theres a dispute of what the contract is. Lawyers are held to higher degree of proof, hence why JM had a go at the son over his actions of not providing a a certified record, and she didn't believe him.
Good! The woman was really trying to play the "victim" and she did some seedy things.
thank you Judge for calling out this woman for her BS Victim carp.
She definitely is full of carp!
Yes, defendant is a fish 🐠
It's insane to put all that time and money into a place thats technically not yours.
Most businesses don't own their place of business. That doesn't mean Macy's should look like crap. It's part of doing business.
The defendant and son were annoying and the plaintiff was a bold face liar.
And there you have it 😂
“I don’t feel sorry for you. You’re not a victim” CLASSIC response for JM!!! 😂❤❤❤
She came with like she means business 😂 and totally made a complete circle around the podium
She wanted to take the scenic route.
@@drummingdanny84 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂 I saw that!!!
I am dead
Typical. You can tell she was lying. How you hire ya ex, and deposit the check into your own account 💀😂
The defendant’s son seemed to only learn a cocky attitude at St. John’s
When submitting proof of something, especially a check. You would make sure the date is showing. It was done for a reason. Must not know JM doesn't let the victim card fly
So funny "I don't feel sorry for you" Best line of any judge after someone trying to play the victim!
The defendant was thoroughly entertaining😂
I see why he had a heart attack 😂 Love him so expressive
that son "attorney" wants to be a Kardashian so bad! He was so rude and full of himself and then walked out like he was in a press conference. Chill, it was shady from start to finish
"Justice was served"
Chill bro. Your dad rents a mini mall to salons, sketchy karate gyms, mobile stores and smoke shops.
I wudnt mind him sitting on my face
Don't treat your renter or your landlord like a friend. Get EVERYTHING in writing and take pics of ANYTHING that may involve money!
It's amazing the whole check thing where she's able to show the picture of the check without the date...proof she's a liar
the son pissed me off
The plaintiff is your typical non-compliant tenant. I'm glad that the judge didn't fall for her "I'm a victim" act.
She should've gone on American Idol if she wanted to have her sob story matter.
The defendant was as big a victim as she was. A heart attack, a herniated disc, grandkids. Etc. Jesus
The judge gets upset if she’s referred to as anything other than “your honor” but she calls the plaintiff “sweetheart”
She’s the judge. I assume it’s to remind them even though she’s friendly and funny and probably some forget who she actually is and no matter what she’s in charge and earned that right to “ your honor “.
Yea I've commented on that a few times. It's irritating
No matter what she “deserves” it’s in poor taste for the judge to call a defendant “sweetheart”
@@gabesmom5615 So that means she has the right to be condescending towards the litigants?
One of my favorite cases was when JM kept condescendingly calling the defendant "honey" and he responded, "Jude my name is Dr. McCaffrey, not honey" and JM threw him out LMAO
He reminds me of my Daddy...old school manners and so outspoken
JM calling out BOTH sides!! LOVE IT!!
That was the longest entrance I’ve ever seen. She walked all the way around the podium.😂😂😂
She messed herself for not getting anything in writing and by not going by her lease.
I’ve never said this but in a normal courtroom both sides would have been shut down real quick. Both sides are not acting cute.
It was ridiculous.
The defendants are slimy.
Love this show from the start.
When she says
Thank you Douglas 👏🏼👏🏼✊🏼🙏🏼👍🏼
Keep record of every conversation between you and the landlord.
Plaintiff is lucky defendant didn't file a countersuit. She would've owed him money.
Great call on the endorsed check. She tried hiding that on purpose.
Beef it up? $575 was cheap!
This guy didn't have heart surgery, he just had a stent put on because nobody leaves the hospital in just 2 days after heart surgery. A heart attack keeps you in the hospital between 5 and 7 days. I have a personal experience on both
Lol after JM said that she didn't feel sorry for her you could see that she knew her goose was cooked lol
12:25
This is one of those cases I wish the defendant counter claimed😂
Plaintiff is wearing a cross like that's gonna help her.
If my landlord threatened that he was going to "take me out" I would leave immediately and be very afraid while I was leaving. I don't understand why that threat wasn't taken seriously.
Because she was lying
JM talks down to people. I think she has “Napoleon Syndrome” because she’s short! 😂
I mean they’re all annoying. She should’ve given notice and paid the rent. But he’s not innocent either
People think they can do whatever they want and not have anything in writing or proof for court.
When JM said I don't feel sorry for you and the defendant replied back...😅😅😅 JM was like, "You know what you're doing😂😂😂
13:30 She said he said he was going to TAKE HER OUT not get her out.
That little boy and his old man are cut from the exact piece of cloth. Wow.
I'm crazy about the judge and show. However, JM calling litigants 'sweetheart' as she does so very often kinda makes me cringe 🙄
Loved this episode lol. The damsel in distress act didn’t work, loved grandpa’s personality, and the cute dog falling asleep
She doesn't have that check and she knows it. So does the judge. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The same thing happened to me on my Auto Repair Shop and about the same prices. I moved out and the building stayed empty for 2 years. So there !
Plaintiff playing ring around the rosie when she came in 😂
So in other words, she wrote a check to herself on her,,,, as she said X husbands business account and then cashed the same check for herself. That could also be considered embezzling, especially if she can not prove that the work was done. After seeing this.. makes you wonder how many other checks she has written to herself and claiming it as an expensive on a business with an x husband.
Scammer!
American justice may have been "justice" once, but it is a joke nowadays!
Buddy at the end with the questions always talking slick.
This lady said that she built up her business from scrap 'from the ground up' YET -- she didn't know where the screen comes from 'it coud've been left up from another tenant'.
Why do people think being a small business owner means they’re special?
the more honest ones are.....
The plaintiff should have hired a 3rd party company. Looks messy when she endorses the check. Lastly the defendant is hilarious 😂
The defendant was annoying and can’t control himself
The defendants Accent is beautiful love it😂😂😂
She paid herself for work she hired someone else to do. That’s shady as hell.
She’s mad he came in and took over “her building”
Doug is a savage omgggg
Ugggh! Judge calls the plaintiff "honey" and "sweetheart," but let someone mistakenly call her miss and she freaks out. smh. Judge should show the same respect that she demands.
That plaintiff thought she was a tough cookie . Personally , if property of mine was about to be or was badly damaged by water I would be glad that the tenant took care of it before it got real serious .But only if it was done correctly .
it blows my mind that people, smart people, with the means to own properties, do not know how to execute a tight legal lease. amazing.
Judge Judy would have said "I don't care" when plaintiff spoke about how she built the hair salon. Just get to the point of the case.
The judge need to understand or know that not only Italians shaking hands, that's in many countries people do, to make deal or means take things seriously and respectfully!
And to another guy: if America is a best, work more with your "English & accents"
Good luck everyone!

This judgment was ludicrous.
Junk boy bought his degree at St. John’s.
He's already charging her $700 more than the original amount. I think he can get over the $500. What a cheap ass.
I've never seen such a long case with no proof from anyone.
Calling the plaintiff honey shows how disgraceful the judge is.
Those guys both seem like they have zero patience
She thought that cross would help her 😂😂
The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. Like father like son! Both are rude and keep interrupting. That’s their culture. So because he’s got heart and back problems as well as 4 grandchildren he’s a good guy? 😂

If she cared about the business, she should have attempted to buy the building when it was up for sale.
That's ridiculous. She's probably not rich enough to buy a building, property in New York! Not everyone is wealthy! 😂 And unless you're wealthy you couldn't afford it either!! You are aware that San Francisco, and New York city are extremely expensive!
