Monique & Derek Domestic Abuse, Ja Morant Caught With Gun Again!

  • Chile, I have hit my quota for ignorant hood booger activity for the day. Love After Lockup's Monique and Derek are down to the house fighting one another. Instead of sumo wrestling in private, they insist on making us a part of their group chat.
Ja Morant, has literally got to be the most ignorant SOB on the face of the earth. With a guaranteed 200+ million dollars on the line, this idiot gets caught yet AGAIN, brandishing a firearm in a way that is not acceptable per NBA standards. With so much money on the line, why is it that this young man is having such a hard time shaking this hood behavior? Why is he and so many other so drawn to the ghetto? Let's discuss...

I wasn’t allowed to watch it and that’s why I don’t associate with certain types of people with that “Good Times” mindset. Due to racism, poverty, and redlining, my family had to live in low income housing, i.e. the projects and THEY made it out! They instilled in me, it’s not where you start but when you end up! It was designed by systemic racist to keep us segregated from them. And those who had upward mobility to do so move out of segregated neighborhoods just like George Jefferson on The Jefferson’s. What is left is a group of marginalized people who are trapped in a vicious cycle of poverty. Most people have nothing but to have to scrape by, it’s the survival of the fittest! Eat or get eaten!

I hope this sheds some light on the mindset.
I grew up in a middle class neighborhood. My parents were business owners and very heavy in the church. My dad was super duper strict. My fiery fearless attitude was frowned upon. I was silenced and was raised to smile, look pretty and hide who you are. Well, there were some "hoodish" neighbors who took a liking to me. Whenever I was around them I felt heard and seen and I loved every minute of it. It was like a heavy weight was lifted. One day I was sexually assaulted by some boys at school. They stole my clothes and said I couldn't get it back until I slept with their friends. It was horrible.
I told the kingpins on the block what happened because I was to afraid to tell my dad. They came up to my school during the let out. I don't know what they did, but the next day the boys apologized. They would turn the corner whenever I would walk down the hallway. I,ve been drooling over hood ninjas every since.
Fast forward today. I live in the projects. 5 kids 4 kid fathers ( one has unfortunately been unalived God rest his soul)later, I want out. I had to do a lot of inner work to realize I'm grown now, I can walk in my purpose without praise from hood ninjas. It took me experiencing domestic violence in 2019 to realize I've had enough. It's not funny and I don't mean to make light of it but, I really believe that monster knocked some sense into me.

Morning Funky, I caught this video on my way into work and wanted to give a little more insight about the "hood" culture/mentality. John Morant aside, I was one that grew up in the hood but always had aspirations beyond the hood, and I succeeded.
While I was determined to grow beyond my environment, I never looked down on those who were mentally stuck there, though, because I understood.
Many fear beyond what they consider "safety" in an atmosphere of familiarity. Some who make it out feel guilty for doing so and they go around the hood and feel the need to act "regular" when they are not.
And some you can take out of the hood but not the hood out of them. And that is sad, but it's all a state of mind.
It's easy to tell the hood to pull their pants up and not sleep around. People in the hood are so used to being talked "at" they don't know how to receive when someone is talking "to" them in order to speak life to them.
I still have elder family in the hood that have been there almost as long as I have been born. I visit, and I'm not ashamed, and I say hello to those I see in passing and keep it moving...without judgment because I understand.
Don't get it confused, I am not a fan of glorifying hood culture. I came up in the time where neighbors looked out for each other and families. The elders didn't play and we didn't talk back. And as we got older we protected the elders.
Times are much different now and I just know it will take someone who genuinely cares about the people in those neighborhoods and not the money made on the backs of them in death or otherwise before a change can be seen.

Preach Funky!!! You spoke a word about Ja Morant! Monique definitely bought Derrick now he wants to shop in other stores. She has no self esteem or self worth.

Same thing with Aaron Hernandez. He wanted to stay in that hood life and that football fame at the same time. He look where it had him at.

I can't speak about Monique & Derek because I don't know them. You are so right about the hood mentality. Some Black people think that it's a right to passage to act a certain way because they are "Black". Recently, I had to tell a friend to stop acting out in public while being with me and others. What people don't realize is if something goes down, you will be unscathed; it's the ones that are in your company that will be hurt. I told my friend I would take her ass to court if something happens to me because of her foolishness. Black people, we do not own the right to act "ghetto"; it's not a "Black" thing.
