  • Chile, watch how many people comment without watching the video...
The past 2 weeks have been very tense when it comes to the discord between Black woman and the trans community. Everybody has got something to say. A trans woman got online and said that cis women are not the gatekeepers to periods and womanhood, then all hell broke loose. Jess Hilarious was one of the first major personalities to respond. From there, other popular voices like TS Madison and Angelica Ross have joined the conversation.
Whew chile... It's all been to much. I hope throw my own education, evolution, and this video, we can begin to broker some peace!

It's not just a period or a vagina. It's an intricate system with a very significant purpose. It's a uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and a cervix. It brings us pleasure and pain. Those of us that suffer with menstrual cramps, endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS etc . . . really go through it. However, it is what a woman lives with to bring life over and over and over since the beginning of time. And to hear this being minimized by someone who has not experienced it is VERY frustrating. It should be revered and respected. That is why that particular video was so offensive to women.

As a gay man of color, I have always respected and revered biological women. For T.S. Madison to make light of a women's reproductive system was appalling. T.S. a trans-woman was doing what men have been doing forever, reducing women to body parts and bodily functions. T. S wouldn't want to be reduced to reproductive parts or bodily functions, so why rant so disrespectfully about women's reproductive organs and bodily functions, particularly menstruation. There is no competition on who has been murdered and treated horribly by the patriarchal society. Both women and trans-women have been, bullied, attacked and murdered just for being who they are, especially black biological females. Please stop attacking our biological female allies. Being disdainful of their plight is selfish, callous, and just plain sexist!!

Scientists at the Stockholm Brain Institute in Sweden report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA that gay men and straight women share similar traits-most notably in the size of their brains and the activity of the amygdala-an area of the brain tied to emotion, anxiety and aggression. The same is true for heterosexual men and lesbians. This is yet another in a long series of observations showing there's a biological reason for sexual orientation," says Dean Hamer, a molecular biologist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), who was not involved in the study. Remember when it was acceptable a few years ago to tell lesbians that we should try d*ck? Well, now we are the bad guys for saying hell no. Guess what? I don’t care. I am not going to adopt their bizarre terms like “girl dick,” “transbian,” or whatever. If I’m transphobic because I will not sleep with one, I’ll be that.

Funky I honestly believe that the reason you don’t see straight men having an issue with trans men or masculine presenting women is because by nature women adapt and assimilate to their surroundings. Trans men and masculine women aren’t telling men how to be a man, what is manhood or trying to impose what they think or believe manhood should be. They become part of the community they are joining, there by adapting their norms and practices so there isn’t a reason for push back there. Then you have trans women saying things like women can’t gate keep womanhood and periods. That terms such as “people who can give birth, or chest feeders” should be used because there are trans men who can give birth as well. Women absolutely can gatekeep womanhood as were in the midst of fighting for it daily. Women are mad because till this day we are fighting to have complete agency over our bodies. And we have been fighting, especially black women, for trans right because we know the rate at which they are killed. And then hearing a trans woman say something like we can’t gatekeeper womanhood and periods, while we are fighting for us and you may piss off black women at a rate that a man will never understand.

The issue is not only biological women being labeled as ‘Cis’. We’re now being forced to have transwomen who are biologically male in women’s sports, prisons and spaces. Despite the biological and physical advantage men have over women. We’re seeing transwomen dominate swim teams yet the same cannot be said for transmen in male sports (why is that?).
Most of us women are very accepting but this has now come at our own detriment. We can no longer speak about
our own real life experiences without some transwomen trying to insert themselves and calling it ‘transphobic’ as a means to shut down any meaningful conversation. That same need to dominate and conquer that men have is still very much present in transwomen and we do not see this in trans men (they wouldn’t dare try to redefine manhood or force themselves on their spaces).
Furthermore, removing gender and sex (which are inextricably linked) outside of the context of USA. Women in some African countries are being mutilated for the very basic fact that they’re women.
So while everyone has the right to live their life as they please we cannot deny the reality of gender/sex. Everyone needs to respectfully of each others spaces and real life experiences.

It's not a Black women issue. It's an all women issue. Our beauty spaces & safe spaces are being flooded with "how can I look more feminine"..."can you tell I'm amab", daily. Spaces where women once gathered to just be women without having to see a bunch of men asking how to be more womanly. Just like men have their own spaces trans people also need their own spaces. It's okay for women to want to have spaces to themselves. Another issue is the language being used. In one breath it's "I'm a woman" and another breath is "I'm a trans woman"...pick one and stop trying on our identity. We don't get to take our identity on and off. We are women all day everyday and deal with things a trans woman would never have to. It's not that women have a problem with trans women. It's that we have a problem with not calling a spade a spade. The men don't have a problem with it because they don't have to deal with it everyday. Trans men are not taking over mens spaces, sports and accolades. But then you're not allowed to say any of that out loud because then you're transphobic.

While sexuality and gender I’d-being gay, bi, trans- is not a choice, people can choose to conceal their sexuality. History shows people have chosen to conceal their sexuality until it became safer to live your life in truth. Race is NOT the same. When I walk out the door, I cannot conceal the fact that I am black (as I cannot and do not want to pass for white). This tendency exists because they are MALES at their core! So no matter how much they want to FULLY function as women, they can NEVER let go of the patriarchal male mindset and entitlement. When I got the surgery, the doctor told me that I would probably not be able to have children due to the scarring. I remember being so depressed and I would cry myself to sleep because I wouldn’t be able to have children. I’m okay with it now but it was a challenge for me. Hear me out- So for years ive had bad periods. Really bad. Went to doctors, even the ER cause i could even walk during it. I was told "oh you just have bad periods". N i started believing it cause it was constantly told to me by doctors even by female doctors. Men obviosly dont understand. It wasnt until a few years ago i learned about endometrosis and fibroids. The pain I experienced was happening outside of my period. N id explain that and how i was feeling to female doctors. N repeatly get dismissed and disregarded and made to feel like im crazy. Leaving me to be In pain and depressed for years. My therapist told me as black women we have to advocate for ourself cause we are usually dismissed. Ive even a white therapist say the same thing. I had to do my own research, demand answers and Switched doctors three time until someone requested an MRI in 2023 and found fibroids. All this time it was oh u just bad periods. I accepted that for years until the pain got unbearable. My third therapist said that black women have the highest mortality rate during child birth. Cause we often disgarded and its apart of a systematic racism. N actually certain diseases black women are more predisposed to because of genetic makeup. So we dont get protection from our men, we get disregarded by doctor s and then to be told we dont own womanhood and belittling our experiences is crazy. Its insulting. I think bc trans men still experience womenhood so theres less entitlement. Where as trans women never fully expercing it. It just comes off as yet another man being entitled and dismissing our experience and not protecting us but also wanting to be in our space.

Hi Q! I LOVE this discussion & there is a LOT to unpack. Defending black womanhood is NOT new. Adding to Claudia's list may further explain the reasons why (SOME) Black women (BW)feel we are being ERASED:
    1) BW not considered a standard of beauty for decades
    2) BW's hair styles, features, and skin tones being appropriated, capitalized on, mimicked, and stolen by other races.
    3) black men becoming rich and successful and choosing non- black mates
    4) society considering BW masculine e.g., the discourse around Venus and Serena Williams and Wendy Williams being hermaphrodites or transgender when they are biological women.
    5) The recent supreme Court ruling against abortion, now women don't have autonomy of our own bodies?
    6) law enforcement and media ignoring stories about BW being abducted, kidnapped, murdered and missing
    7) The disparities between BW and white women when it comes to medical/ health care, childbirth and obstetrics and gynecology.
    8) All of these things may contribute to feeling invalidated, overlooked, not heard, ignored, copied----we have to fight and defend. BW have two strikes at birth: being black & being a woman while black men have ONE strike (and yes gay men have 2 strikes).
I hope this Jess Hilarious incident is the catalyst for a thoughtful, honest, and broader discussion about our fears & how ALL bw & trans women can heal and come TOGETHER & stop the hateful language & vitriol. It's not productive. Ps, I am a black woman.

Literature and science. It's not some new word... we're just in a world where the word can be applicable. It's a root word no different than "anni" ie. Anniversary or annual. I hope that makes sense.

    Today is my 50th bday….. I’m a woman!
I am an ally, my daughter is a lesbian. She came out and ima be honest I was surprised, but that was our strongest reaction. My husband, her brother and myself have no
issues. My only issue is worry for her safety because of bigoted hateful ppl!!!
I don’t have an issue with anyone who’s a part of 2SLGBTQ+ community.
But I personally prefer to be referred to as a Woman.PERIODT
If I have no problem respecting you and how you want to be addressed why can’t I demand the same!
I LOVED how Claudia broke it down…. Black
    Womanhood is exhausting!!!

I am a born bio woman, we don’t want to be called anything other than what we are. It needs to be respected, I have Native American roots as well as black. I understand two spirited people. The problem is the invasion of these people getting on platforms and basically minimizing what women are naturally , just to be apart of it. I think that’s the best way to put it. I get that spiritually they feel like they are women.. but that can be seen as pseudo… in the physical these are males in drag to us and to everyone else. You think other races don’t have an issue with this, but they do! All races of women are honestly about annoyed with these trans women… that’s what is not being said. We are over it… y’all are not us. Respect that part at least… we protected the trans & gay males forever now every chance they get to shit on us.. they do. We are tired, now you are seeing how we really feel..

First thing first if you want to understand womanhood you have to get over this issue with us saying "I FEEL" It's how women communicate

  • @KamiePhresh

This conversation is draining for the simple fact that there’s no compromise, empathy and understanding on either side. And as a woman I don’t want to continuously defends myself against men and now the trans community. Respect has to come from both sides.

All I have to say is that a lot of groups are going to be burnt up if black women get tired of the sneak dissing and go full conservative. When the empathy tit goes dry, they are going to have to run to the few who gives a damn. We are not your punching bags.

  • @sheezallabouthercoinxz5905

One part I disagree with is that only Black women are having this dialogue. I see women of all cultures disgruntled with the Cis conversation. I think it just depends on what your social media feed shows you base on what you usually look at. If you don’t particularly usually look at content from these other cultures you may not see their dialogue on the matter pop up in your instagram, CZcams or etc. feed.
