    2016 Silverado with the ecotec3 4.3 285hp 305lb torque rated towing 7200lbs. Average 20mpg I love it!!! A strong V6 is a possibility and the future imo

    I have a 2006 Nissan Titan with 183,00 miles, and I personally when I step on the gas I want my truck to go, a half ton truck should have a V8, not a V6, I don't care what kind of power it can put down.

    Midwest. Currently driving a 2011 Toyota 4runner. Wanting a pickup again, I drove an XD Diesel last week and was impressed with ride quality. No need for XD capacity, so I'm eager to drive the .5ton. Looking at all in that class, but right now, Toyota and Ford are my top 2. I may wait until the Tundra is updated in a year or two.

    About to replace our 2012 Ram 2500 Laramie Mega, and this is one of the trucks we are looking at. I understand it's not an HD truck, but since it's comparable in price it's hard not to compare. It has a few nice features, but overall I still like the Ram so much better for so many reasons. The possible long-term build quality difference might be the big thing the Nissan has going for it. And while it's not a deciding factor, the Alpine factory stereo in my Ram is still heads and shoulders above the RF system they put in this Titan.
    I like the Ram styling way better, the interior better (I do like the Platinum Reserve seats), and the tested 6.7L Cummins. I like some of the added safety features of the Titan, but they missed some things like the lack of power folding mirrors, the already-dated entertainment system, no sunroof option, etc for a truck that is priced in the top of the line category. I would miss the massive interior space in the Ram Mega cab.
    The Titan rides better being a half-ton truck than my 2500, and I like the bumper to bumper 5/100k warranty. It's still not a toss-up when you factor in price. We paid less for the bigger, stronger, and well-equipped Ram in 2013 than we'd pay for a Platinum Reserve right now unless Nissan gave some good discounts. And my biggest concern is still the newer Cummins engine and the ability of newly-trained Nissan techs to work on them.

    Why would they put a V6 in the Titan? If you want a V6 just get the Frontier. I have an 06 Titan and I couldn't imagine having a underpowered 6 cylinder under the hood.

    300hp 350 lb-ft 4.6 liter v6 normally aspirated with a a standard 6 speed transmission would be appropriate. In terms of towing, 7,000-8500 lbs of towing and 1,100 lbs payload minimum. as for fuel efficiency, 17 city and 25 highway would be ideal.

  • @bradgauthier8047

    Wish they would of added an auto 4wd rather then just 2wd , 4 hi and 4 low. Living in MI it comes in handy with our weather. A bigger navigation screen and better instrument cluster is much needed as well.

    If they bring this in a v6, I will 100% trade in my 14 tacoma in for this. I use my truck for hauling motorcylces and hauling trailers, and I still hit no where near my towing capacity. But I need a slightly larger truck. The interior of these midsize trucks are too tiny which decreases the comfort value for both the driver and passengers and their beds are not wide enough. the 5.5 is the perfect length for me as well, not too short not too long. So getting a titan half ton with a v6 (~300 hp, ~280 tq) would be killer! As you might tell, size is also important for me being in DC so it being 14inches shorter than XD makes it perfect for me. Ive always liked the size of hte first generation titans, glad they are not scrapping that size

    I have a 2002 Mazda B3000 with almost 300,000 miles. It is a very good truck. A V6 with roughly 300 hp and 300 ft. lbs. torque woukd be a good combination

    I am sure that Nissan could build a nice turbo V6 that could make some nice torque. To compete in the commercial sales arena (which they need to do) they will need a normally aspirated V6 that is competitive with the other offerings. 300-320 hp would do the trick.

  • @DavidStanleymusic
    @DavidStanleymusic Před 8 lety

    The 3.0 liter v6TT with 400 ho and 354 TQ would be a dandy Though they will probably use a reworked 4.0 v6 with 300 hp 287 tq

  • @DavidStanleymusic
    @DavidStanleymusic Před 8 lety

    Either a 4.0 liter v6 updated or the new 400 hp 3,0t liter v6 or 3,8 liter v6 400hp
    or 3,8 liter twin turbo 650 hp or 3.5 liter 332 hp
    Unlike the other companies Nissan has any number of 6cyl engines to choose from. ranging from 260 hp to 650 hp. I imagine a 3.8 650 hp Titan warrior would be appealing.

    I'd expect a V6 in the same style as the F150 3.5 Ecoboost. I see something like a 3.5 or 3.6 V6 with at least one turbo if not two. Probably around 350hp and 400lb ft of torque.

  • @xtidnab

    Greetings. A V6 engine in such a big truck!?! It would make sense in a hybrid electric truck as generator (range extender); otherwise I think it's useless.

  • @imfromcaliforniaimfromcali2893

    I would like to get a titan car guy that loves many different cars. Japanese and German. Love to get 2017 regular cab figure I can score a good deal? Motors a v6 with 9speed trans for fuel economy is fine 250hp plenty if you can get 24 mpg

  • @dariuskila
    @dariuskila Před 8 lety +9

    I am tired of V6 engines ending up in pickup trucks. I drive a 1999 dodge durango which has the 5.9l Magnum V8, it is not as efficient as new engines these days, but ask anyone who's driven V8's the high you get is only possible from such a brute engine. When you put these smaller engines in big cars, I believe you cater to the people who are eco-friendly & want to rid V8's of the world. You don't put engines in trucks to be fuel efficient, you put them in to do tough work & I don't want to here, "Oh the 3.5l eco-boost V6 makes more power & is more efficient than your car & can tow just as much." Brother talk to me after you've put 200,000+ miles on your car & see if that V6 is still alive, it won't be! They are built to die, the cars with these naturally aspirated V8 engines are bulletproof, so with that I say long live the V8!

    • @DavidStanleymusic
      @DavidStanleymusic Před 8 lety

      v6 is ok for midsize trucks but 1/2 ton and up 6cyl is out of place.The 3,5 Ford engine will die in 8 years or earlier the turbo will have to be replaced. the engine will die pre 200,000 miles
      a v8 in today's trucks is barely working hard
      and will outlast the truck..

      Titan v6? no no
      But the Frontier v6 is reliable,durable,and rugged off road.
      Titan V8 is a fairly big rig ,bigger than most need.

    I don't like a where the gearshift is. Put it back in its original spot. Can I get a sunroof? Push the towing up to 10500lbs like Toyota. Give the truck at least 400 lbs of torque.
