  • Nissan’s second-generation Titan can comfortable run with Chevy, Ford, and Ram. Getting those loyal owners of the American brands to switch will be the toughest job it ever tackles. Tom Voelk reviews the Titan XD Pro4X model with gas engine.

    I have a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4x and so far so good. It does seem to chug the gas though. I get a variety of readings when I’m done driving through the ECO report and the best I can get is 16L/100km (sorry Americans I’m lazy to do the conversion).

    Great review. The torque is actually 401 ft lbs for the Gas XD.
    The 1/2 ton Titan is 394 ft lbs. Same 390hp for both. Probably a numbers game on paper.

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  Před 7 lety

      Curious where you're getting your numbers. It's possible they goose it a smidge. A double check with the Nissan specs site does not break XD and 1/2 ton down differently, listing only 394 for the V8.

    • @AB-coyote
      @AB-coyote Před 7 lety +1

      Strange. It's been listed as 401 ft lbs for the longest time. I just went to NissanUSA, and it listed 394 even for the XD.
      Nissannews.com still shows 401 ft lbs for the 2016 Gas XD. I'm betting they made a mistake on the main website. But yes splitting hairs at the actual output difference.

    That's because you have to deal with a bunch of sleazy pushy middlemen peddling these things. Most people just want to get the process over with as quickly as possible. Car manufactures should really revamp how their products are sold.

      Thanks for the response. Looking at the Canyon/Colorado Diesel vs. the Titan. The Pro 4X seems to carry a better price than the SL model yet it seems more refined. Hadn't looked at the Titan earlier, but with the rebates they're hard to ignore.

  • @PersonPrivat
    @PersonPrivat Před 7 lety +1

    Nissan Titan XD has problems with driveshaft. The problem is caused by a "resonance frequency" that occurs at speeds above 75 mph. Vibrations caused by a condition that occurs in the power train systems at speeds above 75 mph and continued operation causes the transmission and driveshaft components to fracture. The problem is unnoticeable until it causes damages and the truck quits moving while driving. Also, truck can roll away if parked without the parking brake engaged.

    • @Sig721Tau

    Another great review sir. Well you went several videos without being a "nanny" so I guess you get a pass for reminding full grown adults that they should test test drive multiple vehicles before spending mid five figures. Still don't understand how its your responsibility to do so and for those of us who aren't stupid, it sure is annoying.

    As of August 2016 GM sold 526,548 examples of the GMC and Chevy combined. Compared to Ford 527,847 examples of the F150. GM selling more trucks than Ford is a myth.
