Personally i think nissan is one of the most underrated trucks. Cheaper but still giving great performance. Also very easy to modify
Like it showed in the video, get what you pay for. Nissan is nice but not there to really compete with other brands.
Yes it's very underrated .
Better reliability. Power performance and quality. Maybe not as fancy. Well it's a man's truck
Let me specify I'm talking about the Titan only.
@@drubrasi261 it literally beat that Ford bud
Nissan is unbeatable when it comes to reliability and durability. The resale value is fantastic.
the trucks but definitely not in the cars.
@@Rocket9944 in the cars (oversees)
Great video without childish brand loyalty comments. Thank you!
I'm a Ford owner but today you can get a Titan about $15k cheaper with the mark downs. That puts a bunch of gas in your tank.
I’ve owned V8 Ram 1500, Chevy 1500, Ford F150 & Titan. Titan by far feels and drives the best. Feels more muscle than even my past Ram’s Hemi.
I have owned 4 Titans so far I started with a 2005 and now I own a 2018 and I have loved all of them . I have absolutely no problems with any of them and I drive approximately 25K miles a year . I think they give you a lot of power and quality along with luxury without breaking the bank .
Yeah I agree about Nissan trucks, I bought one about 5 years old , still some warranty left, low miles in show room conditioned for half the price.
The other trucks I looked at were even older and double the price , like Ford and Chevy.
I spent the last year doing research, test driving, and talking to people. In the end I bought a Nissan Titan Decked out in turbo diesel. It pulls my 6k lb. trailer like the wind blows, not to mention the bed is cool. Maintenance is a snap, and it fits our needs perfectly. The thing that sealed the deal for me was the Titan owner that told me his 7000 lb. travel trailer didn’t push his Titan around like it did his F150. The first camping trip with our travel trailer confirmed it. The Titan is a towing machine.
‘04 Titan with 225,000 miles and still running strong. I’ll buy another after I break 300,000. Oh, and the Titan XD midnight edition looks better than anything else on the road. (And it’s made in the USA for those” I’ll buy only American made”
As a lifetime ford trk owner i took a chance with nissan titan and i can say i like the titan better with zero complaints. Titan is an excellent trk. No issues
My 2008 Nissan titan drives like a champ, with 420000 miles,
you got give Nissan credit for really revamping there truck line..
Why would you apologize about mentioning a rifle can be stowed under the seat? Why does owing a firearm make you a gun nut? I am so sick of spineless journalists that are scared of saying what they think due to political correctness.
He's not spineless, just putting the anti-gun nuts on notice. They clobber him every time he suggests an under seat storage area is perfect for a concealed Glock ;).

+northlander Oh, that's rich. Is that what the news media in other countries are saying about us?
+northlander lots of people own guns for sports too, I shoot for fun. I like it, get over it. I'm not dangerous.

Thank you for posting your dissatisfaction with firearm political correctness. Takes guts when the Fed Gov't is watching (ask Snowden). It appears your voice was heard. He said he read the "gun" comments - ¿sounds like he re-taped that portion of the video?
I am planning to buy a new Nissan Titan PRO 4X in 2018.
U.S.N. Veteran, & NRA Life member.
I have a 2017 SL trim and I love it.
Settle for nothing but the PRO-4X trim grade in the Nissan!
Pro4x with all the options from platinum reserve.
JD1459 Bought mine a couple of months ago. Cummins with top pro 4x package. Tow a 13,000. 5th wheel. The truck weighs in at 8,400lbs This is the best towing rig I've ever owned.
They're great trucks. Really understatement.
I like the older Titan a lot, the new one will have to grow on me. the new F-150 is a good looking truck. heck they all are looking good now. picking nits when buying a new truck fully loaded.
I looked at all the options when I was looking for my truck, Nissan was hands down the most bang for my buck. My Titan XD is my favorite vehicle that I've owned, except when I'm at the gas pump lol
The titan wins hands down
I own a 2017 Titan Texas Edition and love it.
How's it holding up I have a 2017 also.
@@Rocket9944 It's great, no problems whatsoever!
I own a Titan and I love it, and I've owned both a Sierra and a Silverado before I picked it up. Best truck I've ever owned in my opinion.
That being said, I'm really eyeballing that Ford...
I have recently (last two months) driven a Ram, F150, 18 & 19 Silverado and the Titan. I am a previous Tundra owner and am not even considering it as an option. I almost didn't even consider the Titan due to a lot of negative things I have read about it. But, yesterday I had a few extra minutes and stopped by the local Nissan dealer. To say the least I was pretty impressed with what I saw and drove, especially in view of the negative things I have read. Other than the Tundra, I have mostly owned GM products. Long story short I have pretty much narrowed my search down to the F150 or the Titan. I really need to go drive a F150 again, it has been about a month, but the Titan seemed to me to be more solid and rode just as smooth or smoother than the F150. I'm not one to rush into something and will be debating some more and may even wait till the 2020 models come out and see if I can get a deal on a 2019. I'll stay in touch and let everyone know the outcome.
We're still waiting......
I'm waiting too
2020 is here lol
what did you choose?
What you got?
I don't know why people are saying these truck look a like. Besides the dip on the door near the tow mirrors, I don't really see it. I have a 06 Titan with a 160K plus miles still rolling, no major mechanical issues.
Not a nissan fan but that Nissan Warrior is amazing
LegendofVII Agreed, and with that grey black and orange color skeem. It’s better the the ford raptor
The rifle storage has me sold. Will an AR fit if it has a suppressor attached? The center console should hold plenty of Ammo cans! I love it! I like that the ford can be had without a bed liner. Its easier to wash the blood out of the bed when you don't have a spray on bed liner.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lmfao
America! 😂😂
I shouldn't be laughing at this but I am
I have the 2017 nissan. My long deer rifle fits in and it is my longest rifle. It will fit about any firearm.
Owning a gun doesn't make you a nut. Being a liberal on the other hand.....
I wasn’t a Nissan truck fan until I ended up with one. Big girlfriend sold it to me at a price. I couldn’t say no to you when I was in the market for a truck and I’m really glad I got this instead of a Ford or Chevy!
I have 2018 Titan xd. I love everything but fuel economy its ok. But its a great truck
I may have to check out the Titan. I would never have considered one with that old unsightly pre-2017 body style, but the new 2017-2019's look just like Silverados and F150's, plus they are made in Mississippi.
Sam here brotha... the older Titans looked hideous. But now they look amazing. Look at the 'Titan Rocky Ridge'... better than the over-priced Ford Raptor!
When you're sitting in the trucks, you look like Jason Kidd the basketball player lol
its not just for rifles, its for survey equipment, tripods, rods, levels, pipe detectors etc too.
It's a storage for that in titan
The Titan looks better. And MADE IN THE USA! The 2016-19 Titan was designed in California, engineered in Michigan and is assembled in Canton, Mississippi.
Still not an American company

Thanks for the review, beautiful Titan good job Nissan.
The Titan was designed in California, engineered in Michigan and is assembled in Canton, Mississippi. Although the transmission is sourced from Japan, all of the engines are made in America. The standard gasoline engine is made in Tennessee, and the diesel engine is made in Columbus, Indiana.
Titan by far the better truck here. Way better interior.
WOW, did you watch the video? Ford by far is better, dont tell me, you actually bought one these gutless 295 lbft of torque nissan tin cans.
+David Sanderson nissan tin can? I think you mean ford aluminum can.
+David Sanderson ford is the tin can. And I guess you didnt watch the video and all the other reviews that praise the Titan. Titan still is the better truck. More options, better interior, not a ford that falls apart.
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS too funny you go and create a handle for such a pos truck. The big boy trucks fall apart. Rather own a Toyota Tundra or Nissan Titan.

as Nissan owner I'm not gonna lie.. I like it.. so crisp and clean
wow, this guys good. He addressed engineering.
that body noise he heard in the nissan was the front end slamming onto the front bumper if anyone else saw that in the vidja
Nice video. Ilike the way you do your reviews. Somewhat unbiased which is the way it should be with all these review channels on youtube these days.
Ive had my titan for 1 year. NEvER AGAIN! Multiple problems since the day i bought it, nissan will not work with you at all and does not want to fix anything! Ive had blown speakers, creaking doors, flat spots on tires, check engine light on due to lack of oil to top end dealer recomends i buy a $375 engine block heater says caused by sub 20 weather. Dealer put on 3 sets of bad tires. I bought my own after the 3rd set. Rattle in the driver door, creaking seats creaking door handle on the inside. Horrible quality control. My bed shakes so bad at highway speed it feels like a vibrating chair. Nissan refused to even admit it was an issue took me 4 dealers to get them to even try something. Said they would balance driveline but its been 5 months and they say they are waiting on a part to balance. On a positive note the engine is a monster tons of power. Oh ya and on gravel roads the bed shakes so bad im waiting for it to fall off. Tailgate rattles like crazy on gravel sounds like a bed full of wrenches. But other than that great $40,000 truck!!!!!!! POS
They all have their hiccups. I just returned my 18 ram on lemon law. JS
Gabriel. F150.
@@derekharris3564 rams are also notorious for similar problems, ever since the 60s

I love my Titan it's the Bomb
Nissan is the truck . They are priced right and have 400 HP V8s ....Beasts !!
I was a Ford owner for 30 years had a few fords not no more went with Nissan well built powerful and drives like it looks smooth!
Titan is the better truck
bitch you guessin
Gabriel gonzalez It’s a better value truck if it’s 5k cheaper for a higher end trim which seems to be about what Titan has been selling for. It’s a ok truck , they just have extremely low sales . Which is probably why I’m going to pick on up , they are crazy cheap right now.
Having said that the new Ram is best truck on the market right now. After driving a lone star edition , it’s in a class above Ford right now as far as comfort , trim level options.
@@Gabrielgonzalez-ff8su You're flaming.
2017 Nissan and 2016 Ford. Come on, the new Ford is all new and should be the one you test here!
im sad to say i prefer the styling of the previous titan. the new lights are nice but that grille, my god. maybe it would balance out with a 4 inch lift on 35's. but the way it looks stock, yikes. i think the design has potential but the proportions are way off. theyd be better off putting the revamped 5.6 in the old titan. id be more interested in that, sad to say.
cmax I prefer the old styling as well... I had an 04 Titan before I upgraded to a 2010 duramax, but I honestly don't like the headlights on the new titan
As an owner of a 2008 Titan, I prefer the old style over the new, as well.
dillhole agreed on the grill. I just drove the platinum XD and had my heart set on the 19 ram Laramie. Titan was pretty sweet. Haven’t even driven the 19 ram yet
Honestly I’m liking the Titan better. I’m sure the F 150 may be a bit more reliable, but as far as looks and driving, the Titan is more appealing to me. But to each his own.
I've had my 2017 Titan almost two years and I like it. I dont love it though. Here's why.
Fuel mileage. 20% less across the board.
Mirror shape, size and placement = low confidence.
Rear doors should open up to 90 degrees.
Transmission tends to upshift too quickly especially 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th.
Seatbelt is a long reach
Mirror heat and rwdefroster buttons hidden from view when gear selector is in drive.
Some of the radio controls are a long reach and I'm 6' 1".
The box is nice for tying down cargo but hard to clean out leaves, gravel etc.
All those were just fixed in the 2020 Titan
Yah I'd pick the titan over a f150 personally not a Ford fan unless were talking about mustang and or ford gt
The Nissan trucks are decent. I've owned for about 10 years, no issues mechanically (a frontier manual transmission then a 7 speed automatic transmission in Titan). They definitely are missing some things though to compete with the top brands. It's a bummer that Nissan I've read will discontinue the Titan because I think it's a solid buy.
Nissan never said theyll discontinue the titan, at least not from what I've heard
I am curious how the new 10 speed automatic will perform in the Ford trucks..
I like your un bias in your videos, that's why I like your channel.
Thanks. Good. Keep taking vehicles off road. Love the wash board Road and the rough road that follows. Informative.
Interesting that the Titan doesn't get better mileage than what it is currently getting. I would have expected better, especially with a 2WD.
Tfl truck got better on this Titan. They actually do a 100 mile loop and test all trucks equally.
the ratings changed for 2017
+occckid123 they still did the test on the. Newest Titan and newest trucks just a few weeks ago.
Weight but its a truck who cares lol
hard to get economy increase when the power is up about 70 h.p
Nice!!! Place to put my A.R
I didn't like that titan at first. But now that I've seen so many f150s. The Titan now looks amazing. The f150 is really overrated. The Titan is underrated.
Great review sir, I'm in the market and watching your video definitely helps, thanks a bunch.
I'll keep my 2004 F150. Still runs great with 175,000 miles and I'll save 40,000.
Ok.
You can drive your old truck. I will drive my new titan. I love it.
Just be careful with them Spark Plugs if you have a 5.4 and since it's a 2004 be sure to keep track with the Air Bags they're known not to deploy
I have an 09 Nissan Titan 4x4, and I have to say I like it better than any Ford I have owned. It does good on gas mileage, has plenty of power, ride is nice. I love driving my truck.
which would you choose, the Ford F-150 or the nissan f-150
Fords have generic interiors. This Nissan is the win here. The front is growing on me.....
You sir are on Crack....the interior of the Ford is much better that that Nissan. Hell, aluminum Body, better tow ratings and twin Turbo Torque...yup FORD is much better!! Actually that Nissan is top of the line, A Platinum should have been compared but again there is no comparison!!! Almost a full liter bigger engine and barely 5HP and 3Lbs torque better than the 5.0...LOLOLOL Sorry, laughable!!!
Ford interiors have been inferior for decades. it's one of their biggest flaws besides the pitiful 6.0 6.4 diesels they sold their customer base who didn't know better. The ford also is a throw away truck, this i why u see so many owners after 4 yrs tossing them for new ones. That is a fact no one can deny. I can see ur a Found on road dead lover and that's ok. Brand loyalty is not. Consumers being conned and will be for a long time yet. What's laughable is your positions. Good luck.
Ford was the one who actually put focus on truck interior's in the 2004 year model. The 1998 - 2006 Silverado's had AWFUL interiors...I'm not saying the 1997 - 2003 F-150 interior's were any better, But pre 2004 ALL trucks had hard plastic, unrefined utilitarian interiors. Ford blew the competition out of the water with the 2004+ F-150's, they were so good in fact that even the 2007 - 2013 Silverado interiors were still inferior to the 2004 - 2008 F-150's. It took GM until the 2014 model year...TEN YEARS LATER to catch up to Ford's quality. And then you bring up the 6.0L and 6.4L which weren't even designed by Ford, they were International engine's used in Ford trucks...You know, kind of like Isuzu builds the Duramax. The Ford designed and built 6.7L used in current trucks has been a great a engine. And lastly, no...Ford's are NOT throw away trucks. I owned a 1993 F-150 years ago that had over 350,000 miles on it before I sold it, never had a lick of trouble with that truck. I own a 2011 F-150 5.0L now with 44,000 miles on it and I have no doubt it'll last me the same as that old 1993 did.
My father has one of the first super duties. Has over 500k miles. Been wrecked several times and still goes. I have a 75 F150, my gpas 02, and my 2014. Throw away? Take your lies elsewhere.
Nathan McDonald IL disagree. My dad's got an 04chev loaded and I always thought the interior outclassed the ford's which were hard and uncomfortable. But u like what I like. I also dislike ford's generic looking steering wheel. The f150 with 5.0 is only way to go in their product line. The rest are mediocre at best. And GMC did it right with the duamax. Ford still can't get it right go scorpion bahhhhhh what a joke.
Great video of both trucks, keep it up! Thx
I used to own an f150. I've also owned a Tundra. Considering the Titan. But the interior on the new fords feels SOOOO cheap it was an immediate no for me. Tundra was the best truck i've owned but the lack of modern features are disappointing. Titan would be perfect if they'd just put a freaking sunroof on it.
Thats what i thought, but in my old truck, I forgot it was there. It ended up even not working because I never ever used it. I think the Titan is worth it, even without the sunroof.
they say the Ford is better than the Titan, we will have to see 7 years later.
Great Video!!! Easy to watch. Keep it up.
Seems like you're more of Ford guy. I have a titan sl and couldn't be any happier. Difference with this one is that mine has tan leather seats, which are also heated leather, I don't think you mentioned it.
He's a Ford guy. That's why the Nissan Titan made our TestDrivenTV "Id Buy It" list and the F-150 didn't.
I'll take the Nissan any day over any of the big 3. I like to have a reliable vehicle that has no issues, ever. That's why I bought the Pro4x with every option. Drove the others, they suck on all levels. Terrible interiors that were filed with plastic and gaps everywhere, horendeous ride too. The Titan is 100% built in the USA, your precious Ford is built in Mexico, 100%. Though I went for the XD with the Cummins twin turbo M2 diesel. And the Ram? I'll pass on the Fiat eco diesel motor in it. Garbage....
Brendon Kelly Nissan has never led in anything lol Ford walks all over your Asian go cart
Brendon Kelly you right 100%,the pro4x is the monster
Brendon Kelly The new titan currently is the most probalmatic and unreliable compared to the big three and even less reliable then Toyota the little guy . But you can't call Toyota a little guy when your realize Ford sells more trucks in 2 days then Nissan sells in a year(not a exaggeration ,I'm serious look it up) haha
Bought a Titan when they were relatively new, 2004. 13 years and well over 100k miles never a penny other than oil and brake pads. When I sold it it still drove extremely tight, not sloppy at all. Looked at all the new trucks and just got another Titan. It is a matter of personal preference but I thought it was a better package than the F-150. The RAM was close, but the dealer pissed me off.
You are completely incorrect f 150 is made in Dearborn Michigan and all super duties 100% are from Kentucky Truck Plant. Anyone who buys these doesn't work with their truck enough to justify having one anyway. All the profit Nissan made off your truck went overseas so congrats on your foreign knock off ford.
Outstanding Review, I'm in the market and watching your video definitely helps, thanks a bunch.
Thank you for explaining that pricing is equal on the trucks when options are. It always makes me roll my eyes a bit when pricing comes up on pickups because all over the internet you have fools saying "Ford/GM/Ram/Toyota/Nissans are so much more than the rest.". Obviously BS- the marketing people know how much the other brands are getting for their stuff and are going to price their truck accordingly. Comparing apples to apples on trucks can be difficult given how many options they have but no one is selling their truck for substantially more money.
"How does it go." These are made for hauling, not going fast...there are SO many more vehicles that you could choose from if you wanted to go fast, but again, if that's what you are looking for, you probably aren't looking at a truck...
Stick to evaluating what the trucks are actually made for.
Don't tell me these are "fast".
You know you can stretch your knees right 😂? So your knees are not so high up
"Dead nuts comparison ". That's my new phrase to use from now on. Lol
"Unbiased reporter"
F150 - all the way!!
Nissan is in line with the rest. I have 400,000 on my titan. Never got that high on my Ford. Titan still runs like new. Only had the starter replaced. I love Ford but the proof is in the pudding. The titan also came with a bedliner standard.
Just bought 2020 titan sv love this truck always was ford truck man
I want a console shifter on the titan
You can not have it on new F-150 either, unless you go to what they call a "sport package" including a black plastic grill, painted bumpers, no chrome. And you can't get a black interior anymore either, unless you go with the "Sport Pkg" The 2016 F-150 also has had way too much power assist for me, no feel, If you understand what I'm trying to say. I do like the new look. I've driven F-150's since about 1981, but wasn't satisfied with this one, even with the 5.0 (which I wanted, don't like the 6 cyl. turbo) So now I'm a new Tundra owner.
I like the tundra too waiting for the update or is it due for a new model?
I love the Tundra, but that gas mileage is a deal breaker. I'm hoping the new version gets a better engine. Though the Tacoma TRD Offroad only gets 1 mpg better than the Tundra
I thought I wanted a console shifter but I actually like the column shifter on the titan. Gives you alot more space in the center console.
I have 15 F-150. And I love it! Im a truck fan, and I always have two in my garage. So my 12 GMC, is headed out for a trade for a New Titan. I want a Titan so bad.
I love Ford ever since I was five. Dad and Grandfather had Fords. However I do like the look of the Nissan.
The 2003 Nissan Titan made the Ford F150, Dodge Ram and Silverado what they are today. No one was offering what Nissan did in a stock 1/2 t. truck in 2003.
I had Ford ,GMC and Toyota trucks. Last one is 2004 Titan is way better all of them, that's a reason i got 2017 Titan which will outlast big names big time.one of label on truck shows 50 % made in US including engine, 15 % Japan including transmission. Check your Ford labels.
Regards
I have the 2017 titan too! Do you have an endurance or a cummins?
I have this Titan and over my first 2,000 miles my combined fuel economy is 18.6 mpg. I choose the Titan because it felt more refined and less like a work truck compared to the ford. Quality of the interior also felt better especially in the plastics and leather. Everything inside was easier to use and makes perfect sense.
The exterior design of the Titan is so much sexier than the F-150. The designers at Nissan got it going on. The ride in the Titan is smooth like a luxury car and feels more secure. Oh, and BTW, all model Titans come with rear power sliding window. Only the more expensive, higher trim packages of all the "big 3" American Auto makers have it available. 😡
5.0 coyote all the way
Bought the new Nissan Titan 1/2 ton SL over the Ford. More refined feel and great ride. I found the Ford to have a jittery ride. The more I drive it the more pleased I am
Not particularly picky about the resemblance. The titan will last you longer is cheaper and truck practical.
Another great review. 😰👍🏽
my infiniti qx56 has impressed me in cornering as top heavy as it looks, it'll shred a curve at speeds I'd never try in other, smaller SUV's.
If I'm mistaken I guess this doesn't matter. It looks (from the angle I saw) like the designers won out in ford this year and didn't protect the doors with proper rocker panels. If you live in North Country or travel gravel a lot it probably goes without saying that the running boards are a good option.
Nice comparison video! I'm on the market for a truck right now and I'm leaning towards the 2018 Nissan Titan PRO-4X.
What is wrong with owning a rifle?
Peter Lund Nothing. People were clutching their pearls because he dared mention the word. He addressed it.
Yes, i know this 11 months late.
It’s really sad in America today when you have to apologize for saying the word gun or rifle these are the very instruments that gave you the freedom to say whatever you please, so America wake up and realize it’s the gun that keeps you free never let them take your freedom
Holy informative! Awesome video, I think I'd stick with the 5.0 but they are both great trucks

MHCPL Yup that's what it boils down to.
I agree.
Rifle storage! Sweet.
Btw on sale I bought this Titan SL for $36k no other truck could compete price wise.

thanks guys...
dewdorama hands down, and I've driven them both. The Titan is so roomy and I like all the features, also a better ride.
Ford with the 3.5 ecoboost. 470 lb/ft torque, way better mpg.
To bad Nissan didn't go with Dual Injection, instead of the carbon build up prone Direct Injection. A stupid thing on both trucks are the rear seats, how often will passengers be in back vs. seats folded for cargo, passenger comfort is secondary to cargo on a four door passenger truck.
That's simply not true. Most people buy Crew Cab configurations because they have families to haul around as well as stuff. They have to provide for both the working man and the family man, which is why they design the rear seats the way they do.
We
Ok, for all you guys and gals that said the Titan looks like the F150, this review here clearly shows that they don't.
To me it looks like they took a few last Gen F-150 styling cues. And that's not a ding, they look pretty good. But that's just my opinion, maybe how I look at it. If you like it buy it. They are big strong trucks, lots of room.
The 2004 F150 is the one it looks like. They even copied their marketing for that year.
Don't apologize for mentioning a gun. Any clowns on here offended by that, grab your play dough and head for your safe room. And shut up.
Which truck did you like better? Which would you buy if both were 4x4?

Very nice review.

Use the PRO-4X for the comparison, not the SL trim level.
