You can’t trust anyone when it comes to money. I trusted my own brother who ended up screwing me over financially. Never in a million years did I think that would ever happen

In the recent Hatton documentary his own Dad put millions into another account that Ricky knew nothing about, his Dad said it was for his son but it doesn't quite add up when you take a huge amount of money from a grown man and put it into a secret account without his permission.
Boxing is riddled with this sort of financial stuff worldwide. Boxing is such a conceited and corrupt sport from the managers to judges and promoters. Rarely now do the best fight the best, especially in their prime and it’s all down to money. Carl realised that the people supposedly looking after his best interests were lining their own pockets with money that was his. Carl Frampton was a world Champion and highly respected boxer whos class and attitude is a shining example to others.
People show their true colours when it comes to money and not a lot of people have integrity 💯

The outcome of the court case speaks volumes about who was in the wrong. There was financial evidence that legally proved Carl was getting swindled and McGuigan made a financial settlement over it.
This is a reoccurring theme with the mcguigans, josh Taylor was once with them and now doesn’t have a good word to say about them

From what I've been led to believe , money is deducted without anyone's knowledge , costs are cut where they should'nt be and he expects every single penny he has put into you back , doesn't actually tell the fighter this though .

If this is indeed true I’m very disappointed to hear it about Barry McGuigan. He was very popular when I was growing up in the 80’s etc. Very well respected.

I'd been boxing from 7 years old. Represented Ireland on over 60 occasions. Was a 2 weight national senior champ. Won an EU Silver medal and was ranked as the No1 feather weight in the UK when I turned pro.
I'd never deny that Barry helped get me lots of media attention, especially in NI, but are you suggesting I should be happy with what was going on?
So Barry does everything to help Carl to get to the level he got to but It means that it gives him the right to be able to steal from him in return.
In my world that makes it worse because everything that he done for him then had an agenda behind it.

Many/maybe most fighters say they fight the next fight without getting paid their last. Some wait years for pay from a particular fight. There must be valid reasons. Promoter A is waiting for promoter B to pay. Gate receipts and TV money take months to calculate and roll in. Disputes over percentages

Terrible that Barry would let this happen to a boxer under his supervision, mostly because he ended up in court with "Thank you very much Mr Eastwood" over money. After every fight we heard "Thank you very much Mr Eastwood" ad naseum. Bring money into it and the pair ended up in court fighting over money. Seems like Barry learnt well from Mr Eastwood. Where money is involved, WHY is a stupid question Simon. What I do know is Carl is a decent bloke.

Reports that Jackal got paid a few mill and case was settled.

Big love and respect to Carl from the Glen Boxing Club, Cork city. Carl was a proper role model both inside and outside of the ring. It’s absolutely despicable what Barry did to Carl.
Carlos Frampton is highly intellectual with 10 As at GCSE which is why its so surprising he didn't review contracts.

Regarding the out-of-court settlement, Mr Frampton said: "It was the right thing to do.
"The agreement was right for me to settle on and I was happy with the terms that were agreed."
The Belfast boxer was asked if that effectively meant that he won.
He replied: "I can't say that, no, but I can say I'm very, very happy with the terms of the settlement."
