Is the debate too long? Skip to 31:40 for the gist of it.
A quick recap. Edip believes the following:
    - anyone can come up with his own recitation based on dotless manuscripts
    - Allah's ﷻ wanted people to come up with their own recitations
    - the actual reciters of the Quran are unreliable
    - we cannot accept that the reciters of the Quran actually read in the way that we know they read
    - we cannot rely on the recitations of the reciters even if they all agree on a recitation
    - the Umayyad empire played a role in creating recitations for political gain
    - Edip wrote his translation of the Quran based on Hafs' recitation
In brief, Edip, arguably the most well-known Quran-only scholar, doesn't believe that the Quran was preserved.
One point I didn't address in our talk was that the reciters, even when differing, weren't making mistakes, but were reciting in the way that they were taught to recite since the Quran was revealed in seven modes. Please refer to the video below for more on the subject.

Our beloved prophet(sm) said ,'‘Whoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he is unable to, then with his tongue; if he is unable, then with his heart - and that is the weakest of faith.’' Narrated by Muslim in his saheeh

Quran talks about multiple revelations preserved:
Quran 6 An'aam 89 - They are those whom *We gave the Book, Al-Hukm (understanding of the religious laws), and Prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein (the Book, Al-Hukm and Prophethood), then, indeed We have entrusted* it to a people (such as the Companions of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) who are not disbelievers therein.
Quran 3 : 48 - **And He (Allah) will teach him [('Îsa (Jesus)] the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, wisdom), (and) the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel).**
      - Jesus will follow Quran and Sunna upon his return!
Surat al-Baqara 2 :129 - *Lord, raise up from among them a Messenger who shall recite Your Revelations to them and teach them the Book الْكِتَابَ and Wisdom الْحِكْمَةَ and purify their lives.* You art All-Powerful and All-Wise"
An-Nissa' 4 :113 - Allah has sent down the Book and the Wisdom ...
Surat al-Ahzaab 33 :34 - And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah آيَاتِ اللَّهِ and wisdom الْحِكْمَةِ.
      Surat al Jumu'a 62:2 - He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) from among themselves, *reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Qur'an, Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah* (As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). And verily, they had been before in manifest error;
Quran 2 : 143 - where was the previous qiblah mentioned? - In hadiths!

And, on the Day of Judgement, they shall be turned to the most severe punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. [Al-Qur'an 2:85]

You misheard what Edip said. He didn’t say he follows his whims. Rather, he said he follows any recitation that, when applied to entirely of the Quran, doesn’t lead to internal errors within the words of the Quran. Remember, chapter 2, verse 2: “that is the book, no doubt in it, a guidance for almuttaqeen”. Therefore, if a particular recitation of the Quran would lead to meanings of Arabic words that produce an internal error within the text of Quran, then according “that is the book, no doubt in it” is false, and therefore, not the original recitation. However, if any recitation that does not lead to internal errors within the text of the Quran, as said, is okay, since they demonstrate that “that is the book, no doubt in it” is true.
Now, I’ve only looked at five of ten Qira’aat, of them being Hafs and Warsh, they all have the same diacritical markings for chapter 2, verse 2. If the latter five Qira’aat have the same marking as well, then: “that is the book, no doubt in it, a guidance for almuttaqeen” is the criterion or standard for discerning which recitation will demonstrate that verse to be true or false; and those that demonstrate the verse to be false, then, can be disregarded as not reliable recitations. All it takes is for one internal error to be found to demonstrate verse 2 to be false, since it claims that there is no internal doubt or uncertainties in the words of the book or Quran.

(3:7) It is He Who has revealed the Book to you. Some of its verses are absolutely clear and lucid, and these are the core of the Book.5 Others are ambiguous.6 Those in whose hearts there is perversity, always go about the part which is ambiguous, seeking mischief and seeking to arrive at its meaning arbitrarily, although none knows their true meaning except Allah. On the contrary, those firmly rooted in knowledge say: ‘We believe in it; it is all from our Lord alone.’7
this is what Quranist do , They interpret those verses as per their desire , Like Jins , Hoor , How to perform Salat, Fasting , how to perform Hajj ,
If ALLAH SWT was meant to reveal Only Quran then every single detail would have been in Quran But ALLAH SWT did not put burden upon Muslims to remember such a huge Book and ALLAH SWT revealed this book upon Prophet Muhammad pbuh who taught us this Quran So whenever you will interpret Quran as per your desire you will go astray as this verse said , Companions R.A did not even interpret as per their own desires

    • @Lightbulb909
      @Lightbulb909 Před 2 lety

@@rajababy2009 What does it mean to follow one’s own desires? To do so, is to approach the text with preconceptions and ideas that one prefers, and argue that is what the text is saying, and bending the text in every which way to demonstrate that this interpretation is the only possible meaning.
How do you know that you are not doing thus from your own desires? You desire that the Hadith and Sunnah must be supported by the Quran so that its validity it strong and that it is reliable. So, when other people interpret a verse, and this interpretation is one you have not heard, you dismiss such interpretation because it goes against the desire that Hadith and Sunnah are supported by the Quran.
Do you see how weak of an objection it is to say to someone: “you following your own desires”? Literally, any Muslim that has his own preconceptions about the Quran hurls this objection at another Muslim with a different preconception about the Quran. Instead of trying to see if an interpretation holds any water, it’s so much easier to accuse one of following their own desire when interpreting the text.

On one end you have people who reject everything outside of the Quran and want to reinterpret it, and on the other end you have people who put man made history books at the same level as the divine book, some of the extremists of the later even put the hadith above the Quran.
Both sides are in complete disagreement with each other, no one considers the middle ground.

Those with deviant hearts follow the elusive verses seeking ˹to spread˺ doubt through their ˹false˺ interpretations-but none grasps their ˹full˺ meaning except Allah. As for those well-grounded in knowledge, they say, “We believe in this ˹Quran˺-it is all from our Lord.” But none will be mindful ˹of this˺ except people of reason.
      - Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Of course, some may disagree, but if you pay attention my brother, you will see that this is exactly what lead to the corruption of Christianity, they strated reading the verses with their own desires/intellect, the issue with that is that people tend to seek philosofy, greek philosofy made up the trinity.
And this person, the scholar of Quran only, he also relies in philosofy, as others do.
The issue is that philosofy is man made, full of errors.
I reverted to Islam because i got myself totally lost by hearing humans for moral advice.
Why then would i revert to that, if I can read whatever and stretch the Quran to fit my desires, even if i tell myself i'm being honest, i don't think that's the right way.
      Allah knows, and we don't.
I'm just saying my thinking right now, it may change.
I only pray Allah subhana wa taala forgives our mistakes in any case.
I don't want division in the umman, and i respect truth seekers, and i'm sure they got some good idea, but if one pays attention to more traditional scholars many also get to the same conclusions, without the need to go all to an extreme, Allahu 3alam.
Perhaps we should hear some good scholars, I mean i'm unsure, but Ali Ataie is quite cool, he has also some weird opinion, he's more into Bible as a Muslim so he may be tempted to legitimize that more, Allahu 3alam.
Appart from him i'm still researching good scholars who actually are more into Quran... one interesting point is the multiple readings of the Quran, i believe there is that, but as I said extremism may lead you astray even if the concept is true in principle...

Edip has bigger problems than being a “Just Quran” guy. He’s has adopted an indoctrination called the “Miracle of the 19” which was set forth by the infamous Rashad Khalifa who is mostly famous for his claim that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the final rasul but not the final nabi. He also claimed he was a nabi himself.
Edip is a strict follower of him (you can find his videos that he claims he believes Khalifa is a nabi) and unfortunately that’s not he bulk of it; these people of the “Miracle of the 19” cult believe that all the verses in the Quran is somehow correlated with number the 19 in a mathematical way, except the last two verses of the Surah Tawbah. So, they reject those last 2 verses and claim that these were included in the Quran afterwards, hence they are fabricated. These people are blatantly infidels.
The worst part is, because this cult’s followers are not well educated on how math works, their methodology purely sucks and doesn’t add up.
There’s a Turkish mathematician who is at the same time a scholar of Islam. He debated with Edip solely on this “Miracle of the 19” issue and annihilated him on his false claims. That’s an almost 3 hours long video and only in Turkish, so I’m not gonna share here unless any of you ask for it.

For me when the Quran says obey Allah and the Messenger SAW and those who have been given authority, I do just that. If those who have been given authority differ in the matter then the Quran orders to go back to Quran and Sunnah. If you want to give up the Sunnah, which comes in at least two forms (i.e. the written one and the one that is coming through the Muslims via tradition with agreement of the whole ummah) then that's your choice. When in the Quran the order of "hijab" came, I refer to what the sahabiyat did as per Sunnah. And for me there is logic in it given the shameless society we have.
I do have a question. How do you do your salat and Hajj based on the Quran only? Please do provide references. Or do you get "inspired" by the "holy spirit"? Or the fact is that this is just an excuse to avoid being called a dayouths by your heart?

    • @osmankerimli6710
      @osmankerimli6710 Před 2 lety

@@mdjackhan First of all, there is nowhere in the Quran Allah commands to obey Prophet's sunnah. Only Allah's sunnah is mentioned. It is called Allah's sunnah and it won't change and it was applied to the past generations. Allah probably used the word sunnah on purpose. Allah says obey Allah and his messenger because messenger was a good example of what Allah has commanded and it is only valid if the messenger is alive. Do you really believe Allah commands you to believe in books which is written 200 years after the prophet? They add non-sense to the religion. Stoning to death punishment for zina? Hasn't Allah already made a punishment for zina in the Qur'an? Someone should be killed if he leaves the religion, while Qur'an says there's no compulsion in the religion. If what you said were the case, Allah would've said to you that you should obey the prophet even after he died using the books, hadiths written after him. Or using the tradition. Did Allah forgot to mention it? Astaghfirullah. Prophet didn't command anything more than what Allah has commanded. And when it comes to prayer and hajj they are easily understandable from the Quran alone. You pray three times a day. You do your bowing(ruku), prostration(sajdah) which is mentioned in the Quran, you don't have to go into details. It is not rocket science. Someone with a proper state of mind will understand how to pray. It is just that your minds are so obsessed with tradition you always search for more. There are details of washing yourself before salat, but there is no detail for how to pray? Astaghfirullah, did Allah forgot it? No, he didn't go into detail for it. You don't need details it is simple. Hajj is a conference in the Kaabah which Muslims should do in 4 haram months for discussing things and helping society. How Hajj is done today is nothing other than worshipping a stone. Yeah in your hearts you worship Allah, but the picture isn't right. You rotate around a stone, touch it. Then you go to the other stone which is "Satan" and you start to stone it. Non-sense. "Hajj" word from arabic literally means "Discussion". When it comes to the sunnah of the Prophet, then why don't you get hadiths of Isa, Musa etc. and do their sunnah too? And also what makes you believe that Bible is corrupted? Why don't you believe in Bible? ALSO, nothing comes with the tradition from the Prophet's time to this day. It is impossible. Even sela is invented in the Ottoman Empire and it is included to the religion like it was always there. Peace, go with the God/Allah's way and you will find happiness. Why do you need more than the Qur'an brother?

Good morning to every sincere believer.
      Learn better manners:
      Quran 6:52
Do not dismiss those who invoke their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure. You are not accountable for them whatsoever, nor are they accountable for you. So do not dismiss them, or you will be one of the wrongdoers.

the funny thing is that every sunnah rejecter/murtad claim that he is right because he is using his intellect, but they themselves disagree on almost everything.

No point in wasting energy on these things just make it quick and say "The same sources that brought you the hadith brought you the Quran, how do you think you got either?" Discussion over.

So, every HADITH must be SAHIH...One error/mistake in any HADITH will mean that the same will be in QURAN.
      The SAME SOURCES
This is why one should NEVER attempt to compare any WRITINGS to QURAN

@@ZeroCelsius777 Obviously I am reffering to authentic hadith wher the sources have to be authenticated via the neccessary conditions like chain of naration and multi-attested etc.. Why would you make such a ridiculous assumption that I was talking about "All" hadith when clearly anyone but a troll would know it was "All Authentic" hadith. It is like talking about water and having to mention it is wet...

@@EyeIn_The_Sky Even what the HADITHERS call AUTHENTIC Hadith is INCORRECT or totally FALSE
      Explain that
      E.g. STONING
Quran CLEARLY says 100 lashes for FORNICATION…Quran 24:2…
So we first understand the definition of fornication...
Fornication: Noun…Voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other.
Okay, got it? The FORNICATORS can be unmarried or they can be married to someone else.
Please explain why they follow something that DISOBEYS ALLAH and what he ORDERS in QURAN and want to STONE people instead.

@@EyeIn_The_Sky Then there are the Silly SUPERSTITIONS that the HADITHERS follow...
      E.g.
Anybody knows why we YAWN. We yawn when the blood needs oxygen. A yawn causes a big intake of air and a faster heartbeat, which means that it is pumping more oxygen through the body.
So a yawn is simply designed to help clear toxins out of the blood and provide a fresh supply of oxygen.
HOWEVER...ask some HADITHER and they will say...
      Bukhari, volume 4, book 54, number 509 & Sahih Muslim, book 42, hadith 7130…
      WHAT THE?!

If you believe that the Quran comes from or is preserved by scholars you're not believing in what the Quran says about itself. Which is fine, but then what is your religion then if it is not based on Quran?

45:6 is crystal clear that believing in hadith after Quran is wrong. In fact prophet Muhammad himself was unaware of sahih bukhari &other hadith books, which means the word 'sahih' itself is already a huge lie.
