Taking into account the geographical distance between these manuscripts and fragments, we can determine their point of origin and the wording of the originals. The Greek New Testaments we have today are 99.6% accurate to the originals, which we can trace back to less than 50 years after Jesus' death, and the 0.4% of inaccuracies are always between one of two ways to write it. So yes, the Bible has been not only well preserved, but in fact miraculously so. Meanwhile, the Qur'an needs a (300 years late) story about 7 original recitations in order to justify the manuscript differences. The Bible needs no such defense.

Sahih Bukhari 6.61.527. “Umar said, ‘Ubay was the best of us in the recitation of the Qur’an yet we leave out some of what he recites.’ Ubay says, ‘I have taken it from the mouth of Allah’s Messenger and will not leave it out for anything whatever.’ ” So the very best reciter of the Quran was adamant that verses of the Quran have been left out. Muhammad himself chose Ubay as one of the best teachers of the Quran, and yet he disagreed with today’s Quran.

The many different Canons (New Testaments) that Christians believe in, and the hundreds of manuscripts: There existed many different Bibles during the time of the Roman Emperor, Constantine, which were widely believed in by different Christian sects in the year 312. In other words, during the first 3 centuries of "Christianity" (300 years), many different canons with 100s of books/gospels combined existed! That is a lot of canons, a lot of books/gospels, and a lot of time (300 years) of different Christian religions existed. Also, Constantine's own "unified canon or bible" got lost and only small portions of it were found! So what we have today from "Bible(s)" are not even Constantine's books. Conclusion: The early Christians' doctrines clearly and indisputably confirm that Jesus, peace be upon him, never got crucified. The lies that had been invented after the departure of Jesus about his crucifixion were all man-made. This is why you see the "Gospels" of the New Testaments of today were all written by third-party narrations. They are not original, and the theologians and historians of the Bibles of today claim this as well.

Also, the Roman Empire during the 4th century had a lot of religions, one which was especially prevalent before Christianity took hold was Mithraism, Constantine himself was a Mithrat before converting. The council of Nicea that met in Constantinople influenced the true Christianity of Jesus (pbuh) with polytheistic doctrines like salvation through sacrifice of the son of God etc. Gradually Jesus’s teachings got lost, and the teachings of Paul of Tarsus as well as European folk religions infiltrated Christianity. And those are not “10 different Qurans” what you might be referring to is the different dialects of the Quran, which means that even if it was the pronounced differently, the meaning was the exact same, and the words written were the same, only the pronunciation differed.

How come you all purged the Gospel of Marcion and other gnostic texts? The first published draft of any book, even today, will have scribal errors and transmission errors. After a few years, two decades really, the number of manuscripts with bad or false insertions become too much (like Marcion writing his own gospel to rule them all) and these need to be purged in order that the true faith is spread, and not clever additions. We didn't have Xerox and PDF files to lock back then. Would have been much easier. Unfortunately everything is copied by fallible human hands. That's why Iraneus and Tertullian had to codify the NT canon a century later. The Qur'an was codified with two decades.

Alhamdulillah, very well put. Whenever I hear these so-called scholars in the West try to speak about the Quran and can barely even pronounce the Arabic correctly, I can't help but laugh. It's like seeing a kindergarten class opening up a Medical book and then trying to play Doctor. In their own little classroom they may seem knowledgeable, but anyone standing outside the classroom can't help but laugh.
I know someone who memorised about 18% of the Quran by listening to it without textual aid by the age of 9 years. He also didn't know Arabic. If people can do it now, they definitely could have done it in the early Islamic period.

@Sage of Synergism you're conflating two separate events. Lol. The variants uthman found and destroyed were by those who had newly come to Islam and had written the Quran down as they heard it. Naturally, making mistakes cos you can't always catch the letters. E.g. ottoman is a mutilation of uthman. So he gathered them, destroyed them, standardised them with consensus and sent a mushaf with a qura'a to teach the people properly. Case closed

There's two extremes here. I think new Western academia shouldn't be completed dismissed and at the same time we shouldn't put all our weight into it. Muslims should definitely ground themselves in traditional knowledge and then jump into western academia to refute them. May Allah guide us and protect us.

Salaam, i have listened to this brother a few occasions, however for whatever reason i never felt at ease or relaxed ! Allah is my witness i was just trying to learn basic stuff about the Deen, but almost every other minute i couldn't help it but notice something peculiar ! i couldn't pinpoint it ! I then went on to listen to other talks by the DR, he seems knowledgeable mashaAllah at the same time i notice a bit of insecurity and doubts ! very confusing to say the least. But may Allah reward the real students of knowledge who teach the Quran and Sunnah as it was left by the Prophet (s.a.w) . May Allah give us all Tawfiq.
With regards to the Qirā’āt being Mutawātirah despite us seeing a very finite amount of Asānīd, this happens quite frequently in those matters which are considered “general” knowledge e.g. The fact that Islām has 5 pillars is known by any and all, despite the Ahādīth mentioning that being narrated by relatively only a few individuals

The first published draft of any book, even today, will have scribal errors and transmission errors. After a few years, two decades really, the number of manuscripts with bad or false insertions become too much (like Marcion writing his own gospel to rule them all) and these need to be purged in order that the true faith is spread, and not clever additions. We didn't have Xerox and PDF files to lock back then. Would have been much easier. Unfortunately everything is copied by fallible human hands. That's why Iraneus and Tertullian had to codify the NT canon a century later. The Qur'an was codified with two decades.

The variants uthman found and destroyed were by those who had newly come to Islam and had written the Quran down as they heard it. Naturally, making mistakes cos you can't always catch the letters. E.g. ottoman is a mutilation of uthman.
So he gathered them, destroyed them, standardised them with consensus and sent a mushaf with a qura'a to teach the people properly.

There's two extremes here. I think new Western academia shouldn't be completed dismissed and at the same time we shouldn't put all our weight into it. Muslims should definitely ground themselves in traditional knowledge and then jump into western academia to refute them. May Allah guide us and protect us.
I think that people think modern western academics are smarter than anyone else and think they don't come with bias. No offense but these people who write these bad refutations against Islam never come with the intention to learn Islam properly they just try and sound eloquent and trick people.

Salaam, i have listened to this brother a few occasions, however for whatever reason i never felt at ease or relaxed ! Allah is my witness i was just trying to learn basic stuff about the Deen, but almost every other minute i couldn't help it but notice something peculiar ! i couldn't pinpoint it ! I then went on to listen to other talks by the DR, he seems knowledgeable mashaAllah at the same time i notice a bit of insecurity and doubts ! very confusing to say the least. But may Allah reward the real students of knowledge who teach the Quran and Sunnah as it was left by the Prophet (s.a.w) . May Allah give us all Tawfiq.
With regards to the Qirā’āt being Mutawātirah despite us seeing a very finite amount of Asānīd, this happens quite frequently in those matters which are considered “general” knowledge e.g. The fact that Islām has 5 pillars is known by any and all, despite the Ahādīth mentioning that being narrated by relatively only a few individuals

I just wanna say, very nice job Dr Yasir Qadhi.. You just made yourself more *acceptable to the West* ! His followers are mainly lay Muslims, and he confuses them, plays with them with the doubts and thoughts he has... After Yale, this guy changed.. This is a lesson for us.. No matter how much knowledge you have, Hidayah may not be with you.. Just recall the Dua of Prophet Muhammad PBUH of making heart firm in Deen even though none can reach him in Imam, and also his (PBUH) saying to the Sahaba about Hidayah....
he wants to secularise islam ..like they have done with all the other world major religions....but its impossible...he also claims muslims leaving islam..i havent meet any muslim who have left islam in my life !!!..but i witnessed many reverts to islam...subhaanallah.

some opinions believe the ahruuf are different words with complimentary meanings)?
-Where are the 7 ahruuf now?
-Are they represented in the qiraat?
- If so have we as an Ummah done our due diligence to recognize them all?
- When Allah says that We will preserve the Quran what constitutes the Quran - all the ahruuf, One Ahruuf or the message of the Quran?
