  • Owning the Sony Rx10iv for 1 year , there are only a few niggles nothing major but a couple of improvements for the mk v would be nice. but its still the best all in one camera in the world.
    super slow motion doesn't always work well it seems to not like certain conditions. Apologies for the sound being slightly out of sync .

    I think I'm almost at 1.5 years with mine now. I've carried that thing deep into wilderness, had it in snow, rain, and dust. Just an all around joy to shoot, where I don't want to bring my a9 or a7R3 and lens. I have even gotten it into several professional sports games, since it is not an interchangeable lens and when off is fairly compact. It's amazing the places I am able to get that camera into.

Only the batteries needed changes, but the camera performed almost faultless. Take my word ....I have used this camera everywhere and so satisfied.

    I bought this camera in September after watching your reviews and it just keeps making me smile I took it with me to a wedding recently where I was shooting predominately with my XT 2 but found myself picking it up more and more often just to grab that close intimate shot without intrusion combining that with its movie and slow mo capabilities gave me so many options yes of course if you really pixel peep it's never going to hold up as well as a full frame or crop sensors that are out there but in the real world whether viewed I as up to A3 print or as a slideshow on a HD tv it just won't matter as it will appear every bit a sharp and pleasing

    Absolutely love mine, which I bought after watching your channel. I have some great pictures with it, but yours really do show me how I can improve :) The only reason I will also buy a full frame camera now is because I have go into astrophotography, and it looks like I need full frame and a fast wide angle lens if I want to avoid using my tracker and panoramas for the milky way. For daytime rambling and travelling I can't see me swopping lenses every time I see a new scene or distant wildlife, also you never know what interesting things will suddenly turn up. Maybe I'll find the full frame and wider angle useful for the landscapes I return to now and then or for photgraphing buildings.

    What I am seeing, is that cameras such as these, because they are so accessible at any time for many uses. The camera you have with you, is the best camera to have. I may migrate to these super zooms 'point and shoot' cameras and sell my A65, A55, and A300. I am tired of hauling a gang of gear. I thought about it this way; these cameras right now are better then the early DSLRs. These cameras are only going to improve. These cameras settle a dilemma of 'what to carry'. They are not the complete 'fix', but do relax the burden some, and have a few issues to iron out yet. I am not getting rid of my A7 mark 4, but my word...the lenses are stupid spendy. Which this camera solves to some degree...it is in its own right...a complete kit. Wish the sensor was even larger.....

    • @sjm.photos
      @sjm.photos  Před 3 lety

      sadly the sensor couldnt be larger due to the size they decided on if it was bigger the lens would be enormous using my a7riv and other sony mirrorless then picking up the rx10iv yes its brilliant but you do have to use a few different techniques compared to using a full frame interchangable camera.

    Do you have proccesed your photos and video samples here? 'I've watching all your videos, and Im not sure, but I see great diference on quality on various samples: sometimes verry sharp, incredible colours, etc; but sometimes the images and videos looks very noisy and with a ugly kind of "mist" and overexposed (specially on videos about nature, birds, landscapes - on zoo pfor example- or very sunny days photo/videos). I'm very intersted in this camera and the pocket Lumix 100 lxII but , in the second one the lack of a external mic support is a great problem to me, but this camera looks incredible in some situations and very dissapointed in other. I thank you for your response, I want this camera but Im worried about these quality variations, and it makes me think on the Lumix: not a great zoom, but excellent photo and video quality ¿is this camera so many variable in its quality?... Sorry for my english, Im not speak this lenguage. Excellent videos

      If.you keep.the iso at iso 100 as.much a possible it.is.amazing. if.you shoot iso1000 you need to add.noise reduction. Quality is very good and the best camera out there. I shoot fully manual and that is the difference over others using program modes. Which can reduce quality. I suggest trying one before you buy one. I do process my images yes but we are thinking 30 seconds per photo in photoshop. Hope that helps.

      i only ever really process ie raw small adjustments thats it 30 seconds max per image or some even straight from the camera. thats it id rather be out taking photos and getting it as good as possible in camera rather than relying on editing to fix a photo. and remember this is now video so they have been hugely compressed down to 1080p from a much larger 5463x3642 pixel images

    • @sjm.photos
      @sjm.photos  Před 3 lety

      i rarely even edit anymore i love to keep things real , i have used both the rx100 and obviously own the rx10iv the rx100 is brilliant it fits in the pocket but its very restriced compared to the rx10iv mainly because the lens on the rx10iv is amazing so much reach to wide angle and f2.4-f4 but with a short 72cm at 600mm minimum focus its good for wildlife like butterflies and obviously birds in flight and more. even at 24mm you can focus to the end of the lens hood so like 2 inches its awesome for its useability one reason its a win in my book. yes its bigger but it only ways 1kg.

    • @azzamfs
      @azzamfs Před 3 lety

      @@sjm.photos Thank you for the reply. Also, in my opinion, Sony might be killing off the RX line. There's no RX100 for 2020 (ZV-1 pretty much is the RX100 for the year 2020) and there is no iteration for the rest of the RX line products, namely the RX100, RX10, RX1 anda RX0. The latest product that came out of the RX line was RX100M7 and RX0M2 in 2019. So, maybe there will be no RX10M5, and it will be replaced with a whole different model.

    I have the Sony RX10iv and still finding my way around it, but find the image quality very poor. This camera was supposed to end me having to take two cameras and my canon 100-400 to air shows and events, but unfortunately the image quality isn't good enough. I did take it to an airshow, and thought it would be great with the extra reach and 24 frames a second, but came home disappointed.
