I was a 90s kid. Spider-Man, Aladdin, Gargoyles, X-Men, The Tick, Rocko, Ren/Stimpy, Batman, but Looney Tunes, Tom/Jerry, Jetsons, Wacky Races in syndication blocks too, God, those were the days.

Heck yeah! Aladdin the series, X-Men, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy were some of my main favorites. Those were awesome!

While streaming is, and will be, the dominant form of tv distribution, over-the-air (OTA) is making a comeback; seems similar to how FM radio outlived satellite radio but podcasts/streaming radio has become the dominant audio distribution forum.

I miss Saturday morning cartoons. The last hurrah for that I can think of was Fox Kids in the early 2000's and I was routinely watching even though I was 20 at the time. One of the nicest memories for Saturday morning cartoons was when it was followed by syndicated WWF shows! With that combo I could pretty much watch TV from breakfast to lunch.

Never had cable growing up so MeTV was my go to channel and now I'm super stoked for all the old cartoons coming back. But seriously I'm probably the only 19yo that knows what Gilligan's Island, Mash, Mama's Family, and The Rifleman are.
And I'm ridiculously excited that freaking GoBots is gonna be on there. Look I'm a huge Transformers fan anyway so Gobots being included also gives me hope that maybe Hasbro will work out a deal to get G1 on there as well.

I’m going on 48 years of age and I still watch the old cartoons daily after work sitting down and relaxing
I grew up in the 90s and that was peak. You had kids shows every morning 7 days a week across every basic network and every weekday afternoon and you also had kids shows on the kid-centric cable channels. The amount of stuuf for kids on TV during that decade was unreal.
Traditional animation is a lost art. I want it back so bad.

Boomerang is a Cartoon Network spin-off. In the past they used 2 air ALL of the Hanna-Barbera shows. But I'm thrilled with the news that a lot of the classic shows such as Woody Woodpecker, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Speed Racet & more are coming bk. Props 2 METV

I have very fond memories of watching Tom and Jerry as a kid in the 80s with my grandpa. He f'n loved it and would laugh regularly even though he watched them hundreds of times.

Agree. It just breaks my heart to see what Saturday morning has become! Animal rescue shows and science educational crap! And the poor kids who can't afford cable have to sit through those depressing shows. Saturday used to be the ONE day of the week you didn't have to be educated! Unless your kid wants to grow up to be a vet, what 7 year old really wants to see an antelope giving birth at the zoo!
I hope Metv can bring back Pink Panther and the Inspector.

I find it hilarious that Jim dismisses video games but he loves cartoons.
That is because he grew up with most of those cartoons, the 80s onwards grew up with the same cartoons and video games

Saturday mornings cartoons is how i got introduced to wrestling. It went cartoons, spot fishing with Dan hernandez, then wrestling. On KTTY channel 69.

Finally, a true cartoon channel just as cartoon network was.
The cartoons were doing great ratings on MeTV proper, the overhead is really low, and the audience wasn't really getting fulfilled anywhere else. Makes sense to me.
Maybe AEW should move to MeTV, sandwiched between a block of cartoons to boost ratings.

When I was a kid, we had a local UHF channel that played all the old Merrie melodies, Hanna-Barbera (lots of Top Cat), current stuff, you name it. Herculoids and Jonny Quest and all of it. It was the fucking best.

I feel like Saturday Morning Cartoons died in 2014 when CW stopped their Vortex block (Formerly 4Kids Toonzai)
It would air anime like Sonic X, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z and Yugioh as well as other generally regular cartoons.
Not to mention MMPR and lost galaxy

I heard this the other night during Toony and was sooo happy. The best growing up in the 70s and 80s.
I loved the 80s Friday night seasonal shows that showed you previews of the new cartoons the next day. It usually had a story that centered around the cartoons.
The new aew tag team champions Heckle and Jeckle.
Recently, Catchy Comedy ran a weekend marathon of Looney Tunes, and it was freak'n awesome!
