To all the sports logos - Chief Wahoo is my favorite logo and stickers. I think, that's not a discrimination gesture. That's a tribute to the Native American Indian (Chief Wahoo) tribe.. 🙏🎉👍❤️
Yeah well they don’t tell the full history this was the symbol outside of stores for people to turn in native body parts for money. They called these parts “redskins.” Also it being red is racist in itself bc it’s what colonizers called natives bc of their skin which clearly isn’t really red. It’s crazy not one news story tells the full history of chief wahoo. Smh
Actually many Natives wore red war paint so over time they were referred to as redskins. It wasn’t a racist term. As for the Chief Wahoo logo, whatever anyone who used the logo outside of its intended purpose did with the logo is irrelevant. I could use any sports logo for something hateful/racist and possibly even start a trend. That wouldn’t make the logo bad or racist just because I used it for something other than its original intended purpose.

What people dont realize is that this keeps their culture alive. Watched multiple interviews with Native Americans where they dont find it offensive but gracious for the honor for their culture.

I support BLM Movement, but I think that names like "Cleveland Indians" and "Atlanta Braves", on the contrary, reaffirm the importance of Native American People and its culture for most Americans. Obviously, the reason of those names is to honor Native Peoples, to pay tribute to them.
Native Americans aren’t Indians. It’s like calling a black the N word. It’s not surprising how ignorant the majority of the population is.

People have always referred to Native Americans as Indians and it was never intended to be demeaning. You can’t erase history. Do you realize many Natives even refer to themselves as Indians? I know I’m very late but I would say that it’s a fine line, for example having a tomahawk as a logo is honoring native people doing a tomahawk chop and making fun of native songs is offensive
Then get rid of all names and of everything. Now if the Indian symbol showed him scalping someone then that would be something. Then the names of all should be names of the hometown. They will be just be called Cleveland baseball team no decals at all. They are not racist just colorful
I like wearing Cleveland Indians gear, especially around leftists. Good thing the Atlanta Braves and KANSAS CITY CHIEFS have not changed their name.

Good! The Washington Redskins, Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Braves, and Florida State Seminoles need to change their name and logo as well. It’s derogatory and racist. Their culture is not for your amusement.
I don't know about the others but the FSU Seminoles have permission from the Seminole Nation. I don't know all the details but the school has some sort of deal that covers a lot of things, even having someone of Seminole decent play the role of Chief Osceola. I get there point but there can be a middle ground. Just not sure the Washington team wants to sit down and make a deal with every Native American Nation just for the rights to keep the name.
