Why did Justin look like he shat his pants on the Great Wall of China? And I do recognize narcissistic personality disorder, my fate hr had it, and Justin would probably damage his kids even more. He had to study martial arts, or he would get so many shit kicking,s, and probably still will in places like China where he is outranked by 12 year old Kung Fu kids, were all saw Kung Fu Hustle!
But that is what happens when an emotionally and intellectually undeveloped child ends up with millions of dollars, why should they grow up? Because your a dick if you dont' but I doubt he cares. He is surrounded by a fake world as a result, nothing is real, especially his "friends". When the money is gone, they will go too.
That was a lot! I feel like I should put "The End" below...still, it's only 2 cents worth.

You started off by mentioning Bill Murray as an example of what you were not about to talk about. Here’s a story of why. A friend of mine was traveling on business and had a layover. He was sitting in the airport bar and noticed that the guy down the bar from him was Bill. He worked up the nerve and went over to say “hi”. After a short conversation, my friend offered to buy him a drink. Bill looked at him and said (probably not an exact quote) “why would you do that? It’s because of fans like you that I am where I am today. I should be buying you a drink.” He then called the bartender over to do just that. Legend!

Every time Simon mentions Bill Murray being a legend I can't help but remember that Bill Murray is the reason we never got Ghostbusters 3. He got into a fight with Harold Ramis and, due to a clause in the contract, refused to let another movie get made. Ramis (and the others) attempted for several years to get another movie made, even offering to buy Murray out of his share. The only thing he was willing to do was to allow them to make the movie so long as he didn't have to be in it (or died immediately) but would receive a significant percentage of the film profits... of the film he didn't want to have a part in.
After Ramis died Murray subsequently decided "sure let's let a new Ghostbusters get made... so long as I get paid a metric f*ckton of cash." Hence: Ghostbusters 2016. Then Afterlife, where he also got paid quite a bit of money.
This isn't even mentioning the countless times he's been abusive or just straight up an irrational d-bag to people behind the scenes.
In summary: Bill Murray is not a legend. He's an arrogant jerk who has convinced people he's a legend by having capable comedy writers play up the "lovable jerk" angle early in his career.

bill Murray is a self obsessed fraud.

    • @ValosiTiamata
      @ValosiTiamata Před rokem +12

To be fair, Ghostbusters 3 was actually made, just not as a movie. Ramis took the original draft script for Ghostbusters (which simply couldn't be made due to the amount of SFX necessary) and used the concepts to wrap up the trilogy. The result - which Bill Murray DID reprise his role for - was Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
The game revisits locations from the first two movies and ties everything together, explaining a lot of the plot holes and leading to a confrontation with the spirit of Shandor himself. Ramis and Akroyd have both declared the game to be the official finale to the trilogy, and the fandom has mostly agreed.
After Ghostbusters: Afterlife came out, a splinter group claimed that the game was no longer canon because one of the collectibles was supposedly Shandor's skull. However, if you collect the item, you find the talking skull is that of some comically depressed and pessimistic soul. Thus, while Shandor may have owned the skull, it obviously wasn't his own skull. Additionally, while the game mentions that his followers buried him in New York, both the game and Afterlife make it clear that Shandor didn't trust his followers, and that he had those few he DID trust sneak off with his body and transport it to the mine. Ironically, when Gozer returns, Shandor tries to suck up to it, but Gozer clearly remembers what happened in the game and reacts appropriately.
Bill Murray is notoriously difficult to work with as an actor. He's almost never on time and can be very fickle or temperamental. However, he's done several interviews talking about how the Ghostbusters 3 scripts were always the issue, not Harold Ramis himself. Thankfully, Terminal Reality was able to bring the best out of these scripts and the drafts from the first movie to create something truly wonderful. The game not only allowed us to get the big finale (and also the extra-dimensional plot elements from Dan Akroyd's original draft that Ramis had tried to bring back one of the failed G3 drafts), it also meant that Murray could perform his lines on his own schedule without having to share a set - which made production go far smoother than that of the first two movies.

It's perfectly understandable how someone suffering from a migraine could be mistaken for having a stroke. A migraine is a neurological condition and not everyone who gets migraine gets headaches! When I have a migraine, I rarely get a headache, but my eye on one side drops quite noticeably, I start slurring and losing words making me difficult to understand, I get confused and experience memory issues, sometimes severely and lose balance and coordination to the point I can't do simple tasks like fasten a zip or walk. Compare that to the symptoms of a stroke and you'll see they are quite similar, to the extent I've had to talk a GP out of calling me an ambulance, which is quite challenging when I'm struggling to string a coherent sentence together that can actually be understood.

I have colleagues who work in VERY high-profile places, and they are pretty much sworn to secrecy about who is in their hotel, maybe a few months later they will tell me about how the president of France or the CEO of Apple was there but can't go into too much details. Something the script missed here is that the crew came back to the hotel and found no food and then went into the bar to wait while someone brought them something. The altercation happened an hour or so later when they came back with sandwiches and by then they were fairly drunk. And of course, Clarkson then regretted it once he was sober. That doesn't excuse his behavior, but quite a few people have done things that they regret once they were sober. He was perfectly sober when he punched Morgan, and Morgan justifiably deserved it.

I was a backup musician in college and we worked backup for acts who generally hired horn sections or other backup or stage crew locally. Idea For DTU Topic:
I think the Arthurian Legend would be a good topic to cover, not to uncover if Arthur was actually real but rather to determine all of the components that were used to creat the legend we know today. You guys could start with main well-known legend, then break it down into the different myths and historical figures that have contributed to the legend, going by time period from the pre-druid mythologies and heroes, through the Druidic era of Britain, and into the Christian era of Britain and how the Holy Grail was added to the story when the Church took interest in the island. Then end with the writer(and also Simon) giving what they believe to be the most likely development of the legend.
I think that this topic is familiar enough to draw peoole in, with ample chances for asides and tangents throughout, and enough historical and mythological content to drive Simon batty and inspire several "the past was the worst" outbursts.

As for making her a role model? From a movie that's reception was mixed to poor? "Time magazine named it one of the top 10 worst chick flicks." It doesn’t say she came to the room for that reason - she was probably there to clean. Even so, the maintenance staff at hotels have it bad enough - poor benefits and minimum wage - she didn’t have to report it and get the lady fired. If you’re turning down beds all day and cleaning up after strangers, you’re probably not turning down other lucrative jobs to do so.

It doesn't matter if she knocked on the door to ask for an autograph or did it while cleaning the room. It's a huge no no and all staff know it's a fireable offense. Reporting it was the right thing to do and so was firing her. I've worked as a cleaner (not with famous people) and while the work is hard, it's not hard to follow the rules. I knew what behaviours would get me fired so I didn't do them.

You can have your opinion and I can have mine - that’s what the comments section is for.
They just make it seem much more overt than it could have been, and getting someone fired for asking for an autograph (even if against company policy or general accepted practices) is just kinda low when you’re a huge star and have other things you should be concerning yourself with and don’t even appreciate how important the job is to the person in question. It reeks of classism.
I worked in the Ritz-Carlton and dealt with famous people several times, and would never ask for an autograph because it’s unprofessional and kind of impolite, but if it had been someone I was a huge fan off and I ended up making some comment (treating them as anything other than a guest) I could see getting reprimanded, but getting fired for a one time occurrence that doesn’t include stealing or violating a guest’s privacy seems a little harsh - especially if the celeb were to report it themselves. If it was one of her team, that would be more understandable. We don’t have all the facts, so we can’t say she was egregiously in the wrong.

The idea is to start with a diet of foods that don't typically cause the symptoms you're investigating (EG: migraines), then add in foods until the migraines recur. Then you just avoid the foods you identified, and go back to eating everything else.

They tour all over Europe, and Australia and New Zealand and play to packed houses. I saw them last year in Central New York. I was very early for the show, doing other stuff in town, and walked past the venue. Outside the tour bus with some roadies was the mandolin player. I would've been too shy to say anything, but when he saw my band shirt, he said, "I like your shirt!" and stuck his hand out for a shake. Later I saw the lead singer hanging out by the bus chatting with a little girl and her parents. I blurted out, "I'm so glad you guys are here!" (Brilliant, right?!), and he cocked his head and grinned and answered, "Well, we're glad you're here, too!" There are 26,000 fans in their biggest fan club, and many post photos of themselves taken with the band before and after shows, even at restaurants. Such a lovely bunch of guys! Three of them have been together since kindergarten, and the fourth since university. Talent, friendship, loyalty, and kindness for their fans all rolled up in one!

    • @MsMaryPatricia

I disagree. Reporting and firing the employee was the right course of action. All staff know you're not supposed to ask for autographs/photos or engage in any sort of fan fare. Once the employee crossed that line there was no going back. Who's to say they wouldn't ask for more or even worse, tell their friends where the star was staying so they could get one too. You can easily replace a cleaner but the hotel relies on their reputation. If they lose that, celebs stop coming and that puts more jobs at risk than just the cleaner who couldn't follow rules.

Absolutely, these people should get fired. You are there to perform a job, not harrass the guests. I worked for a hole in the wall restaurant in my late teens and there was a blizzard that shut down the airport's from NYC to Boston and Tyme Daily was being driven from one city to the other in a BLIZZARD and stopped at our restaurant as it was the only place open. It was me (the hostess), one waitress, and the manager (who was cooking). I immediately recognized her when she walked in. I said good afternoon, Ms. Daily, smoking, or non? Sat her and walked away. The waitress couldn't stop STARING at her, nor could she form a coherent sentence while taking her order. I noticed Ms. Daily becoming more and more uncomfortable. I went to the manager and spoke with him about it. He went to her and asked how things were going and when the waitress came back all googley, she asked if I could be her waitress. I literally just treated her like a normal person. When she was done eating, she asked me to come over and sit with her. It was amazing to just talk with her. She asked me about myself and stayed away from herself. I avoided asking her about her life, and when she left, I got a nice 500 tip, and the other 2 got 50 because they couldn't keep their starstruck selves from gawking and stammering.

Although not a fan of his I feel the need to defend Jeremy Clarkson. We know from sources on that day he was working when his father had recently died, his wife was in the process of becoming his ex-wife and he was having a generally shitty day. No excuse you might say, and despite being prevailed upon by the BBC's lawyers to say otherwise Jeremy Clarkson would agree with you. He said other people have had just as bad a day and they didn't start punching their workmates in the face.
Being Jeremy Clarkson he added it wasn't as if Oisin Tymon was Richard Hammond or James May who, he intimated, were much more deserving of a physical assault. Further Oisin Tymon himself refused to report the incident to the BBC because he was aware of the precarious state of mind Clarkson had been in and it was Clarkson himself who reported the incident to the BBC.
Finally Jeremy Clarkson has said the BBC were right to sack him because such behaviour is not in any way acceptable under any circumstances. That is not the behaviour of someone entitled it is the behaviour of someone who had a really bad day, was a bit of tosser on that really bad day, and accepts and owns it.
I was as happy as anyone else to dump on Jeremy Clarkson for this incident but a deeper dive proved I was wrong and for all his many other failings - and they're many - Clarkson is not an entitled prick.

Speaking of divas and sun in the eyes...have you heard that story of captain on a battle ship and the sun was shining in his eyes during a briefing so he ordered the bridge crew to turn the ship a couple degrees so the sun wouldn't be in his eyes anymore? Instead of just standing in a different spot lol

The way I heard it he was sitting down to eat iirc, only to realize as he sat down that the light was in his face so he called up to the bridge and had them alter the course slightly.. Either way, legendary move

I live in Los Angeles and my dad was in the movie business so I met lots of celebrities growing up and have never fawned over any of them, they’re just people. I have had two memorable encounters those and the first one I’ll mention is when Bette Midler came into the stationery store I worked in when I was a teen and as I had always loved her music, etc I did say to her that I was a big fan and she was extremely negative, no smile and no thanks, just a bad attitude. The second one is when I was waiting tables at a vegetarian restaurant and market and Lyndsay Wagner, who starred in my absolute favorite tv show when I was a kid, The Bionic Woman came in and was shopping in the store part and I went up to her and quietly told her that I absolutely loved her! She was so positive, friendly, receptive, gracious and kind and we had a conversation that went on for several minutes. What a gem! Fame tends to go to too many people’s heads and they get extremely distorted egos and turn into buttholes to put it lightly. Especially those who start out as child stars…it generally ruins their lives in various ways and some get permanently ruined by the sense of entitlement and grandiosity that can happen. Like severely spoiled kids who are never told no, get everything handed to them on a silver platter and never have any consequences for bad behavior….it absolutely ruins them! And they go onto ruin the lives or days of those around them.

If I had to deal with someone like Jen when I was a server I’d have done the exact opposite of anything she wanted or didn’t want. She doesn’t want this on her salad, well she just got extra added to it. Plus said salad will take 30+ minutes to be brought to the table

    • @xejelah
      @xejelah Před 11 měsíci +1

That's what I remember! Back in the day the servers had their own website to warn other servers what celebs to watch for that tip crap. J.lo was the lead on everyone. She'd leave change and even went so far as to tip $10 for +$1000 meal. When she was with Ben in '03 he left a black jack dealer a $100 bill - Jen picked it up and left what she thought was more appropriate - the guy said Ben came back, apologized for her behavior, and gave him the money back. That site went down in '05.

And in this video, he mentioned how he drank his 'meal replacement'. Does this mean Danny has finally escaped the basement, and Simon's had to find a substitute?

Most of the interviews I've seen regarding Clarksons producer punching from people not on but around the staff, people from automotive manufacturers on set and such often say said producer was a bit of a pushy bellend himself, so not that it was right but it was likely long time coming and less about a cold steak.
