You sent my HomePod off every time you say “HEY SIRI”.
Time for a bizarre tangent.
The Edmonton corn maze in Canada was created to copy the no longer existent Edmondton corn maze in the United States.
This maze itself was built to copy the Edmington corn maze in the north of England which still exists today but the town has since changed its name.
Cue all the irate English people complaining about America copying all their things, lol.
There's actually a good reason why the first corn maze originates in England even though corn itself does not.
There was a manor house in Edmington UK that had its gardens open to the public where there was a large hedge maze.
Unfortunately people did what people do and soon the general public had completely wrecked the hedge maze so it was closed off to the public.
Seizing the opportunity a local corn farmer fashioned his own maze out of his corn crops to profit from the lack of hedge maze and thus the corn maze was born.
Simon's parents totally stole his bike then regifted it back to him. Classic ❤

Best thing I've ever seen on Google street view was my daddy's house, with him in the shot, outside, a few months after he died.
I’m glad you found that! I once found a picture of a friend on our university group’s webpage a few months after she passed, and it felt like one more memory with her.
I once saw my dad on Google Street View at a random house years after he went to get milk. Maybe he was asking them for milk...

My fave non wholesome one is a dude I'd see in my neighborhood all the time full on picking his nose... Right up there... I showed himself. Was too funny he was so embarrassed
@@ThatWriterKevin u and Simon clash a lot in this episode… good stuff! Lol.
Also I’m glad I didn’t reply about this earlier when I first started watching this. I was confused about the wording and my dumbass thought the father was dead in the picture. Sorry for your loss tho. Rereading it with full attention I read it.
Gotta love that Kevin’s dark brutality still catches Simon off guard lol.. “he didn’t have any blood left to test”…
Simon’s parents have helped me be a better parent. That story he told about them adding batteries to all the toys and resealing them like new just so he could play with them right away for Christmas was ridiculously great advice. It’s more charging the batteries and updating software now but truly great.
I ALWAYS warn parents buying consoles for Christmas that if they don't pre-update the console the kid won't play till 12/26 😅😅 sometimes they know already at least
@@ColaKitty9595I did this for my sister when I bought her a switch. Went a did all the downloads for the console + games so she wouldn't have to wait forever on Christmas.

Simon is the one who is held prisoner. You remember when he named his lamp and space heater? And he never actually leaves his office. A CZcams channel is a great excuse to travel to places.
The editing on Brain Blaze is so incredible. The subtle music cue for the tangent cracked me up even before the visual popped up. Great job, Sam.

@@samuel_avila I've only just seen this! Sorry. You're a genius!
It's fantastic but the only thing I don't understand is why Simon doesn't have a copy of the image that he's talking about, sometimes it would be so much better if he were looking at it too.
@@samuel_avilalegend.
Wow! Simon's evolving into his next form! He's been able to become conscious that he had started going on a tangent within the tangent he was already taking and stopped himself because it was inappropriate for the intro!
Can you imagine the tangents he goes on when he is teaching his kids something. They don't understand him and neither do we sometimes but he does it anyway lol
Please, the only reason for the writers at this point is to set Simon up for his tangential monologues. 😅
@@pakde8002 I don't think Simon needs help going on tangents. I'm pretty sure he could be having a perfectly normal conversation with someone, he will get a memory of something and talk about that. Then go back to what he was originally saying lol Especially after a pint or 3 lol

Those pidgeon masks are a perfect example of what pulling pranks for the internet SHOULD be like. Instead of all those bozos on your typical prank channel imagine if prank channels all did harmless yet funny stuff like that.

I used Google Maps to find every house I have ever lived in. At 60+ years old and moving every couple of years at some points, that was a LOT of houses. But oddly fun. (The very first house is actually gone (unfit to live in even when I was there). But the structure that was also on the land is still there.)
I've used it to find some of the filming locations from some of my favorite movies
I was checking out the street view of my family's old home place because I was living overseas and feeling a little homesick. The neighbor who actually was my babysitter 60 years ago was at her mailbox apparently just returning home from the hospital as I could clearly see the patient bracelet still on her wrist as she opened her mailbox. Maybe because her face was in profile the Ai didn't blur her image. It was probably the last picture taken of her since she passed away shortly after the trip to the hospital. The picture brought back memories of the neighbor and my grandmother meeting at the road to get the mail immediately after the rural mailman made his rounds for a daily dose of friendly chatting (and gossip). Thanks for that memory Google maps.
Google maps was such a cool tool to give little kids a sense of the world. I worked at a low income area school and these kids hadn’t traveled more than maybe an hour out of their area. So I’d start on street view to show the school and we’d “walk” around to places they knew, then I could zoom out and show the city, the state, the country. Then we would look at other places in our state. Then pretend to take a plane and I could tell them how many hours the plane ride would be and we’d look at monuments and things. Free field trips lol. Then I could explain the concept of other countries and hold up a globe to show how we were moving around the planet.
The kids loved it. Some of them got interested in geography and started little hobbies studying other places. It was terrific. And I should be clear that we didn’t do this for hours every day or anything. It was just a nice transition activity or something to occupy them during dismissal or such.
Then I switched schools and was told not to do it because it’s too much screen time. It was so interactive and I’d seen such positive results. I wasn’t putting on a tv show for them and, AGAIN, it was an occasional activity. Whatever. Rant finished.
That's lovely. Good for you.
That sounds like such a good way to get kids engaged and teach them about geography, especially when they don't have much opportunity to travel!
@@WelcomeApathy Thank you. Covid made me rethink being in the traditional classroom. Educators got screwed maybe as much as retail workers (medical workers still taking top prize).
@83gemm I understand completely. My gf was a preschool teacher. She has a heart condition. She did not go back when they reopened, because the risk was too great.
Funny you mention healthcare workers. Guess what career I started in 2019! Let's just say I never experienced quarantine and time off work during the pandemic, lol.
Once upon a time when Simon used to stand up when he blazed, he printed Danny's scripts on paper from the basement with pictures on them.
I like to think it was Simon's parents who took the bike to teach him a lesson. And then just gave it back to him.
Wonder if he got a better bike lock the second time lol

GeoGuessr is my jam!
And you're totally right: the pros can name a specific Japanese prefecture, or whatever, within seconds. It's really fun to play and watch. You learn so much about the world and its people, like taking a dozen tiny holidays to far-flung corners of the globe in an hour.
I spend hours "walking" around beautiful Spanish cities or Norwegian fjords or the hilly streets of San Francisco or the city my friend grew up in in Bosnia. New York City is my favorite.
Yeah but you’re not actually “visiting” those places are you. So what’s the point? Poor person vacation?
@@PeachM0de some people go on holiday just to look at shit anyways so its deffo a money saver💀 also curiosity abt the world maybe?
I like the view from the top of Mt Everest 😎 never thought I'd see that 😁
I'm not saying that Simon should start another video channel, especially seeing as he already seems to have an infinite number of them, but if he should ever find himself with the time and desire to do so I could easily watch him all day long as he asks Siri questions and then proceeds to yell at her when she responds with endless random information while somehow excluding the actual information that Simon had originally requested. You could call it "To Siri, with Love". I'd subscribe to that shit on day one, my dude. Just out of curiosity, how many people understand the reference? I afraid that this one may have gone right over Simon's big brain.
Google Street View made into a game has to be the end game. Playing a FPS or just a water balloon fight or even an MMORPG set in an actual town would be fun.
It has been made into a game. It's called GeoGuessr. It was like the first thing we mentioned!
@@ThatWriterKevin True, but not into an FPS or similar and I don't think that's how Simon meant it either ;). Perhaps a "gaming environment" is a better way of putting it?
Damn, busting out the Myst reference!
Remember folks, always keep a glass breaker and seatbelt cutter in your car. Electric windows won't work when your car is submerged.
Holy shit that’s such an obvious thing to note that I’ve genuinely never taken into account before. I just figured I’d roll down the windows and climb/swim out but yeah. They wouldn’t go with the motor drowned.

“I like some art”
I think Art History is a legit major. At my University the go to degree for people who did not know WTF they wanted to study was Communications.
Omg 😁 I literally just used a communications degree as an example of a useless degree last night lol
Yeah, communications is the big "joke major" in America. Art history is one of those degrees that basically only qualifies you to be a teacher, but it's not useless
Art history is also a degree for people who don’t know what they want to do or actually can’t do anything else because they barely scraped into the university academically. Or someone with a sports scholarship who isn’t that bright.
@Kevin Jennings Art History is what you take to go into object conservation, art appraisal, or curatorial/museum studies.
I grew up in Indiana surrounded by corn. The Warning was.. "Don't wander into the 8 foot corn field!" The neighbor's 5 year old did and they had to get a helicopter to find her.
That dock photo was all over the local news, as it took place here in Almere, NL. It really was just a wet Labrador.
My sister always has a lab. They live near a river, so the dog goes for a swim whenever it can.
The whole Florida man thing is only because of the transparency laws they have. All police reports are part of the public record, so we find out about some crazy stories that we wouldn’t have if they happened elsewhere.
Why yes, I too watched the recent Legal Eagle video. It's a combination of transparency laws and privacy laws though. You get to know about every crime because it's public record, but in most cases the media isn't allowed to report their names which is why it's Florida Man/Woman
@@ThatWriterKevin ahhhh came to this comment to mention the Legal Eagle video 😅
You can now use Google Street View to go up the side of El Capitan with Alex Honnold, Lynn Hill, (and another climber whose name I can't remember). It's kinda cool.

"Maybe I'll tell someone about the maze, not." - recorded and posted on a successful yt channel for thousands to see. Nailed it fact boy
It's actually pretty common for people who go missing to be found in bodies of water. There's more than one CZcams channel devoted to people searching local water sources for missing persons.
Adventures with Purpose it probably the most popular one. It's actually quite interesting to watch all the interest and drama of Ghost Adventures, but they actually accomplish stuff.
I don't know if it was intended, but for those who don't know: "local watering holes" doesn't refer to bodies of water but to pubs and bars.
@@BernhardBayer 😆 Thanks for that note, I was looking for a way to say "body of water" without saying "bodies of water" again. Maybe I should rephrase. 😆
I LOVE playing GeoGuesser. It’s so fun and I recommended a lot of people try it during lockdowns because it helps keep you busy and makes your brain kind of think you are outside exploring… I am stuck in bed some days, and at home most days. And it really helps the cabin fever!
God knows I probably would have if I didn't have to keep going to work for all of lockdown
@@ThatWriterKevin If it weren't for your work, I would have been playing GeoGuesser.
then try the other one street guess where you have to get back to the air port
This sounds interesting and you just convinced me. I have to stay at home or close because I care for a elderly family member. This would be another cool thing to learn about and keep myself from going bonkers.
@@philipibaugh2925 thank you for caring. Both literally caring for them and also caring enough about them to do so. Feeling like a burden is never pleasant!
We also did travel days during lockdown. I got some cultural and language information about where I would like to travel, we found local monuments on Google earth, we got snack boxes from around the world, and we watched popular TV shows in those countries and really explored how people live, what they eat, how their languages sound, what is popular, some interesting laws, local religions etc.
A lot of this was done to help keep my kids interested in education as well as providing them with opportunities to explore the world from our house, and to empathise with humans around the world, and also try yummy new food and drinks and snacks, and to just have a structured day when we all got to forget we were stuck at home.
I also got some 3D puzzles of monuments around the world to go with this plan, but they really aren’t necessary.
It might be just as much fun to have a “beach” day or a “jungle” day, and get your elderly relative some play sand, some beach themed music, some films or TV shows with beach themes (maybe Holiday in the sun for something in the background, or Mako Mermaids if they need more casual/easier to understand stuff)… you could have some pretty mocktails with a little umbrella, or a picnic basket of sandwiches with some cold pie, cakes and little cartons of fruit juice? You could make them a nice warm foot soak, and yourself one too (old washing up bowl will work if you don’t have a foot spa, or a baby bath or a sturdy plastic box… you could even try some lava bread (seaweed) or if you fancy something else maybe sushi, nori crisps, or just the fish and chips from your local chippy! Doesn’t need to be expensive to be fun :)
A jungle theme might be harder, but you could grab a few leaves from outside (washed) and set the scene with music, tropical fruits (smoothies are great for someone with swallowing issues or who struggles to chew, dried fruits can help speed up digestion and even just licking and tasting things like watermelon is often possible for someone who requires a feeding tube, but obviously check with their health carer!) I used to work with disabled children and a lot of the best days were using cheap/free things to give them sensory experiences that they missed out on or enjoyed.
You could pop on some kind of sport and have a cricket/footie/rugger day? Sports on the TV or radio, themed snacks (ball shaped crisps, or cucumber sandwiches without the crusts and a cup of nice tea for cricket, or maybe some oval shaped sweets/bread for rugby??) maybe a fake pub theme later on, with some pints of (if required alcohol free!) shandy or beer, some bar sounds from a speaker somewhere, maybe east Enders or Corrie on the telly. Maybe a virtual game of Pool and an incense stick to recall the days when smoking inside was normal lol, whatever you think your person would enjoy, and whatever would make you feel good!
Also there is a fireplace on Netflix, and various similar things on CZcams that can really help for setting the scene, or just offering a nice warming view (psychologically the placebo effect can work just with warm colours or imagining a fire!) you could make things like s’mores or toast some basics (bread/crumpets/muffins/sweet waffles etc.) and have some sausages and beans or a jacket potato…. You get the idea! You can get Smokey flavouring if you want to, or just cook them normally, and sing some campfire songs (again, look them up online or via CZcams!) or get some fluffy blankets out and pretend to be in a cabin in the mountains somewhere! Play chess or read books together(or to them), or make hot chocolate with the little marshmallows etc.
Have fun and don’t be afraid to play. Adults are allowed to have fun. Honestly a blanket fort around the sofa when I am too sick to move is a great way to hang out and have fun with my kids.
If your relative is able to enjoy it, they might like a “spa day” where you can give them gentle massages (hands, face, scalp, feet etc. whatever you and they feel okay with). Pop on some lofi or classical music, grab some cucumber and whatever moisturiser you have laying around (most supermarkets sell moisturiser for very cheap, and you can pick a masculine or feminine scent if you think they would benefit from that or unscented for delicate skin, and then you can use room freshener/oils/food/perfume to add some pleasant sensory experiences to the activity if you want!) you can use moisturiser like a mask too, just pop on a thicker layer on the face or wherever, and if you want to you can pop cotton/poly socks under a tap, with a tiny drop more moisturiser and then pop the socks on the area (works for hands or feet!) you can add the rest of the cucumber to a jug of cold tap water, with or without a bit of lemon, and then have some kind of healing lunch like a nice salad, or some soups and bread? Try a massage story if you think they would enjoy it (you can either make up, read or audiobook a story and use your hands to make shapes and events happening in the story like gentle taps for rain, or gentle squeezes if a character hugs someone, or more abstract ideas!). You can also both use a bucket/box/etc as a foot spa, and you could offer to file their nails or even paint them (or use a nice oil to just make them shiny and smooth?) read a trashy magazine together, pop your dressing gowns on… whatever will work for the situation and will be a fun experience for you both! If you have access to makeup or skin care like a gentle toner/serum/essence, then you could pop those on as applicable for your person.
Sometimes it’s nice to get dressed up together too. Even if you aren’t going out anywhere. Even if it’s just popping a hat on, or doing makeup or hair gel or shaving or putting outside shoes on for a sit in the garden or something. It’s surprising how much difference someone can see in another person with very simple things!
For you alone, you may also find it helpful to get online counselling? Of course many carers are healthy and comfortable. But it can be a hard job, especially if there are mental health considerations, or your person is unlikely to get healthier. Your health and well-being are so important too. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you deserve to be happy and healthy (as much as possible). Age U.K. are a great place for support sometimes, and there are numerous carers charities and support organisations, don’t be shy to get assistance or feel like somehow you don’t qualify or something.

There was a weird couple that kidnapped kids and held them for years at their property in Antioch, CA. At the time they were arrested and it made national news, you could go to Google Street view at their property and as you progress the view down the street away from their house, the weird kidnapper dude in his van pulls out of the driveway and proceeds to tail the Google vehicle for a few blocks. I remember being able to see his face really well in the street view images. Very creepy
The Richardson's corn maze in Illinois (USA) is 28 acres, they claim to be the world largest.
It's usually 4 mazes that can be done together, but the 4 mazes make a single image.

on the bike thing, used to ride my bike everywhere. PerfectIy maintained, but purposely made it look crappy and by the way also parked next to 'newer' looking bikes. Never got stolen. I did once lose my front wheel because it had a quick release and I missed looping into my crappy cable lock. After replacing with a bolted on front wheel, it stayed. Lol, I didn't realize my city's corn maze was anything special! I remember going there years ago with a friend's young adult church group for a rather chaotic outing. Some people got bored halfway through and started chucking corn at each other, a married couple brought their two very excited kids, and we got out way later than planned by moonlight because somehow our entire group was a little directionally challenged. I don't think we actually solved the maze in the end. In hindsight I kind of want to try that again.
take a look at german streets. Most of the Houses are blurred. When Google announced to take the pictures there was an outcry because of privacy concerns.

@Brain Blaze, I just wanted to share a legendary story of my bike being stolen and getting it back. I had gotten a really nice bike and a lock. I was at my local gas station/convenience store which was a place I should have definitely locked it up. I didn't and it got stolen. I had told a few of my mates about it. A couple days later my mate calls me and says I just sent you a photo, call me back and let me know if it's your bike. I called back and said yes, so he said alright then I'm gonna get back for you. He called me a few minutes later and said I got it, but I'm at work so you will have to come pick it up.
THAT'S where you choose to do the mid-roll ad? Lmao, classic Blaze Boi 🤣 🤣🤣
I'll agree with the last story its not necessarily creepy. I've just had random desires to look up addresses like my childhood home, old apartments, etc I've moved around alot and so its neat to see how much has changed about an area since I've been there last.
I found an image of myself walking to school in Google street view. My face was blurred (phew) but you could still tell it was me 😂

I went to the Edmonton Corn Maze last summer! It was reasonably fun.
Well now I know how to avoid a DUI. Just gotta have no blood to test. Because screw trying not to drink for 48 hours. Thank you Kevin!
You're welcome!
Simon's bitterness with Siri is the most relatable thing ever.
I love Brain Blaze lol. So real and authentic; I love Simon's reactions to Kevin's teleprompts
Does this mean we’ll have to deal with the minotaur if it finds the way out of the labyrinth using google earth?
In Canada it has the body of a man and the head of a moose.
As an Edmontonian I'm so impressed Simon knew we are in Canada! And that our corn maze is actually known about.
Next time Google Street do Prague I expect to see you out in the Zebra mask. OGBB.
Some trivia: Financial writer Michael Lewis studied art history.
“Honey, you’ve got a big storm comin” 😂😂😂😂
Great video, thanks for the effort.
Geowizard (who was shown at the beginning) is insane at Geoguesser, his other content is very unique too if anyone is interested in checking him out
I love Geoguessr. Been playing about 3 years now, and still see new places and learn new metas every time I play!
Simon is blazing with these upload times
I have bad ADHD, so when Simon goes on a tangent, I completely forget what the video is about again.
@5:00 , Did you ever think that maybe your parents knew, that you skimped on the lock and put a shit lock on the BRAND NEW bike they just bought you.
They nicked it, made you feel bad,
laughed their asses off for a night or two by a bottle of chattaeu du pape,
then brought your SAME bike to you, being the lovely parents getting you a new one. LOL
As a Canadian: you don't need to apologize to Edmonton.
Bing street view caught a murder that happened on the street we lived at. The body has a sheet over it on the image. It was on Hazel Street in Curtis Bay, Maryland. We had moved ,already, the year before.
My hometown in Illinois has a 10 acre corn maze that also changes each year and has a haunted maze component in the evenings near Halloween.
This is going to be a good one.
I hope so! I sure enjoyed both writing and listening to it
@@ThatWriterKevin You didn't disappoint.
I believe I can speak for all of us when I say that your writing is consumed like fine wine.
@@oracleofdelphi4533 Thanks!
I wanted to put a huge red X on my house so people could find me easier😊
The way Simon says malls makes me want Poland to activate article 5.
It made me realize that I pronounce it somewhere between mail and mole
Its been a while since I watched this channel, its nice to come back and see that nothing's changed
Except that Simon is cosplaying as Bojack Horseman
I took a music history class in high-school. It was the actual history of music, we listened to and learned about a lot of classical pieces, and a lot of the technical things around the creations of said pieces. I don't do shit with it but have a better appreciation for it now. Lol and it was a good way to pad my credits and waste a semester 😅
Yeah but would you want to study it for fours years in unbelievable painstaking depths. That sounds like hell after the first few months.
@@piperjaycie didn't say I did. Was just relating a similar experience I had to what Simon was taking about?
I didn’t say you did either. I gathered it wasn’t 4 years of university with it being almost every class the entire time based on the fact you said “high school”. Obviously that is going to be pretty basic and not be much time wise as you still have to study all the other classes. My point was that while at high school level than was probably interesting, at university level even those interested would probably be horrifically bored quite quickly.😊
I love how you ask needlessly complicated questions to Siri and then get upset when it doesn’t work. Every time. You’re just a glutton for punishment at this point
Years ago when showing streetview to my already super paranoid 65 y.o. auntie we went to her house and the front door was open on the picture. This sending her into a frenzy because she thinks all the criminals in the world will now come to rob her😅.
