Is your battery getting drained over night? check this out. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I got scammed by my repair guy, he replaced the break switch and the new one he put in still was doing the same thing. I found your video and did the fix and it worked perfectly, From now on I'm doing my own work
im sorry you were taken advantage of. it happens ALL THE TIME. thats why i do videos like this occasionally!!! don’t be afraid of doing your own research and doing your own work. take your time, search youtube for how to videos and save yourself some money. you will feel pretty good when you start learning to do your own work.
This is probably the best video on the issue (2012 Sonata here). Thank you.
You are a "god send" sir.
On vacation, girlfriend found your channel, after I noticed our lights still on, after coming out from the grocery store. Thankfully we went shopping, probably wouldn't have noticed, otherwise. She decided to look it up, thankfully. 😅
Got it jerryrigged, for the night, too try to make it to the store, in the morning. ALL before the eclipse, tomorrow, would've sucked, to have been stranded, on vacation. You're a life saver, I hope that you are doing well, since having made this video. Thank you! 😊
thanks for the kind words. hope your trip goes well. problems always strike at the most inconvenient times!
I actually used a bottle cap for a temporary fix after learning from your video! That’ll keep my battery from dying again until I can make it to the hardware store. THANK YOU!!!🙏🏾✨
Thank you so much for making this video. Saved me hours or headaches
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this out. You just saved me 150$ in labor for a 2$ fix
Great video, you saved me at least one night of hurt knees. Much thanks.
YES! I watched your video and sure enough that was my problem. As my boyfriend took it out it broke completely. He put your temporary fix in right as I found the extended warranty recall notice in my glove box for this exact issue. 2012-2014 should be able to get this replaced this for free. I can for sure with the papers I kept, but worth looking into for others.
Thank you for this posting, you just saved me a ton of time and money!!
I have exact same car and year. This video saved me time and money......thank you!
Omg this was a life saver I bought a new battery and every thing smh thank you so much
Thank you sooo much for this video. I was able to fix this problem myself without having to pay a mechanic. 👍
That was the goal….no reason to spend $100 bucks an hour for a simple fix. Good job.
Thank you for posting this, was able to fix mine this morning.
welcome and good for you.
The grommet is plastic on a 2002 Sonata. My grommet head broke off from the insert and I was able to put a screw in w/an aviator nut for the fix. Thanks for the info.
thanks for this video, exactly what I needed
In my travels over the road trucking I see many cars with brake lights staying on. Seems to be a common issue. I bet almost all of those switches are set up similar to that one. Nice easy fix.
yep. Sometimes you can fix a real annoying problem with very little effort.
Thank u so much brother.. in till u wach this video I was a little stressed. But! I git to fix my car ..thank u so much man.
Its easy.

Thanks for sharing! you just saved me some money!
Your idea save me 👍 thanks so much!🙏
Great deal !!!
cool video../ had the issue with the brake light staying on and draining battery… before trying this I applied my emergency brake and the lights went and stayed off
There are several problems with this for a permanent fix. One is the metal will quickly wear on the brake light switch pin. Then you'll have to replace the whole switch. Second, is with no give in the limiter pad, the switch will not activate till the pedal is depressed some distance. The brake lights should light up at the least touch of the brake. That is why they made the limiter of flexible material in the first place. Still, this workaround is a good stop gap until you can replace the limiter pad. They are so cheap you have to buy a dozen; but it's only about 5 bucks.
Thanks man. What length bolt?
Thanks I repair my car. With your video
Glad it helped
Thank you this info just saved my butt
Thats great
Which type of bolt did you use
Nice. Thanks for this video. Our 2013 with 165k on it just started doing this tonight! Wonder if that rubber stopper is available anywhere?
Pretty much any hardware store has similar stuff, lowes and home depot as well. Just pay attention to the thickness.
Worked like a charm! You’re a true genius. Must be a Capricorn too! Lol
Thats great man. I love trying to help some people out when i can !!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you sir, you probably saved me $100
Glad I could help
Thank you! Thank you!
WOW! Thank you!!!
Thank you very much!!
Welcome sir
Thanks you so much good buddy that Hyundai is the same exact of my Hyundai Sonata
welcome. hope you saved some money.
My brake lights stay on, but it's because the brake does not come up to it's original position. I have to lift up on the brake with my toe to bring it home. Then the brake light goes off. Thoughts?
if you have resistance bringing the pedal all the way up you may have a problem developing in the master cylinder/booster assembly. could also be in desperate need of a brake job. a combination of hydraulic back pressure and engine vacuum in the booster is what is primarily responsible for pushing the pedal back up. a super easy fix is putting a low tension spring somewhere on the pedal under the dash to keep slight rear/up pressure on the pedal.
Thank you very much.
welcome !!!
Thank You!!
Welcome
On mine a literal piece of sticky Velcro fell down like a mm which was causing it. Had to replace battery 😢
Perfect!
thanks, i just fixed it
We used a piece of receipt paper for the night lol
Describes my daughter's issue with her 13 Sonata. About how long is the bolt?
Thatz what we are looking for too. I think this would be crucial info to provide those who aren't too savvy with this.
@@kaydeenothing9772 it worked for us.
Did anyone figure out how long the bolt is
I have this issue today but before I notice it my car suddenly stop driving. What is the correlation. Am yet to fix it
Did you ever get this figured out?
Did you end up fixing it???
@@aidenlynch1097did you figure anything out about that same problem???
Also, if you don't have a properly-sized bolt-head screw and nut on hand, you can just super glue two pennies together, then super glue them to the top of the metal piece that the rubber pad used to go through. They're about the same height/width as the original pad.
Went to my local hardware store and they didn’t have either of those in bolts so went to Walmart and got superglue and superglued the rubber piece to till I get the bolt 😅
good deal !!!!! better than having a dead battery, a wrecker truck bill and giving money to the mechanic. good job.
Why don't they use a bolt or something metal from the factory? Dumb.
million dollar question….wonder how much money dealerships and crooked mechanics have profited over this simple fix???
Thanks for saving me $ 🙏🏻🫡
your welcome! thanks for watching
