I love imagining a therapist talking to Ryan about his obsessive rivalry with a puppet. Also love Ryan and Kate just
Ryan: Being Nice
Kate: WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING
They should see if they can turn that into a series
So many Puppet History Hall of Fame moments in just one episode: Ryan and Kate's inability to do basic math, Ryan being unable to handle getting an extra jelly bean, Kate being endeared by the baby wheat and then horrified when it was eaten, the cliffhanger of the Professor's genie lore????? This episode had it ALL.
And then ryan clapping when the emu starts singing
Instantly became my favourite episode of the entire series. IN-CRE-DI-BLE.
Whenever Kate is in an episode I get excited
The computer in the background says words on it while he talks about genie lore
@Maverick Lanzerotti omg on the left piece of paper is a list of the next episodes: emus, mansa, pox, jose, olga, and loudun.. there's a paper that says to: tinker with algorithm, restock magic jellies (getting low!), cater spiders and another paper that says research protection spells using magic jellies!!! LORE ABOUND
Fun Fact about our coat of arms: Emus and Kangaroos can’t walk backwards, so it’s to say Australia will always progress and never go backwards (press x to doubt)
Also! The Emu saying “you want me to sing a fuckin song do ya” is the most Australian thing thank you we do talk like that
I'm not Australian but I lived in Canberra (capitol of Australia for those who don't know) for about 7 years when I was younger. Anyone who doubts you has never met an Australian clearly 🤣 the way they talk can come off as aggressive but I can surely say, that isn't the case at all. Beautiful people and beautiful culture truly

So... the government offered a bounty for Emus but wouldn't pay the vets for their wheat.

Right!! I would love that see a show with her as a main person.

She makes Ryan seem calm
“The War to End All Wars, or as we know it today, World War 1” will always be crushingly funny to me

@@nozomimizi8083 awesome
yeah that hit me like a laughing toddler

13:11 is my favorite moment because of the professor flipping the absolute shit out at his students for previously doing stupid math about birds having 20,000 hands. "what the FUCK is so HARD FOR YOU to UNDERSTAND. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A FOUR LEGGED BIRD" is so full of pent up anger from the entire kate-explaining-her-logic bit before he snapped
I've replayed it so much 😂
Every single time I lost it 😂😂😂😂
The irony of the tallest cast member telling his guests “you’re so much bigger than me!” is wonderful.
Kate's random "if he's attractive enough I'll go count emu carcasses" in a Mae West style accent was hilarious. Especially because the 1930s was peak Mae West.
I 100% thought the Professor's ending message was going to be a letter from Shane clarifying that he did not eat his bird
Is anyone else unsettled by “beyond beef boy”? He kinda scares me, he looks like he’s on the verge of snapping and going on a rampage. (Professor, watch your back)
Ricky Goldsworth larval stage
I see Ricky Goldsworth when he was given the gun...
What if Ryan is the genie in disguise & he's finally found the professor?!?
@@danielledillon4734 omg, now that would be a twist! Or what if Ricky Goldsworth is working with the genie?! 😱
We might have the reverse to fear 4:56
Ryan being delighted and clapping at the emu eating the cute wheat while Kate is horrified is why he and Shane are friends
"One day I hope to be a bread" was the cutest thing I have seen and heard in such a long time
We have ads in Aus of a similar vein, in which a lil bit of wheat tells his parents he wants to be crisps one day (apologies I’m a scottish expat and still cannot say “chips”) and the parents are like “you will be Bread just like us, young man”. Then the end a grain waves bag came up and it was like “our crisps are made of wheat”
On the topic of the song, can we talk about how Shane did a good Australian accent and he sang in a accent??
@@unknownpasta8103 yeahhh it sounded like a different person it was insane lol

@@snavisTM cool interpretation!
Don't forget puppets
You are the first person I have ever heard/seen use the word “theatricality.” Thanks for the new word!
There's perhaps no greater evidence of Ryan and Shane's friendship and shared sense of humor than Ryan's barely hidden glee at seeing that cute little wheat puppet, knowing fully well something horrible was going to happen to it. Just look at his face at 30:00, he knows what's coming.
30:16: more events: Ryan approving the bit.
This episode is two months old but this has to be the funniest episode of puppet history! Ive been repeating the professor's, "NO! What the FUCK do you not understand about how many feet birds have!!??" in my head all day. He gets so angry! Lmfao

So the ryan is DEFINITELY helping the genie catch this puppet.
Edit: I am horrified.
i adore this and need it to be a cannon piece of lore
Referring to the professor as this puppet cracked me up
If only it was just catching him
The funniest part is when Ryan’s body couldn’t accept the fact he actually got a bonus point 😂
The line “six feet down under” is award winning. Someone get this man a trophy full of jellybeans for that line alone.
I know Ryan’s whole thing is a fake, but I genuinely believe he loved that song at the end.
when that emu murdered that innocent baby wheat in cold blood? ryan was having the time of his life
Ryan: "It's really nice to see you Kate!"
Kate: "WHAT THE FUCK."
Kate's mistrust of Ryan is how everyone feels after the pandemic.
And it was justified too
The genie has almost certainly affected Ryan somehow
What if the genie is pretending to be Ryan? Would explain the attitude change...
Ryan and the genie are in cahoots. Ryan's playing nice to lull the Professor into a false sense of security, and when his barriers are down...THE GENIE WILL STRIKE!

Actual quote from an Australian newspaper about the war:
"The machine-gunners' dreams of point blank fire into serried masses of Emus were soon dissipated. The Emu command had evidently ordered guerrilla tactics, and its unwieldy army soon split up into innumerable small units that made use of the military equipment uneconomic."
Shane has truly outdone himself with this song-- his writing and delivery are exceptional

I super enjoy theorising about lore, so just looking over the three latest episodes (Emu, Mansa, and Pox), here's what I've found. Here's a transcription of the notes on the Professor's pinboard from this episode:
"THIS SEMESTER:
- EMUS
- MANSA
- POX!
- JOSE (not sure what this one could be about)
- OLGA (maybe Olga of Kiev)
- LOUNDIN (maybe Fredrick Loudin?)
.
- NO LORE!
.
- RENO! (maybe a photo of the Professor with Joyce)
.
- BEEF BOY!
.
TO DO:
- TINKER WITH ALOGORITHM
- RESTOCK MAGIC JELLIES? (not sure what words in brackets say)
- CATCH SPIDERS
.
- RESEARCH PRECEPTION SPELLS (???) MAGIC JELLIES"
.
Also we've had mutiple instances during video calls to historical guests where the screen will glitch and the image of three faces will flash on screen. Not sure who they could be at this point. Also during one of these flashes, we saw a puppet screaming in hell. We know this is hell because it was the same backdrop that we see the Devil in front of in the Pox episode. I also think this puppet was the horse, which I'm pretty sure was our first canonical character death, but I could be misremembering. Also, when we first saw the Devil, he was ushering someone out of view. They were glowing purple, so at the moment I'm guessing it was likely the Genie, but I can't be certain.
.
Hope this was helpful!
I think the 3 faces were the demon from the season finale
"That'd be the old picture wrap on the Berguse."
Perfect line. Perfect delivery. 👏👏

Yeah, I was literally yelling at the screen, "who's been talking smack about the lore?? I'll fight them!!"
Ryan clapping when the Emu showed up and ate the wheat was so iconic the pure twisted joy is palpable
probably one of my top ten puppet history songs right here. up there with clip clop into the light and basically anything sung by the giant pile of diamonds.
"What the FUCK is so HARD for you to understand about how many feet birds have!? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A FOUR-LEGGED BIRD, OR A ONE-LEGGED BIRD!?" (ca 13:11) unironically was my favourite quote in this episode just because of how hard it made me laugh. It would be something I would say as well in a moment of frustration so I feel the Professor on that one.
That was unquestionably my favorite part too. Absolutely hilarious! I completely understand the Professor's reaction.
I keep watching this episode on repeat purely for this moment. 😂
Mind if I copy paste your transcript to the tvtropes funny page for the show?
@@Shantari Oh not at all, feel free!
Every episode with Kate P has at least one iconic moment where the Professor has a breakdown. It is the funniest shit.
I feel like Ryan's putting on a rouse, gaining trust before fully indulging his villan arc
Oh my God.…I cried with laughter at the whole bit about 40,000 feet. I’ve replayed it so many times and laughed like a loon each time.
Also, commendable Aussie accent Shane!
these three have an insane chemistry together. i could watch them do anything and find it entertaining
Something tells me the professor and Shane have a very close relationship. Are they dating?
Pretty sure Shane's just the intern
You guys here??? Love to see it
That idea is very plausible
I‘d ship that. xD
Who else wants a Puppet History Watts The Safeword crossover? just saying, two of my favourite places to learn~~
“I think she’s trying to activate the Winter Soldier” made me laugh so much harder than it should have
Nope. I think you were right on! I’m a middle aged woman and I laughed like a man when he said that!
Same same
Lol same
lost it when kate said "seventeen..."
I haven't seen it, what's the joke?
Shane’s puppet skills have really improved since the first episode. He was good before but hes extra good now
30:13 is the most accurately an Australian has been portrayed by an American
Therapist: Pleasant Ryan doesn’t exist. He can’t hurt you.
Pleasant Ryan:
Kate is literally a fan favorite now!! The season kicking off with Emu war.... I hv been waiting for this like an eternity am so happy rn!!!!
If only this has been going on for an eternity, we'd have so many more to watch
Samsies!
When I tell you the second I saw the video I was hoping that it was Kate and when she appeared I was so excited
@@italiahockey ikr! Like I can just sit and watch them every day, every week, every month.... Everytime
"STOP DOING MATH" my God i had to pause the video i was laughing so hard
Great start to the season! Just one miss - western Australia wasn't "wilderness". Like the US, Australia pushed people to colonize those areas to get the land and resources from the Indigenous peoples who were there. Shane's been awesome at calling this stuff out, so would love to see it mentioned. 🌻
Ryan actually enjoying a song is DELIGHTFUL
"HIIII! STOP DOING MATH!" is iconic. top ten professor quote for sure
it's so painful to go back and see all the foreshadowing to the professor's death. those sick fools knew
I adore Kate. She’s so full of fun
As an Australian, I shed a tear when they pronounced Emu correctly, and then continued to do so throughout the episode. Thank you Professor, on behalf of every Australian, thank you
As a brit I'd only ever heard English speakers say eemyoo, I had no idea eemoo was the pronunciation in the US
Canadian here. I once heard a guy down south say "emmm-mooo" with a serious face, and my soul physically cringed out of my meat-suit. What a day to have ears.
Lmao
Whoa I had no idea that was the proper pronounciation thank you
😂😂 a methhead once asked my papaw how he got his chickens so big..... he told them special feed. But it was emus 💀 kinda unrelated but kinda not
