I'm not sure. There's a lot of misinformation being spread by some of the people that think he's guilty. But there's also a lot of misinformation being spread by some of the people that think he's innocent. So it takes a lot of effort to sift through all that and pick a side.
On a lighter note though, that's a solid joke. Classic Jimmy Carr.

It's not nice or funny to joke about something so serious, but at least Michael is innocent.

It's all on the fly. That's the difference between a comedian and someone who stands on a stage telling jokes. Jimmy Carr is exceptionally quick-witted even by comedian standards, but most stand-ups at any level will interact with the crowd and get some comedy from it. You need that wit when dealing with hecklers, too. It's part of the unwritten contract of heckling that if the comedian gets laughs from his response then he wins and you stop heckling. If he just ignores the heckler then it can disrupt or even ruin the show.
I think comedians get skilled at scanning the room for people who look like they will say enough to give the comedian something to work with. For better or worse I get picked quite a lot (I'm a big chap with a friendly face) but I quite like it and see it as part of the fun.

Sadly Jackson was abused by his father so much his brain stalled at 10 years old. His father even wanted to get him fixed so he could keep singing high notes. The people I blame are the people who took his money and did not tell him what was going on was wrong.
