I am a 47 year old Italian man. I grew up with Diego, I saw him live twice. I also saw Van Basten, Gullit, Baggio, Ronaldo the phenomenon, Zidane and many others. No doubt: Diego came from another planet.
Diago Maradona was an absolute genius on the football field! His skills and talent were truly unmatched. The way he could effortlessly dribble past multiple defenders, his precise passes, and his incredible goal-scoring ability made him a legend of the game. Maradona's vision and creativity were out of this world. Watching him play was like witnessing magic unfold before your eyes. He brought so much joy and excitement to the sport, and his impact will forever be remembered. A true football icon and a genius who will always be missed. RIP, Maradona.
Totally agree with you, in spite off all of that he had a lot of grit, he would defend, chase opposition players and tackle as well. I an age where defenders were tough as nail he was just fearless.
Would Ronaldo or Messi have gone to a club that survived Serie A in Italy by one point, and when Maradona went there they won 5 cups. He’s the best ever without a shadow of doubt. Thank you Diego.
It wasnt just that. At that time, Naples was probably the most difficult team to play in. The political climate that you could breathe in Italy and the division and discrimination against the south was enormous. Thats why Maradona is like religion in Naples. Messi for example couldn't even bear a little pressure in the national team, compared to what Maradona shouldered all by himself at his age its just unbelievable.

Im not old enough to have seen him play,and until his death I only seen bits in pieces like the game vs England. But when he died I actually looked at his highlights and I was expecting to see amazing stuff and I was still absolutely blown away. I saw a charity match were he took part in when he was 45 with all the Argentina legends even withyoung aguero and Messi, and even there you can tell maradonas different realm. His vision, and the perfect weight on passes at 45 was stunning. I can only imagine how crazy it was to see him live in his prime. Greatest of all time no doubt.
He really loved football, that"s why he had the most awesome skills, is the power of passion.

Diego was quite unreal. Doing things of a genius with the ball in any situation. I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina and support Boca Jrs., and I could see the best years of Maradona live, at my age of 13th years old was Mexico -86. Amazing times, was a dream to watch that world cup. I can say I´m super lucky to see playing in my teams the best player of history of football, the real legend of legends. And happy that all the world enjoyed him so much.

Growing up our coaches would call out any selfish play on our part with a "I don't want to see any Maradona's out there". But when the game was on the line, that's when you prayed that a Maradona would be in your squad to win the match. Really felt that coaches then and now are stifling the individual creativity of players with their "systems". Maradona is what is fabulous about football, he was pure joy to watch and will never be matched.

Pele was the first one and I wonder how he had become that much good without seeing any model around him.I saw only 30% of Pele's footage and it was enough for me to say he was far better than Messi. Pele and Maradona had no limits but Pele seemed as the most completed skill, and Maradona the most artistic skill to me. And of course Brasilian Ronaldo was incredible and unstoppable before his injury he was very unlucky but I can still say he was better than Messi because he was very explosive,strong and he did it against very though defenders.
