Coming from a Union plumber of 22yrs. I would double check the one piece that didn’t go on very far. Secondly, and this is just my professional opinion, teflon tape is just and addition to sealing up pipe threads, it is not needed. If the threads are machined properly, then the use of pipe dope (lubricant) is all you should need to make a proper connection.
👍🏻
I picked up a vise that plugs into the trailer hitch on the truck from Tractor Supply, worth the 100 dollar bill.
Now that it’s up and running, what adjustments did you have to do, with idle, unloadervalve etc, to get it running. Looking to build on myself just like yours.
Are there any benefits to using the unloaded block vs just threading it right to the pump like other washers?
Not really other than taking the stress and weight off it it
Why not put the unloaded right on the pump? Thanks for all your videos.
What size is the water inlet fitting
What are those blocks used for before the unloader ? Or what’s their function
unloader blocks
So you have to buy the unloaders separately?
i got all the stuff but the pump so far. i got the same stuff you do. my ss fitting dont seem to want to go this unloader . i fell like id mess it up if i wrench on it. and also id love to see you set the unloader. im a bit of rookie but i like building stuff like this . thanks for your help
The SS fitting doesn’t go on the smoothest but it will work.
We're you referring to the ss fitting for the bypass? If so mine feels like it the wrong thread....
I swear you had a video showing how you adjusted this K1 unloader but I can't seem to find it. Did you cover this in a video? I will keep looking too. Thanks!
I feel like I had that in a video
I built this same set up and was running great but I used the 459 predator instead. Did you ever have a problem with the key in the shaft? Mine actually bent and cracked
They are great setups, I wished the 459 was available when I built mine. I never had any issues with anything.
Great video thanks! I do wonder why you and some others decided to mount the unloader away from the pump. Can't u just connect the K1 unloader directly to the pump outlet?
You can mount it straight to the pump and most do it that way. I chose to go this route to help reduced the stress and weight put on the pump at that point. Sometimes unloaders can break off in that location and that would be a headache.
@@KentuckyWashPros Got ya, thanks!
Do you pull directly from the customer's water or does your direct-drive pump draft from a buffer tank?
With this setup this is not a direct drive, this is a gear drive and it will pull from a buffer tank.
Most of your factory direct-drive PW's from the big box stores do not create enough suction to pull from a buffer tank, so you will have to hook up to the water source directly.
They do however make an aftermarket direct drive pump that will pull from a buffer tank because the internals are different and the pistons are bigger allowing it to create suction.
Great videos. In the process of obtaining parts. Do you have the Unloader block listed on your parts build?
I do not, a few months after running it with an unloader block I ended up, just putting the unloader directly onto the pump via quick connect set up
I just built the setup! Waiting on a few more parts but how do you set your unloader ?
Nice! To set the unloader you’ll need to get a zero degree or red tip, and pressure gauge to set the unloader. I’ll attach a link czcams.com/video/CxRCQ24wOOs/video.html
Hey also where did you get that stainless steel unloader block ? I only see brass ones. Thank you 🙏
Mine is brass. I got it from www.pressurewasherproducts.com
@@KentuckyWashPros thank you
What drains it did you hook up to the predator for easy oil change ? Thank you
12mm drainzit from eBay
@@KentuckyWashPros thanks man going to order it tonight.
did you end up keeping the unloader mounted to the side like that? if so how did it work?
I did end up leaving it like this and it worked out great.
Hey! @Kentucky Wash Pros How are ya man!? Thanks for the videos! I notice on the spreadsheet that you have the Predator 459 listed instead of the 420 that is in the videos. Do you recommend the 459cc over the 420cc?
I do recommend the 459 over the 420. You’ll see better output with the pump on the 459 because of its increased HP.
@@KentuckyWashPros Thank you for the quick response! Also, thank you for the most logical setup I've came across in all of my studying so far. This is without the best setup for the money invested. Genius! I'll proceed in building this setup. God bless!
@@KentuckyWashPros Hey Jeremy, I was wondering what the red hose is for on the bottom of the motor near where you have your unloader setup? Thanks!
@@goodmoodfooddude3801 oil drain extension
are you going to downstream at all? how will that be setup?
Hey Patrick thanks for the comment. My downstream injector is setup close to my reel inlet and that is where I draw my chemical from.
Do u have to purchase whip cord separately from pump
Yes
Do some pumps have a unloader built in? What gpm is one required?
Some pumps have them built into them, others don’t. But all require them
Bought this pump and gear box setup both got pretty hot on the first use, is this normal?
Hey David thanks for watching. To be honest I’ve never really checked mine gear box or pump to see if it got heated up. I would imagine that it’s possible given that they are gears turning in there with may produce some heat. I have several jobs lined up for Thursday so I will check mine then.
The pump oil got dirty after about 15 hours of use, after how long did you change it .
@@davidahumada8928 Are you still running this setup?
@@premierpowerwashing6634 yes working great
What type of chemical injector did you use on this?
General pump 2.1
Hey could u please update if this build was worth it and how many hours have u used this pump and motor without any issues...?
Worked great and was worth it
by adjustable wrench are you referring to a crescent wrench
Yes
Yes
Why use an unloader block ? can you not just attatch directly too the pump
You can attach it to the pump, if recommended setting it up as a quick connect setup
Question why didn't you use a 1/2 female unloader block?
That's an excellent for which I don't have an answer for.
@Kentucky Wash Pros Thanks for the reply. I'm jumping in and making this build wish me luck!
Where is part 3 or the rest of the set up
Part 3 is there only a couple video last 2, hopefully you found it.
How many psi you get out of this set up boss
I have it set to 2,500 and I’m getting a true 6.8gpm
@@KentuckyWashPros How has your surface cleaner been performing?
What’s the max psi can get out of this, sir?
What size barb is that going in for water
1 in
@@KentuckyWashPros 1” mip to 1” barb?
@@KentuckyWashPros I know the barb is 1” but is it 1” into the pump. The threaded end…
@@mattburns4407 I believe so, tbh I can’t really remember
@@KentuckyWashPros I figured it out 1/2”threads 1”barb
👍💵
Where did you get those adapters?
If you're referring to the 1/2 fpt to the 3/8 mpt I got them from Titan Fittings.

@@KentuckyWashPros thank you!
Why use an unloader block?
You dont have to. I dont use one anymore on my update setup
