@@Chicag0Zay Yeah, Ant-Man should have gotten stuck in the quantum world at the end. I was anticipating it, then nothing. And how can the big bad of the new phases have been easily defeated? He was supposed to be badder than Thanos, and an army of ants kicks his butt and Ant-Man finishes the job. I don't know what Marvel was thinking.

My main problem with the post-Endgame phases is they are introducing way too many characters and not tying them together ever. Why should we care about the Eternals when they were never mentioned again? The stinger setups are easily forgotten since they don't do anything with them for years after. You nailed it with saying we need to care about these characters more than just Easter eggs/cameos.
I literally forgot that Eternals was a thing that happened until I saw this post
Too many projects are always confusing and especially with all the marvel shows that were specifically made for a certain type of audience rather then trying to bring people into it.
Like Wanda and Vision was very hard to get young people interested in while Loki really was the front for what most people wanted to see more of. Moon knight was also a very different genre more psychological which obviously doesnt fit everyone.
So MCU series became sort of an experiment and it really wasnt succesfull in most parts when it came to phase 4 and the start of phase 5.
The idea that there are different types of projects which appeal to different audiences is something that is sorely needed to keep the material fresh, but the recent content is also trying to not go “too” far and still catch the general public. Trying to have it both ways means it’s a failure on both counts. I really liked Moon Knight, but now what happens? Give them a season 2. She-Hulk, loved it! Now what’s next? Dig further into those genres and ignore the misogynists and pearl clutchers

A big issue is alot of fans have ENDURED phase 4 for some sort of pay off and kang is supposed to be that pay off and after loki season 2 finale kangs character is more intriguing than ever. I think pirates of the Carribean showed exactly why you shouldn't fire actors purely on allegations
Thinking that Kang was the problem for the lame interest in Quantumania while it actually was the script that was the problem shows exactly that they would be missing the point! Kang is an amazing character.
Yeah, I want them to keep Kang. Replace Majors if they have to, but for goodness sake, keep Kang! This is the multiversal saga where there can be millions of variants of the same character. Honestly shouldn't be hard to do.
And do better writing for this character. The character is great on Loki, but on Ant-Man Quantumania, the storyline for him was doodoo.

At this rate, Chris Evans and all of the other original MCU Avengers actors are going to be playing their characters up until old age. Stop looking at the series and movies as a whole and see the potential. These characters are going to connect in Secret Wars.
Getting rid of Kang and randomly inserting Doom would be an injustice to both characters. Kang would end up being a wasted villain and Doom would feel as you said, rushed.
I do think the original avengers coming back is in reference to the multiverse war. Also most of what I read about Doom replacing Kang is it WAS - past tense - the plan. Probably referring to the underperformance of Ant-Man 3. I highly doubt they’d go that route after watching Loki season 2. I really get the impression that they’re moving forward with Kang.
kang said if he "doesn't get out something very bad will come" at the end of Quantum Realm. This is actually perfect.
But interesting enough Kang and Doom are connected in the comics I think the MCU should build on that aspect of Doom and setup his story and maybe just keep the immediate Kang storyline on the side if they go the doom route.

There is literal proof the man is innocent and yet all the articles I see want him fired and replaced. The woman lied on him. And instead of issuing an apology or admitting people misjudged. They rather an innocent man still go to trial as if there is no video out there showing he shouldn’t even be charged.

It's the same thing with Tenoch Huerta. His accuser is being investigated for assault, intimidation, fraud, with a suspected FBI investigation. Multiple people have brought receipts showing she misrepresented events and facts - but this is never reported in the media. People literally have to investigate and share information and documents on social media.
This is ridiculous. Screencrush should either say nothing about it, or mention the counter-evidence in their video. Part of me wonders if Screencrush is intentionally feeding the fire by discussing it the way they did? Would be really cool if they took a more neutral stance by saying nothing at all, or by also mentioning the proof he did not do the allegation or providing links.

If you do recast Kang, DO NOT even consider MBJ. Side note: they wanted to drop Kang since Quantumania? I heard rumors that they rewrote the ending, and initially, he was going to win against Ant-Man. If that's the case, then they made their own coffin. We were in shock and angry when Thanos snapped his finger. They made him dark. They decided for Kang to lose to Ant-Man. Of course, the response and the views will be low.
Damn, they really should have let the Ant-Man team take the L on their last movie. Would have made Kang really scary and formidable and that was just one variant.

There was one other major re-cast- Mark Ruffalo replacing Edward Norton. And that was a full-on protaganist being replaced and Norton was also an actor with a lot of star potential. Nevertheless, he's not even considered part of the franchise anymore, even though the villain from that film, Tim Roth, HAS shown up again.
I've seen discussion that he could be brought as a multiverse hulk. Smh
That was really too bad. Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo are not even in the same league of actor. Edward Norton is absolutely fantastic and Mark Ruffalo is a mediocre bargain bin replacement.

Also, General Ross has been recast. Only Chadwick Boseman was an issue for Marvel.
They're missing the point. Kang is a great character but they keep doing crappy stuff. They need to let the court case work itself out to determine if Majors stays. But also more than anything, make a good story. I'm enjoying Loki but I'm confident they're going to crash the season because they force endings to fit their future plans over writing interesting stories.

Clearly the girl wasn't traumatized from the situation because she wasnt hysterical in any of the videos I've seen but I did hear that the officers who arrived had a problem with him being black and having such a nice place and it was implied they advised her to exaggerate what happened.
I want good stories again. That's really it. And I want Marvel to connect all of these amazing new characters. I have to wonder what they are all thinking is happening right now. Simu Liu is just waiting... it's terrifying. Compared to Phases 1-3, I worry that some of these actors will age out or give up before they even get all the movies they deserve.

Secret Wars has always been about Doom. They're only shoehorning Kang into it because they liked Majors' performance in Antman 3 and Kang doesn't have any good stories of his own.

From a to end management view waiting for majors, even if found innocent, is a serious gamble.
The lack of a crossover is actually on point when it comes to the MCU current state, and I mean like a Main Event. It's hard to believe they had 18 projects in Phase 4 and had nothing as such. It ended with Black Panther 2 and that movie was a standalone story.
It’s the main issue bc it’s lost is connective stickiness bc we’ve had all these isolated stories. They should have crafted a small story that would bring together some of the new characters in a mini team up on D+

That movie was a crossover between 3 spidermen and their villains, with Dr Strange being the only addition from Earth 616. And unless they plan to use Toby and Andrew for more projects, it was a one time thing, that mostly impacted Peter's life and not the wider MCU, yet. Dr. Strange's spell might have been the spark for the incursion that Clea warned him about in the post-credit scene of MoM but they have yet to explain it.

Johnathan Majors has been proven innocent and his acting is absolutely amazing. His face is in to many places to rehire anyone else as Kang. The Loki/Kang dynamic has been the best thing for the MCU Since Endgame. If they switch him or get rid of Kang they are purposely ruining themselves
Avenger's Endgame was terrible. That is not a very high bar.

And Avenger's Infinity War is almost as dumb. They are dumb movies made for dumb people.
Kang is a great villain and Jonathan Majors is playing him so well. In spite of Quantumania not being one of the best Marvel movies, King was great and the two seasons of Loki are great. I still think they can make these stories great.
Chukwudi Iwuji would have made a great Kang. He was brilliant in Guardians, really brought that maniacal villian to life.

I feel like some of the issues are just the gaps between character appearances. It felt like before you'd see a character and then they'd pop again in another movie in a couple years. Now we'll get a character introduced or a movie and then it's like 3-4 years later that they'll show up again and by then audiences already forgot about what happened with them previously and it just feels disjointed.

I do hope all of this is just speculation. The way they’ve slowly built up Kang is very interesting. Especially compared to the way thanos was introduced. When they introduce doctor doom I’d like to see the same build up over time. I think pivoting back to the old avengers or changing main villains will be a sign that marvel is just not learning the right lessons. The characters aren’t the problem. It’s the writing and storytelling.

It would be foolish for them to recast Kang or blip out Kang atp. Disney needs to learn their lesson from Johnny Depp. They ended their relationship with him and essentially killed the Jack Sparrow character (no one wants that to be recast or see a Pirates movie without him) only for them to have an egg in their face when the trial happened and the world saw that he wasn’t the abusive monster Amber Heard made him out to be. Especially considering the fact that all evidence so far points to Jonathan Majors being innocent. Disney already ruined Star Wars and Marvel idc what anyone says. They care about money not the story or fans.
There is a way to put Dr.Doom into the movies and even have some good Doom and Kang stories but don’t scrap Major as Kang

They should bring in Doom. Moving in the background. Setting things up. Sometimes helping the heroes, sometimes betraying them.. add some complexity to another "villain"
One of the reasons the MCU has been so bad recently is that they keep cancelling their plans for things and replacing them with worse plans. Multiple MCU films or shows have undergone extensive reshoots, changes in creative direction, or post-production overhauls that made the projects worse, less compelling stories than the one they had planned. It keeps happening. They keep pushing "we'll fix it in post" to its absolute limits. Then eventually we get a plot synopsis for a better film that was never made over some silly unimportant reason; "we didnt want x_thing to happen bc it would have been sorta similar to y_thing that happened in another movie, so after the film was shot we completely rewrote the character arcs for our heroes & villains and changed the ending with some reshoots and rushed CGI."
They need to stop scrambling everytime they perceive something to be going wrong, make a plan and execute the plan. This inability for ppl in management to make decisions and stick to them or allow their creators to make decisions is what famously ruined many comic book storylines, and it's ruining the MCU right now. You can't make all of that money if you cant make good products. You have to worry about making good products instead of panicking whenever you're not printing money.
I believe most of your grievances came from under the Chapek rule at Disney, since he essentially stripped Kevin Feige from his chain of command and gave it to his own suits pals, while the main logic was quantity, quantity, quantity. With an obvious disregard to either quality, or work ethics for the poor VFX teams. Not saying Iger isn't guilty of it too, but I'm pretty sure it got much worse under Chapek.
Now that he's gone, and Iger has given Kevin Feige back his creative control over the MCU, I believe things will get better in a year or 2. After all, they did announce a shrinking down of amount of projects, so I believe it's headed in a better direction overall.
I genuinely feel Dr Doom will be the only villain they can transition too that carries enough weight to be the next "big bad". However that is one problem to the Marvel movie model is they constantly need a bad guy, specifically an ever increasingly "badder" guy.
Kang is bigger, he is an entity in comics.

A major motivation for Doom was the rescuing of his mothers soul. The fracturing of the sacred timeline and subsequent pruning of timelines could impact on her status possibly erasing her from existence giving doom the motivation to go after those responsible. Enacting vengeance on kang wouldn’t be enough as he realizes the power that is up for grabs
Loki season 2 did Kang some justice. This is someone that everyone will come to respect and fear

Rehiring Downey isn't a bad idea, it's just they NEED to make sure that they make whatever character he plays different than he did as Tony Stark/Iron Man if he's going to be playing a different role. If he is playing as hologram Tony, that's a different story.
Marvel DO NOT pull a reactionary DC move & start shuffling your slate before you finish the arc you’ve already set up. Do not recast, finish the contracts etc. I want to see this Kang story completed with Majors! He is my favorite MCU villain so far.

When you create a plot point that variants of different characters exist and can look wildly different (Peter Parker, Loki, etc...), recasting Kang is the least amount of changes you can do if you replace Johnathan Majors compared to re-writing several franchise worth of movies.

The problem with that is Johnathan Majors plays the character so well that putting someone else in the role may not be able to fill those shoes causing people to hate that they recasted him.

Watched Quantumania last night - sooo much better after watching Loki! Really highlights Jonathan Majors range as a character - they totally need to play this storyline out! Also I think the main city in Quantumania is a pre-version of the TVA (circular hallways in TVA overlooking the cityscape are almost identical). When it comes time to introduce Dr. Doom - cast Tom Ellis!!!!

One thing I can't stress enough. Is that just because a movie does bad Doesn't mean it was bad. I have been seeing lately a lot of Marvel fans turning into fanatics with so many people having their own personal vision of how things should go and be shaped. That's the problem were having stop listening so much to fans and Just do what you been doing.

When Adam Driver was being mentioned I thought clearly it was to be Dr Doom and it was actually to play Reed which made no sense to me I think him and majors would have great chemistry so Driver is my choice!
"Proof Tony Stark has a heart" and "you can rest now" are the perfect ending for Tony, seeing him come back the same would ruin that beautiful exit. It would be better if they look for an Iron Man in alternate dimension are excited at seeing Tony again only to get there and it's someone else.
I would love to see Robert Downey Jr (and Scarlett Johansson) again. But also I really like Jonathan Majors as Kang, he's been playing him phenomenally. Don't want him to be dropped and replaced.
I'm actually emotionally invested into this story with kank and even jonathan majors. It's one thing to recast Jonathan majors. Which would be a major shame. But it also would be even worse for them to get rid of the king character. If they go ahead with that plan and just bring back the old Avengers. I think I will be done with Marvel. Marvel has way too many characters for them to be pigeonholed by the first six successful characters that they introduced in the movies. Corporations kill everything.
They've always been planning to bring back RDJ for Armor Wars and Secret Wars. The new plan is probably to bring him and the OG Avengers back permanently in the rebooted MCU, post Secret Wars but in a more minor role so they can focus on the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Kang hasn't been working at all. He's a horrible and convoluted character in the comics, thats why he's rarely used and hasn't had any good events or even good comics based on him. Going with the multiverse and shoehorning Kang was the worst decision Feige ever made.
In the MCU, Kang has been killed off in every appearance he's made. He's a joke and not a threat, especially when dog sized ants can destroy his suit and he can be killed by Wasp and Sylvie. Kang is over exposed and there's no reason to think that he'd be a danger to Thor or Captain Marvel.
Secret Wars has always been about Doom so pivoting to Doom makes sense. They still have 4 to 5 years before Secret Wars, about a year less than they had to build up Thanos so they can definitely build up Doom in that time and salvage the multiverse saga.

I think Marvel knows that they can't hold on to characters forever and that some new content is good. They wouldn't have been the top box office makers of the previous decade if they hadn't realized that. Feige does listen to criticism, and while his every decision isn't being controlled solely by the fanbase, there are changes being made because of this. It's important to remember that what we're hearing was ideas being thrown around, not anything set in stone yet. Calling it now, they will keep some of the newer more popular characters after secret wars, discard the ones that aren't really hitting, and bring back some old characters. Possibly recast them if actors aren't willing to continue or come back. The truth is they've invested too much in this story just to randomly quit now. The earliest we would see a change would probably post - Kang Dynasty

The only character who should come back from the main retirees is Steve Rogers, and that's because what happened with him returning the Infinity Stones is still a huge mystery, not just regarding the more nuanced particulars like returning the Soul Stone, but also answering what happened with him that his time machine went to the future without him. Depending on when he lost it or gave it up, that would be a huge explanation of why he ended up aging so much and why he appeared in the past in places he wasn't supposed to be (i.e. fighting Red Guardian)

If they want to move away from Majors fine, but not the Kang character, Loki season 2 I feel will deliver on the promise that is suppose to be Kang, plus that end credit scene from Antman. They cannot simply walk away from the character

There were 3 Spiderman actors and everyone can agree they look different but are the same character in the multiverse, doing something similar with kang is totally possible I feel. I think they might end kangs story in kang dynasty, and have dr doom lead into secret wars, but maybe not as the villan of that movie and he slowly becomes the big bad

They've already shown lots of Kang variants though, all played by the same actor.
Now the viewership for episode 6 may drop if folks thinks this story line in Loki won’t matter.
What about the acting, the sets, the cinematography, the story? All of that goes away because it might not be connected to something else? That’s a person who would never be satisfied, no matter what happens.
The viewership was already very low so this probably won't have much of an impact
here's a thought...maybe they need to bring down the cost of a movie ticket... families can't afford to go, but will wait for a streaming option, but then it is not the same to be excited about a home vid release as the hype is gone. Movies on the big screen used to be an event. You could also go to a mulitiplex and more 10 different movies were playing at a time.
Bringing back the original 6 as variants is a must, it’s what we’ve all expected. Replacing Kang is a no go though. They’ve spent 3+ years building him up already. Dr. Doom should be the next main villain though after the Multiverse Saga.
He's a good actor, and interpretates an aweasome villain, they won't find someone like him.

@@karlitatvAnd honestly, Major's isn't such a phenomenal actor that replacing him would be hard. His acting is mediocre, and since we are in the multiversal saga, replacing him wouldn't be hard to do.
Now if Majors is innocent, I have no issues with him keeping his role as Kang. However, if Disney replaces him, it wouldn't be so difficult to replace him as people here are saying. There are better black male actors who who can hold a candle to Majors. The guy who played The High Revolutionary in GOTG3 could easily ride circles around Majors as far as acting.
Agree that we don't need to rehash old characters we've moved on from. I think the only way they can "right the ship" (I actually am fine with what we've see so far) is to further develop the stories and fix the issues that people are complaining about

I really love that Marvel is really taking the time to go back to the basics because it was looking shaky for a moment.
Ryan this take is EXACTLY how I have felt about he MCU in the past 2 years. You would think in an age where a studio has the ability to be directly linked to its audience through social media and CZcams channels such as this one, the people making decisions would be able to pivot appropriately. I agree with Colton when he said that announcing the slate of MCU movies was a mistake and way too early. It seemed like the studio felt like it needed to hype up its audience when the audience was already at peak interest! So unnecessary. All that was accomplished with that reveal was forcing the studio to commit to failing projects and then further make itself look foolish when the failing franchises were then “pruned.” Ryan you are so correct when you say that they can fix this whole situation. What they have already built may not be the best content we have ever seen, but there are the bones of a very solid franchise in this mess. Stick with the characters that have been well received. Don’t be afraid to recast characters (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE CREATED THE PERFECT PLOT DEVICE TO EXPLAIN THE MOVE ) Don’t let the corporate money grabbers take control.

I'm not dismissing what Majors is accused of, but it is also corporate laziness to recast him right now. Just get through the Kang saga, and defeat Kang, and you don't need to use him ever ever again.

Obviously character development is important. During Endgame, one other person in the let out a loud "fu*k!" When Tony died. Personally for me I cried, as someone with high anxiety, I was having tears of joy I guess because when Pepper said they are safe and he can let go you could see his anxiety leave.
I'm not a Fantastic Four and Doom fan, but I know Doom needs to be done right. When I read comics I was both DC and Marvel, but my Marvel choice was mainly mutant titles and Spider-Man.

There have been more than 1 SUCCESSFUL recastings in the MCU… not just Rhodie. In fact, all of them were recasts that we can look at in hindsight and say it was for the better. Bruce Banner, Howard Stark (recasting to show older is a little different). Ross is about to be recast with Harrison Ford and not to many people are mad about that. I am hoping that Kang is not recast and this debate becomes moot. The reports I have been hearing is that Jonathan Majors was falsely accused. I sure hope that’s the case. I love his work as Kang. But if a star did the things they were accused of, Ryan is right. They don’t deserve to be famous.

I have been screaming recast everyone since endgame. It’s the character not the movie star that I go to see. Especially Cap. He is so important to the overall universe that he can only be gone for short periods of time. My hope is that after Secret Wars brings everyone back and adds variants from everywhere, the new universe is closer to the source material of the real 616.

I think it should only be for a one-off like in Secret Wars. My biggest dream would be seeing Wesley Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire, & RDJ sharing a screen as the 4 pillars of the live-action Marvel genre. That alone would make for an iconic crossover decades in the making.
You could throw in people like Chris Evans’ Cap, Patrick Stewart, Andrew Garfield, Cox’s Daredevil, Bernthal’s Punisher, Deadpool, Evan Peter’s Quicksilver, Fassbender’s Magneto, D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, & Dafoe’s Green Goblin. There’s a ton of stellar characters under the Marvel IP that can finally interact now.
I highly doubt we see all that tho. Most I predict is the NWH cast & OG FoX-Men getting a proper Avengers payday/send-off before they hit the multiversal soft reboot with a new cast of Mutants & other characters. I hope they use any possible cameos to serve the story & elevate the newer MCU generation.
What I want most of all is good writing. I wish they would hire the Daniels to direct (see: Everything Everywhere All at Once) & get some Spider-Verse writers since they can tell a multiverse story with heart. Maybe they can take a page out of ATSV & pay homage to some of the classic cartoon, video game, & comic variants, or link BTSV to Secret Wars somehow.

The thing about secret wars is that the amount of time needed to do the comic book story justice, secret wars better be 4 hours long because otherwise i dont feel like theyll be able to tell the whole entirety of secret wars
Doom needs his own series and setup, he definitely needs the time to appear and develop. A recast of Kang would be preferable to just dropping him and a reintroduction of RDJ and SJ would be a bad idea if it's not just varients that make a short appearance.

With Peter headed to community college without his friends I think it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce her as a friend, maybe they hesitate to get too close but then he finds out she has powers and he won’t feel so lonely anymore after no way home. The Firestar Spider-Man team up could be so fun! And with MJ sorta out of the picture maybe they even have a short lived romance. Drama can happen when MJ ends up back in the picture. I think it has great potential and adds another super cool fire throwing Avenger
Is there a list somewhere of all Marvel characters which have currently been identified? I'm talking MCU + Deadpool and Spiderman potential heroes and villains. Like a giant resource pool from which character could be used to form the next great story if a course correction was in order.
what they should do with Dr Doom is have him in the secret wars film as a random guy who helps out the avengers but goes a little too far, they win but end up having to stop Doom for some reason, either he gets killed by them or dies accidently. Then add an end credit scene where you see that Dr Doom was actually a robot, then you see a castle, camera goes inside and you see Dr Doom sitting in a throne room surrounded by hundreds of Doom bots and you realise theres something a lot more and darker to this guy than we realised.
The rumor should stay a rumor. I love the Loki show so far . Kang can bring dr doom actually back by getting the two old actors who portrayed doom but with justice. Look at NWH. Don’t just ignore the story just for money. Look at age of ultron. Not great but it got a great arc after endgame.

He's accused of physical abuse and sending someone to the hospital and he has yet to provide any evidence of his innocence.
If your issue is that they don't have enough strong black male characters, I agree, its really just Sam Wilson now. They should have recasted T'Challa and introduced both Blade and Wonder Man by now but circumstances prevented that.
