Can we just acknowledge the fact that a small country like Iceland has so much talent? How on earth do they come year after year with such different styles of music, but all fantastic in their genre ! Such a fun song, but so well executed. LOVE it .
The wife is the curly haired one, the sister is the singer with the glasses of Daði. All six of them of them are close friends. A close knit family :-)
And Dádi and his wife have a baby girl together too!
And the song is about his small daugther who is less than a year young

When I found out that he sings about his baby daughter I became sold. It's actually very cute and clever entry and I want Iceland to win❤🇮🇸

Iceland and Lithuania are bringing quality songs filled with the same Euro quirkiness that made us fall in love with Eurovision in the 1st place. This Euro flavor is why we keep watching.
Can we just acknowledge shortly how perfect the harmonies on this one are? ^^ Not only the main singer hitting all those low notes, the background singers amplify his vocals perfectly and just casually do the dance moves along with him, while still holding on to their individual melodies. Considering how many backing singers have been messing up Eurovision performances historically, this is really astounding!

We know how that family and friends spent the dark arctic winter nights. Getting all the details, harmonies, moves exactly right.
@@mattspintosmith5285 They made the final version of the dance the day before shooting the video. They were rehearsing for an hour on a snowy street corner while the camera crew was setting up. They are kind of gifted.
This really sticks out. So simple and yet groovey and memorable. With their 80th's style they're definatly in the current main stream movie/ series / pop culture 🤖

This year is going to be a fight between Lithuania and Iceland for the crown. They have both _snapped_ and I love this. I'm really, really hoping to see a new winner this year. Daði og Gagnamagnið is Hatari without the controversy and I think this was the best choice Iceland could have made.
Dont forget norway and Sweden

I love when a song is upbeat and happy, and both William and Deban mimic the vibe of the song and absolutely bounce to the rhythm!
I’m really enjoying this Icelandic entry. They’re one of my favourite countries in Eurovision (I still haven’t got over Hera Bjork being totally robbed in 2010, and Svala being severely overlooked and underrated in 2017 😢). This one is fun and quirky. I like it

I've actually knew Dadi from a previous project called Mixophrygian and I loved it back then, so a few weeks back when I found the song, I was like, I know him from somewhere, but where? and whooop there is where. Love him and the whole band.

This performance is PERFECT. The song was not my cup of tea but when I saw them on stage I just fell in love. It's just so sweet and lovable, so for everyone.

Iceland God Bless them, I love you. This along with Lithuania is finally going to make this an Eurovision worth waiting for on stage. A winner? Who cares, it's fun and what we love about the show. I can just hear Graham Norton saying his best lines to this on the night. Love it.

OMG love it. I don't know if it's because the rest of the selection was soo bad, but I totally missed it before with the snippets. It's SOOO GOOD !!!! I totally agree it would maybe need a little something for the ending but it's just perfect...:-) :-) The level this year is so average that it totally could stand out ! Go Iceland :-) for the win !
We had 3 strong contenders in the final show, Daði (who Won ofc) Dimma And Iva. Dimma is a locally famous rock band, and their song was pretty good.. But Iva with her angelic voice, singing oculis videre (means in latin: eye can see) lva is blind, but she sees into your soul and touches it with her voice and transports you to another plane.please please check iva oculis videre out, and be prepared to involuntary cry rivers

Daði always meant to sing this song in english.. But with, icelandic rules, the song has to be first auditioned in icelandic, so he slapped on icelandic lyrics.. But the lyrics in the english version are about his little babygirl

They can winnn, love it! I think during the contest Lithuania wil be their competators in the way that they have to share votes from people who are into these fun genre songs. And if there comes an other remarkable song in an other genre then that song could win in stead.

He wrote this song for his daughter the woman with short curls and glasses is his wife, the girl in the right of Dadi is his sister
It's a conga beat, basically, with a disco bass line, and that's partially why it's so fun. Plus, they're all really good singers (I've heard music by the woman with the blue hair-her name is Hulda-and she's great with her own band). I've heard this song enough times now that I'm at the point where I'm hearing all the layers, and Daði 's just a great producer, too. I can't imagine that he won't get tons of work after this.
I hope this song is released/promoted in the States after Eurovision, because it'd be such a great summer song!
