In my opinion the best runner up in the last decade is Turkey 2010 "we could be the same". It was very emotional because we know that they are actually talking from the Turkish citizens and try to live peacefully as citizens even though the government was very militaristic and had a lot of problems.
I really believe that even as a patriotic Israeli and a jew.
Even though Israel and Turkey are not in a good relationships,
Maybe, we CAN be the same.

Turkey had a few very good songs, 2003, 2008 and 2009 were the best.
I love that Deban chose 2010, this was unexpected because I thought he doesn't like rock. It is my no. 1 of the decade too.

Common Linnits.... Afcourse. I LOVED that song. And the performance was perfect.
My fav would be The Common Linnets or Eleni. I’m actually quite a fan of the underdogs. (E.g. winner 2018 Portugal 🇵🇹)

Mocro boy It is actually an associate member of the EBU, and has been for decades.
TheDRMISTERY 1944 is possibly one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard, and Jamala is not a great singer. You can’t even compare the vocals between the two of them.
@@jameswalker68 You're, like, objectively wrong about saying Jamala isn't a great singer. She did well on the jury vote for a reason. 1944 being a 'bad song' is subjective, but I totally disagree. Sound of Silence is honestly a pretty bland song - Dami's stunning vocals are the only thing that pulls it up.

Raphael Gualazzi is actually one of my guilty pleasures, I just love jazz sooo much, easily in my top 3 runners up this decade. At 2nd I would have The Common Linnets, such a touching song, and of course my favourite is Queen Dami, her performance and her stunning vocals gave me goosebumps in 2016.
I mean, his raspy voice is just A+++++.

3. Russia 2015 million voices . Polina also deserves to win. But if måns wasn't win we would never have the great epic eurovision song "love love peace peace"
4. Italy 2019 soldi. He should have be in the first place that year.
5. Australia 2016- Sound of silence . Dami im should have be in the first place that year.
6. Russia 2012 party for everybody. Was so funny and epic
7. Bulgaria 2017. The song was emotional and also should have win that year.

9. The Netherlands 2014. I actually think the third place ( Sweden - undo) was better but I'm so happy for Conchita wurst.

Nope lol Cyprus had a weak song but worked her ass off on the stage and Lena had a more mainstream song that worked I guess (rock has a harder time to work sometimes on people, though I loved their song of course). Seriously, 100% of people saying Cyprus should have won in 2018 are saying it ONLY for the performance. XD

Oliver7 Maunoury then you have misunderstood completely what eurovision is about its about the total package delivered in 3 minutes on live television, if you think the song is week ok, but she delivered the most professional preformance that night and based on that shoud have won. She should have been over Neta - toy but the public and jury did not agree on that so she ended 2. Place. A really good place as well. Coming top 3 is really hard and she deserved at least the place she got.
@@maa1649 I disagree. He's right. If not for the performance Elena would not have done so well. People only like the performance. You need a good song AND performance. That's the perfect eurovision package. Elena only had one part.

Dami Im - the 1st impression of hearing her singing live in 2nd semifinal got me. It didn't happen for any other Eurovision performers I heard in the last decade. That year I didn't want to listen to any other songs except our own entry before the contest and that was the best thing I did, because I could be biased based on its studio version.
