In a public voting by TV2.no between 25 ESC-songs, "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak, won the title as "Best Eurovision Song of All times".
The winning song was announced in the TV-broadcast of "Allsang på Grensen" August 7th 2019.

The fact that his voice has matured quite a bit from 2009 actually makes this song even better because he hits the deep bits even deeper whilst still being able to hit the high notes. He's actually been through some tough times for him. He's battled depression and anger issues and he's admitted to having been addicted to antidepressants for 11 years. On top of that, he's also dealt with a stalker, something he eventually revealed in his song "Leave Me Alone". So it's definitely good to see him finally enjoy life and what he's doing. He openly talks about his feelings on his facebook page now.

I remembered a few years ago ...I was invited to play the piano And I was embarrassed to say no to my teacher.... But I could not play the piano in front of the crowd at all and I would forget everything that was in my mind at that moment. I was very scared and sad. Until two days before the event, my English teacher put one of the videos of Fairytale performance in concert in class and asked us to translate it (to learn English better). And when I saw your performance, I felt much better Because I saw you having fun with your instrument and you didn't let fear ruin your performance
Well... I did the same thing Of course, I forced myself to the stage and my heart was beating so much that it was ringing in my head😅
It was very difficult at first and I looked at the piano as if I was seeing it for the first time🥲
