Why don't you invest %10 of that in my pod business which is struggling coz I'm short of cash for some resources
So I've been your voice assistant for the last couple weeks now...
Alexa getting lost and just searching the app store for Amazon download is hilarious
Agreed 💀😂
I'm sure a few things might be worse than iPhone, but I think you'd be blown away by a lot of the features on Android, and Pixel in particular, that you just can't do on an iPhone.
All options suck and are not even able to get half as close to the Russian assistant - Alice
He should have used a phone with Alexa and Amazon apps integrated
at least amazon got an idea, gratuit😁
Anyone else shocked by how lowkey good Bixby has become. Nobody took it seriously when it first came out and now it's looking like an actual competitor.
It wasn't even that long ago when everyone wanted bixby gone! Now look at bixby doing well
Yeah and Bixby Routines (I think they're changing this name tho) it is really good if you're into it, far better from Apple Shortcuts or whatever
Yes, I completely agree to this. This video truly changed my perspective towards Bixby
Especially when you see Siri in comparison... I remember when Siri was the benchmark (well, it was the first for smartphones, I think).
Kind of sad.
I think the hate for bixbi was how insanely hard samsung pushed it and forced everyone to use it.
Some earlier phones had their own dedicated bixby button which you couldn't remap until a later update. This did not seem right by anyone.
I use Google Assistant 90% of the time, but I also use Bixby on my Samsung for those times I need to go deep into my phone settings and app controls. The combo works great for me!
Yup. Bixby is really well interested into the settings. I used my voice assistant a lot and, while Google assistant is catching up to changing my phone settings, Bixby is the winner
Thank you Marques for talking to phones for hours for us😂
Please bring back the iPhone 15 Mini.... Mini phones are not for everyone but are for some of us.

It’s pretty damn disappointing to see how far Siri has fallen behind given that it was released first. Google Assistant is hands down the leading voice assistant right now.
It feels like apple isn't really paying attention to Siri anymore
Yep. Not even close
Siris voice sounds clearer tho
Siri is by now a liability. Let it drift a little more and HomePods will leave my home. One step in breaking the wallet garden
@@Tilteddog but that could just be the

Bixby did a lot better than I expected, the improvements are insane
7
Fun fact!
You can "hmm" Or "Whistle" A song on google assistant and its surprising too good!
I'd be genuinely shocked if Google assistant isn't still the best. All other assistants have improved significantly, but Google assistant just does it...better 😅
It's pretty ridiculous how they still have so many flaws and blow everyone else out of the water despite them
@@meso772 Yep siri is only good for weather, timer, and msg reply. Pretty dumb in everything else.
yeah is the smartest, but i have a google nest mini 2 speaker, and an alexa echo dot 4 gen, and alexa is by far responding much faster, and the google takes up to a minute to respond and find the ansfer, same with the smart devices control in my room, so i sold my google nest, and i remain with my alexa
Agree. I was an IOS user for a decade and used Siri regularly. It's fine and can do the basics. However I was shocked when I switched to a Pixel phone last year and started pushing the boundaries of the voice assistant. It just does stuff you assume aren't possible because you get so used to the other brands assistants which are so one dimensional.
I have an iPhone but my apartment is filled with google speakers. Google Assistant has so much trouble playing music for some reason! It keeps playing the wrong songs or has the hardest time finding my playlists
I still think Cortana sounded the best, she’s just not smart 😂
Windows phone was also my favorite to use but it didn't have the support from devs
I would love for Cortana to be licensed to Google in perpetuity. I'd love to say Hey Cortana or Okay Cortana, but have the power of Google. And heck, the voice of Cortana for that matter.
@@GTYellowJacket9the Hardware was so far ahead of its time, it was incredible, the lack of support killed it before it could take off. The sad part is, if Microsoft did it today, I think it would be more successful as they have a better relationship with third-party developersz
How I like my women 🤣
Cortana on PC is amazing, the device control is so good i could tell it to shutdown via verbal command, which most assistants would stop there, other than Bixby of course since both their nature is very similar.
What wasn't mentioned is the real time interactive goggle translate function in Google assistant. My Pixel 7 Pro has it as does the Pixel 7. Don't know about any others. It works flawlessly and what makes it so handy is that it works continually as I speak translating from one language to another on the fly and remains contextually sensitive to the content of the conversation which is where the Google assistant excels above all others
Bixby in combination with routines and routines+ is criminally underrated, the customization is endless
While driving through a snowstorm, when I asked for information regarding the storm, Seri’s answer was, “I cannot answer while you’re driving.” What use is that? Seri is totally useless in an emergency, or crisis, and that’s really when I need her ~ the rest of the time I can type my question.
Truest facts. Car play Siri is near useless for me. Ask it to navigate somewhere, on waze, and it will often ignore it and open Apple Maps. And on anything not apple, good luck accomplishing anything with voice.. "Stop navigation" does nothing for example
that sucks, but I'm pretty sure google assistant couldn't do that either. they both can only interact with media apps really. must be legal reasons?
With Siri you have to setup shortcuts which is a task in itself to get it to do something in Waze. I have spent lots of time and effort to get simple things to work. So now I just set it up in the app.
@@Doofens you sir are absolutely wrong there :D i use google assistant in my car all the time with waze without problems, works perfectly, if i say navigate to petrol station and im already in waze it just does it in waze, but i can tell it to use waze anyway and it understands, if i say navigate to xy in google maps it opens up google maps even if im in waze and starts a navigation there, obviously google assistant is still not perfect especially in a car, but million times better than carplay it seems
@@egoszmotyike Probably works so well with Waze because google owns Waze
This is about what I expected. Siri has a lot of work to do; nice job!
Surprised to see you here! Its been so long since ive watched your videoss!!
a lot of work is an understatement
I was pleasantly surprised by Bixby but i assume there's a lot of Google DNA inside it
@@panathatube that's actually a good thing Siri really struggled with understanding and also why the hell would I want to go half way around the world in a car? It legit suggests places out of my country for places I want to go too and it really needs to be fixed
U better hope she didn't hear u,lol
YES on Matter video please! Also, would love to get your take on smart home tech outside of Google/Homekit universes - like Smarthings or Home Assistant
bumb for matter
In my opinion, Bixby's translation is superior then any other translation that I've ever used in terms of accuracy when it comes to translating different words and even long phrases!
Siri unfortunately sucks in CarPlay. If you ask it a question, 95% of the time it’ll never give you a direct answer and just tell you that she “can’t display web results in the car”.
MIGHT get the correct song 50% of the time. Its fucking wild how bad Siri is with all the money they have to work with.
I laugh when Siri goes “Sorry I can’t search the web on iPhone”. Um what 🤷♂️
siri generally has bad word recognition. If I want to listen to a band that has not over 100.000 listeners a month it never finds the band, mainly because it does not unerstand what I am saying. The matching does not seem to happen on a word to word basis, but what is most likely the thing i wanted to find
google assistant in android auto sucks too tbh. they`re both pretty much the same. they should make it so you get the full functioning assistant/siri in your car, and not just "open app xyz" "play song xyz"
@@Doofens not mine, i literally do nothing with my hands when using android auto. Maybe a user error or car microphone issue
my favorite part about assistant is definitely its ability to handle context. For instance, when i ask google home something like" how long after opening is greek yogurt good", it not only gives me the answer, itll also suggest another question. itll say" other people also asked ....." ive had like 5 min conversations with google and learned way more about something then id originally planned.
I do that too but be careful because often the answers are absolutely wrong. especially math. its bad at math. Siri never messes up math, not for me ever. super strange.
@@Chris_Hruska becasue siri uses wolfram alpha
1:35 I believe the timers problem has more to do with the Clock app’s limitations than with Siri herself. After all, Siri just uses what is in-stock. If you open the Clock app, you won’t be able to set multiple timers either…
yeah, but apple designed the clock app also.
@@cuber64 Oh, really?! I didn’t know that!!
Of course they did… 🤦🏽♂️
But, again, that is not a Siri herself problem, it’s an app design issue.
For the Siri users, audio, photo & video can all be properly configured to auto start/shoot on command through Shortcuts. Far from elegant but at least it's possible to have it.
I have so much selfmade shortcuts, obviously also for making a photo
Good to know and all, but such a thing would be nearly impossible for someone like my mother to set up without help, as she and tech just don't vibe well at all. For her and those like her, the command just simply working out of the box makes a huge difference.
making siri shortcuts is such a pain
@@mollerbt you can share shortcuts with her easily.... (still would make sense to make them work oob)

@@OneKnifeYeHand There are still other CZcamsrs that do that.
With all the GPT3/chatGPT hype I really hope to see insane amounts of advancements/upgrades. If the voice assistant battle actually happens, I am sure we will see those insane improvements
I think you are not allowed to use chatgpt but I get what you are saying
@@henkiespenkie4414 you can use it right now wym
Google assistant is already using machine learning (what powers those new AIs) to drive it’s assistant results.
They’ll continue making improvements but what you’re seeing here with the context recall and general results are directly derived from similar back end tech to ChatGPT
With how far AI has come in terms of pre-trained ones (GPT3, DALLE, etc) that use pre-existing information to dynamically create new information, it'll be cool to see how developers at Google, Apple, Samsung, etc incorporate that type of machine learning into a voice assistant.
What's a REALLY cool possibility is that if every persons voice assistant is only trained to that one person, which makes all virtual assistants unique to their respective users. When you setup your phone and go through the voice assistant setup, maybe there would be personal questions asked (your full name, career, your likes/dislikes, your character traits, etc) to really personalize it for only you. When your VA then replies, it will reply in a manner that would only be appropriate or interesting to just you. And the more you use the VA, the more it will train itself to only fit you correctly. It would also be a cool experiment to let every single person in the world train their own VA and see how weird or interesting they become through all this individually different data they come across.
I'm wondering when these assistants will start leveraging ChatGPT
I would love to see this expanded and include in-home devices & car assistants. I personally am all in on Alexa atm strictly because I already have a firestick on every tv, but now you've got me thinking.

I think what automatically makes an assistant good is if it can work well with boomer parents, in my case we have been early adopters of the Google home ecosystem and my parents have never had a blatantly frustrating experience with it not being able to do something, especially with continued conversation it makes a huge difference for them to use it.
True, although what I find frustrating with the boomers is how quickly they get sucked into every product into Apples ecosystem and refuse to try something new. The new Google devices with all their AI smarts are probably better suited to them.
@@MrPixel. I've tried them all and tbh theres no significant difference. they can all turn your smart lightbulbs on and off, start a timer and tell you the weather. the google home and alexa apps are probably too complicated for the average boomer while siri just works. (google home is a complete mess)
@@Doofens lol

8:31 YES! Absolutely interested in a video about Matter!
It's also a language question. Alexa is far better in Spanish than any other. Except perhaps Google Assistant, but in my experience having Spanish speakers say the hotword to Google is enough of a hassle for most of them to prefer alexa
You choose the hotword tho
@@ygwaltgmb for google assistant? How?
Agreed. In Dutch, Google Assistant on Google Nest (Hub) can’t even start a podcast on Spotify, if you ask it for a playlist it doesn’t first start with your own etc. All sort of random questions it consistently hangs on. Siri does all this on all my Apple devices :/ more over Siris voice is far more natural and pleasing than Google assistant. When switched to English, Google does quite well. But the beta where u can have it listen to 2 languages is still dog shit after 5 years. So guess I’m stuck with 2 halve arsed assistants.
And bixby best for korean? Lol😂

Another big plus for Google assistant is the ability to speak to it in multiple languages (without changing its settings). It can handle two languages pretty well (German and English in my case) but it went all downhill when asked it some basic questions in french. Now it answers some times with weird french responses when i’ve asked something in German or English. Also try to ask Siri “How many days until next year’s Christmas?” Apparently it’s always in 7 days 😂 Google can handle it by the way and of course both can handle the more easy “How many days until Christmas?”
lmao siri 🤣
Do you ever speak in a mixture of the two languages? How does it handle that? Now I'm wondering if google assistant can understand spanglish lmao
@@GlorifiedGremlin Per command/request only German or English, but your question made me curious. I will try :-)
@@GlorifiedGremlin That would be impossible. Recognizing two languages and identifying what the user is saying is linguistically impossible, because many languages have a similar vocabulary (Exempli gratia, Spanish and Portuguese) and there are UNCOUNTABLE false cognates across languages.
@@Ed.07 Works for me when I speak both English and French at the same time. Usually French grammar and sentence structure while using English words. !
For example, I say "Hey google, active Voice Access" and it works. or I say "Il reste combien de jours pour Christmas (je viens d'essayer"

I think the biggest shocker in this test was how far bixby has come from when it started. Legitimately it used to be an extremely bad experience and now its interface is arguably better than siri! even tho it is based on google its amazing how much they have improved it and I hope it keeps getting better and better.
siri's interface has always been incredibly ugly
I remember Google Assistant with the Droid phone. Google has been able to consistently improve it. It's insane how good Google Assistant is.
I've got Google Home ecosystem and it understands me like 50% of the time. Sometimes it understands me correctly, but does something different.
My phone (pixel 7 pro) doesn't even respond to "Hey google."
I've got the Google mini and that thing always responds. Often times I'll have just woken up my voice is all messed up and I'm mumbling and that thing still understands. I'd recommend turning up the sensitivity for the wake up command
@@gabe6068 I've got 3 devices, the sensitivity is useless. I have living room on max and bedroom on minimum and still sometimes bedroom speaker responds when i am in living room. It's a sham. I've got routines i use daily, you'd think it would learn to understand "change lights to evening" when I said it 1000x but instead it asks "set alarm for when?" Or "i found a shopping centre near you in Beijing only 5,000km away" it's become more useless by the years.

Maybe next time you can include the way the assistants announce messages/calls and interacting with them without touching the phone while listening to music and through earbuds.
MKBHD knows these companies listen. Doing this stuff will ultimately benefit us all. Thank you Marques! What a leadership!
It's crazy how none come even close to Google Assistant 😂😂 If there is something Google is good at, would be knowing how you work.
And how you like photos to be..
It makes sense that Googles is the best. They collect all information on you unabated and therefore know everything there is about you. With Apple, Bixby and Alexa, they all don't have nearly as much information as Google does so they all have to do a lot of guesswork or generalization.
Google is good at AI stuff in general. They've been doing it for ages so the other guys have to catch up.
Google is great at googling. Go fig
also camera phones :)
thanks for mentioning matter, because this is truly changing a lot
“…and Alexa is lost.” My favorite line. 😂
In a competition between 4 vocal assistants Alexa still gets 5th place
You should do this for smart home speakers. I'd be curious how Alexa stacks up on their own hardware.
there alexa will come second after GA
Bixby is still extended underrated. Especially from a developer standpoint. Bixby makes it extremely easy to make your apps and datasets work instantly and Bixby shortcuts for controlling the phone (I use a shortcut for swapping keyboards and changing orientation when I close/open my fold). Ecosystem wise...Google is just crushing everything. Lights, cameras, speakers, etc. Like I don't understand why ppl buy smart tvs bc I just 'upgraded' mine by getting chromecasts. Now I just talk to play stuff everywhere. I didn't even know hulu updated its ui bc I never open the app
Fun fact: if you want to open an app. You can say 'go go gadget instagram' to Google assistant
Great video as always, Marques. Would definitely like to see a video on Matter and Thread. Just started to build my smart home and not sure if I should continue on the iOS route.
Profoundly fascinating. The Google ongoing conversation stuff especially.
I like how Bixby opens Google Maps when you asked where the Taj Mahal was. Siri throws a shortcut, I guess, to the Maps app, Google seems to just give you the result for "Taj Mahal" and Alexa throws in a text answer, which, as someone who hasn't been to India, means absolutely nothing to me.
Personally if I ask where something is I just want a city/state/country answer, with the option to open the map after. If I ask how to get somewhere then I want the map.
The location showed in the pin was wrong though. :)
It’s really cool to see how Bixby has improved over the years, from being one of the worst, to being a bit better.
Only wish Samsung released homepod competitor.
Kinda wanted to know about setting appointments, reminders, things that you would hire a personal assistant to do, that no youtubers online are reviewing anywhere. Maybe even an app that handles that idk.
Kinda cool how far Bixby has come. It was the punchline for so many years now, but now it almost made second place.
It would great if you could make a video about different smart home ecosystems👍
That could be combined with a Matter video. Would be great!
3:07 the hermit seems dope!
Thank you for not saying "Ok Google" during the whole video. I was constantly expecting you to activate my Google Nest :P
Bixby routine is highly underrated. I feel like that should have been considered as well seeing how much it could do.
He is biased towards Google and Apple unfortunately
Agree!! That's one of the features I miss on the Pixel. Bixby routines and Siri Shortcuts are the best.
That's the only part of Bixby I use. Got turned off from the assistant from it being so bad back when it came out lol

You can ask siri to "set an alarm for 10 minutes" to get multiple timers. It's technically an alarm not a timer but acts exactly the same as one.
Congratulations, you've been chosen as a winner of my give-away,hit me up on tele-gram for package......🎉
I remember when Siri was first announced a big part of the presentation is how it would remember context and be conversational; even though I enjoy Siri for a few key things that work consistently and are always faster than taking the manual steps, I would still love for them to execute on that original vision.
what you're asking for is extremely difficult, google assistant can't even do it which is backed by google's ai companies
Contextual clues weren't even added to Siri until iOS 8. You can't ask a series of questions to any capacity on iOS 5-7. Siri just has no clue.
@@15Stratos Real tech tho, it exists and Google is holding out. ChatGPT does it with flying colors it's why the internet is obsessed with it. It's just the tech is cloud based and too "smart" for its own good to easily control (plus hard to validate its answers), and Google is scared of a big media outlet catching a LLM in saying something inappropriate or inaccurate in today's world of mass misinformational panic.
@@15Stratos Hmm. Odd. Because Google Assistant does that in this video. Maybe one of us misunderstood....
Behind the scenes they actually had to completely rework Siri a few years after introducing it as the way it was architected when they bought Siri (the company) just wasn’t scalable. That would explain why it seemed stagnant for some while.
It's amazing how good bixby has become. Specially along with bixby routines, makes a whole new experience.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, setting up alarms with the main Bixby button is extremely smooth and honestly surprisingly reliable.
Bixby routines now no longer uses Bixby on it's name. Samsung realized that people hates bixby and decided to not associate its best feature with the name
@@mehshutup3041 nah now Bixby has been more improved
Bixby is a lot better.
Forgotten categories that I think need some love:
More advanced Media controls (adding songs to queue, like/dislike a song, add to library, skip to certain timestamp or lyric within the song etc.)
Multilingual support. I’m from Germany so when I ask for a song to play, it’s often in English and the German GA for example absolutely sucks at understanding these requests. Siri is ok but not great either.
Great video, I use it mainly for controlling smart home devices
Definitely interested in the ‘next gen’ conversation.
2:58 Even Siri says look what I GOOGLEed for you during Voice assistant battle 😅
There’s one really key topic you missed. CarPlay/Android Auto - I switched from Samsung to iPhone and the thing I miss the most is google assistant while driving. You can’t ask Siri to google anything while Google Ast would still read from google and answer your question.
I used to use google to study all the way back in high school. It could keep up with questions and relay facts and since it had the search memory it would keep relevant answers.
Please do a video on Matter. I don't quite understand it and seem to get mixed answers when I search it up. I think it would make a great topic for a video.
Great video. Would like to see the same for smart speakers.
Same! I feel like Siri on HomePod is the best assistant for smart homes. It knows to only switch the lights in the room you're talking to, when you don't specify and you can also chain as well as exclude devices from being switched. "Turn off all the lights, except under cabinet" or "turn on the fan in the living room and in the bedroom"
Me too was considering ditching Alexa for a nest hub because Alexa can't really answer many questions accurately.
Very good info. Thanks. The one difference I find useful/aggravating is HOW the fact question is answered. Google usually will just say the answer. Siri almost always says, "Here's waht I found for you on the web." and then you have to read.
I would love to learn more about Matter! That would be amazing.
I have Google Assistant smart speakers at my home, while my parents have Alexa. Google is way better... But god damn, I love Alexa's voice!
Which makes so little sense. Google has done so much work with artificial Voices in the ML world. Why don't they just release it for their Assistant?
@@gempir You can change Google assistant's voice.
Bixby is so damn underrated right now. Especially if you are into the Samsung ecosystem and use bixby in your galaxy buds with instant answer and stuff, it's just miles ahead of everything else. I'm glad Samsung didn't give up on it and it's actually improving it non-stop and absolutely focused on making it the best. With the current news of Google slowing down assistant focus, Bixby might very well become the top 1 if Google starts giving up on assistant. Bixby also has now processing in the phone itself and can do a lot of stuff offline. Also Siri has fallen behind so damn much...
Seriously, the way Bixby is integrated with my cellphone is amazing. It controls everything so well, the only thing I sometimes miss is the ongoing conversation capabilites, but I barely use those anyway. SmartThings is also great to be paired with it
I doubut google giving up on assistant, and bixby has has bad rep and poor marketing tbh, still good but no where near in terms of scale and growth as its limited to samsung
Try Bixby in Norwegian, swedish, Danish, Dutch, Portugese (not Brazilian Portugese) , Hungarian, Csech, Russian, Arab, and so on and so on. it will not work. Bixby may be fine for some langauges: English (variants), Brazilian Portugese, Spanish, French, German Chinese Korean and Italian. That is all.
I'm a fan of bixby. I use it on all my Samsung devices. Like my watch, phone, headphones & tablet. And that's what I set my smart home around so i got tvs to match 😁
Bixby seems to have these great features, but I won't switch over to it before it adds more language support. It's to silly for me to have a calendar with events in my non native language. :/
Would be really interested in 'Matter' and cross compatibility. Stuff like HomeKit working with Google Nest speakers and so on? I know Matter V1.0 will not take care of cameras etc, but smart speakers, plugs, bulbs and integration across the different services. :)

after seeing those latest videos, I'm more and more tempted to switch from iphone to pixel. Much better camera, much better assistant, the only thing apple's got on me is the ecosystem and the eye candy animations
Well with Android you can customize the animations to be anything/any phone you want even iPhone the downside is you have to buy your apps again since Apple, Amazon and Google don't share app licenses sadly
I personally prefer Samsung S22 Ultra for it's better screen and features. Pixel's software -is glitchy- and Apple's lacks basic features, but they all have their pros and cons and it depends on what you like
@@willwunsche6940 I don't think the pixel software is glitchy at all. It might have been a while back but from what I've heard its perfectly fine now. Been using a Pixel 7 Pro myself and have had no issues
@@TheRealAstro_ Oh good to know! In my past experience it had a lot of bugs, less support and I thought it was still the same problem as the MKBHD video showed. I used to despise Samsung software pre-S9 but it is entirely different beast now that One UI is a thing.
@@TheRealAstro_ Just wait lol, it's the defining pixel feature. My Pixel 1 started great and so did my Pixel 5, really annoying bugs within a year, takes forever to fix and sometimes they just dont fix them
Alexa the past few years has just... got worse. By far.
But it's not necessarily the voice control, it's the integration and settings that can't be changed.
"Alexa, turn on the bedroom light"
"Okay, while you're at it, would you like to [something completely irrelevant]"?
ALMOST. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I do not CARE. I want my alarm turned off, I do not want you to tell me about browsing the Amazon Deals of the Day page...
And the last time I looked online, it's not something you can turn off! Absolute B/S
Unfortunately that was Alexa's purpose all along: to pump up Amazon sales
OMG that sounds miserable! It really tries to sell you stuff after a command? Who could have possibly thought that was a good idea...
So happy I don’t get Alexa lol. Sorry this happens m, but as the other comment mentioned, this was to boost Amazon sales.
Its crazy how people keep saying that yet its been years of daily use and my echo has never said an extra word about amazon itself
I still remember when Alexa didn’t wake me up by calling me sunshine as she told me the weather after turing off my alarm
I use shortcuts a real lot. The one downside to shortcuts is that you have to remember the exact phrase you used during setup / naming. "turn on the lights" or "switch on light" just won't work
yes please make a video about Matter, been waiting on it so i know which way to go with home automation.
I don't think you covered that Bixby has pretty in-depth routines too that work awesome!
Things like turning off power saving once I reach home. Even turning my data / wifi on and off depending on location.
Couldn't agree more! During the summer I have used Bixby to turn on the air conditioning at home once I leave the office and turn on the lights once I get near home. It's like having an actual assistant at home!
Is that Bixby related? I can do those things with stock Android on my Pixel.
@@lewiscopland4568 As far as I'm aware, yes. They're called Bixby routines.
You can do things like automatically turning on your Samsung TV on certain channels once you're home at a certain hour. Maybe text a family member automatically once you're at a specific location.
It's pretty darn customizable :)
I'm honestly so sad that I only found out about the clippy sweater. He is one of my favorite characters. So iconic. I immediately paused this video and went to find it - only to be absolutely heartbroken that it was sold out.
I have never seen a sweater I wanted more than that one
I think one of the most uses is asking it to call someone.
Yes, I'd love to see a video on Matter. Great video thanks! (Just what I expected as an Android user)
Props to Samsung for bringing Bixby to the point that it is. I use it almost every day and I've done so for a few years. It just consistently gets better and better. I hope to see a video soon of how well each assistant interacts with it's ecosystem
yeah it is almost an Google Assistant with Samsung skin! If it works, do not change heh?
It sucks. It's honestly really bad. Google is far, far superior.
I'm really liking this very contextual informative type of video that you're doing. Whilst having the test and the results are nice, this delivery of your thoughts into a summary is very refreshing! Thank you. 😊👍
conversationalism is the biggest reason why i’ve been using google assistant for my home setup for years
6:35 speaking of coincidence, i was having dinner in a pub with my son, and i asked him about the music that was playing, he said it was weekend - i have never asked about modern music to anyone for at least two years, and here we have weekend come up twice in two days, also i explained to my son that the pixel 7 had found all the tracks for me from a mix tape i've had since 1990.
Google Assistant also has rather good voice 'training', from what I've found.
My mother has a thick Indian accent sometimes, and after just saying a few phrases into the phone using the voice training setting, the assistant can not only detect her voice but it can differentiate between my voice and hers very easily.
It's so accurate that when I speak to the same Google Home device, it recognises that it's me and speaks back with the voice I selected (Aussie Woman) and any connections to my account (if I have Spotify Premium, only my voice can command it whereas when someone else talks the assistant responds very differently).
That's one thing I haven't really seen done well, if at all, on other assistants. They just can't support multiple users on one Assistant device to such a great degree of accuracy, not like Google.
Google wins hands down.
I heard somewhere that Amazon is dropping Alexas hands free function. That means you would have to have the Alexa app up and running to be able to talk to it. 🤔
This is currently true on the S22 I'm using 😬😬
@@mkbhd what the, thats such a weird thing to do. You really never know with these companies anymore
Interesting to know
@@lyndonhayes3311 I think it comes down to Amazon cutting costs on Alexa and gradually moving away from it. Alexa has been costing Amazon about $10 billion a year and the results aren’t there for that price, so I think you’ll see them scaling it back and no longer positioning it as a real competitor to the other voice assistants, all in an effort to stop the project from burning through cash.
@@BryanTerran Exactly, it costs a lot to keep developing the service and to keep servers running but it hardly makes them any money. They sell their smart speakers at a loss as well to get people in to their ecosystem but can't make the money back. Makes me wonder what Google and Apple is planning for their services, the same got to be true for them, right? People asking about the weather, setting timers and playing their favourite songs can't make them much money. I guess time will tell 🙂
There is only one assistant that when you say answer phone or reject phone it does and switch up to speakers mode, when you say pause the youtube video and then continue playing the youtube video it does. You can say dismiss the alarm to it. It can turn off the screen on the contrary to Google assistant. It can also answer phone for you and read your messages in real time to the one on the other side of the call and convert their voice into the messages. Maybe there are more abilities that it has got. It's Bixby and with those mentioned, Bixby is the best if we talk about being useful.
In early 2020 I had a major accident at home and managed to use Siri to get rescued, but it was quite tedious and I ran into surprising roadblocks (I could make a call, but not turn on speakerphone without first unlocking my phone???). Just recently I had a similar style conversation with Siri and she asked if I needed her to call the emergency services! That seems like a big improvement (I'm in Australia by the way).

4:36 of course Alexa will not open Netflix! It is the competitor of her creators 😏
😂
My guess is 5 years from now the assistants will be wildly better with what we see from chatGPT and Lamda
Humming to Google Assistant to identify a particular songs is a dope features that Siri lacks, I don't know if Bixby or Alexi can do it tho
1:23: iphone clock app only has one timer at the same time, if you asked it on the apple watch it would probably do it
Congratulations, you've been chosen as a winner of my give-away,hit me up on tele-gram for package......🎉
if its possible, it would be great to have some good data on how well it understands imperfectly ennunciated English
They all suck. It's interesting how these companies can't make an assistant that understand foreign accents.
Google assistant is absolutely insane at that. %100 the best in my experience, especially for strong African accents or indi accents google assistant will understand
@@ajnart_ can it handle the scottish accent test tho?
My wife has a strong Latin accent and google gets it right every time. The voice assist in the tesla couldn't understand and we had to change it to Spanish. No problem with the google in the volvo electric.
I'm just talking from my experience with people around me. Granted they're not south american or Indian.
