It’s no surprise this works, but you are essentially adding resistors to a circuit so your current or voltage will be lower and therefore increase your charging time when compared to a single adapter
The current will be lowered, actually. Significantly increasing the charging time.

That bend is known as a stacked tolerance, basically parts need a little wiggle room otherwise you cant get them into and out of where they are supposed to be. That little wiggle room got larger every time he adds a part. Same thing happens in 3d models thats why u gotta be careful when designing parts so that tolerances dont stack up when referencing areas of a part.

You should totally check if the wattage & voltage is the same
It won't be. Even if the adapters are all made from the best conductors on the planet, you'll still be adding resistance to the circuit. Maybe it's small enough that it's negligible, and you'd need a 5-digit voltmeter to detect it, or maybe it is significant that you'll double your charging time.
Either way, it's not a really useful thing to do.

Adapters only connect the pins of one port to the pins of another while adding a bit of resistance. It doesn't matter how much you tangle the tiny pins as long as it's connected it will work.

umm its kind of surprising since these are bottom end cheap Chinese adapters likely loaded with defects. If you added ten times as many it probably wouldn't charge, or it would charge so slowly that it would die faster than it would charge.

i used a usb to usb-c adapter to put the usb receiver of my desktop headset into my phone and it worked
It could be an issue, because USB uses series resistors to configure the bus. If there is additional resistance, such that the value does not fit any expected configuration, it's not clear what will happen. At this point it depends on the USB controller and ths OS, whether the device will be accepted at the lowest possible speed or not at all.
