I live in the US, and I would like to retire to Valencia using a non-lucrative visa. Since I can’t work due to the visa, I would be living off my dividends from my stock market investments, 401k, SS, and my Roth IRA. For the life of me, I can’t find anything clear on what my taxes would be like! (Ie. income tax, local tax..etc) I plan on renting, and not buying. Making a video about this would be VERYYY helpful I’m sure to a lot of people!
And after 3 years you can apply for 5 years if am not mistaken, so my question is after 3 years to apply you have to show 26k *5=130k euro in order to have 5 years card?
how can you assist after arrival in Madrid under non lucrative Visa , to process the residency card?

Does that mean you become a tax resident of Spain and are taxed on world wide income, because have to stay in Spain for 185 days to keep the residency ?

Hi Adam, it does not have to be in a Spanish bank account. If you do want to open an account you can come to Spain and get a NIE number and open a bank account with that number. Regards.
Filipino people can apply 2 years non lucrative visa? The first process we need to have 26,000€ in our bank account right? After we renew for 2 years we need to show 52,000€ ? After 2 years we need to undergo exam if we pass we can get citizenship ? If we have citizenship are allow to get a normal job?

Hi, there is no problem applying if you are lgbt person and your partner is the same sex as you. There will be some things you will have to prove in order to apply together, otherwise you might need to do two applications. Hello, Great video! I will have the money for the non-lucrative visa from the sale of my house, but will not have this in time for the application/appointment. Is it possible to use my 401k retirement account balance as the financial proof? I do not currently draw from the account, but could if I needed to.

David Suarez Hi David, From what I understand what will or won’t be accepted varies based on where you apply. From other’s experiences I have learnt that the LA & Miami consulates both accept retirement accounts even if you are not retirement age. I have no information on the other locations unfortunately. I have savings but not the full €25,560 (only about half) and i have my monthly income. Can I still apply with what i have saved and proof of my monthly income, which will equal more than €25,560 annually?
Hi Liby, thank you for your question. Yes! You can study while you are on a non-lucrative visa, the only thing you are not allowed to do is work. What if you work online for an American Company?
You cannot apply for a non lucrative (or working) visa and work even if remotely!
