    Ukrainian drones “have knocked out 600,000 to 900,00 barrels” of Russia’s daily oil-refining capacity.
    Industry experts estimate that Ukraine’s campaign of long-range drone strikes on Russia’s energy industry has already succeeded in knocking out between 600,000 and 900,000 barrels of Russia’s daily oil-refining capacity, Bloomberg reports.
    Ukraine launched a bombing campaign against Russia’s oil and gas industry in January 2024 using domestically produced long-range drones. According to Kyiv officials, these air strikes are designed to starve the Russian invasion force inside Ukraine of fuel while also undermining the economic foundations of Vladimir Putin’s war machine. On March 1, Russia imposed a six-month ban on gasoline exports in a move widely linked to Ukraine’s drone attacks.
    Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has successfully targeted more than a dozen Russian refineries, leading to production halts and damage to critical infrastructure. With the majority of Russia’s air defense systems currently deployed in Ukraine, the Kremlin is struggling to defend against Ukraine’s drone attacks.

    Thank you. You are spot on with every point you made. Regarding your comments about Ukraine attacking russian oil industry, I'll repeat a post I made on Anna From Ukraine's channel: I’ve heard that certain high level US government politicians and military are telling Ukraine to cool it on blasting russian oil industry infrastructure. As an American, all I can say is “Shut the F up”. Since we have allowed a couple of individuals in congress to prevent us supporting Ukraine, WE HAVE NO RIGHT, NO PLACE, NO JUSTIFICATION for telling Ukraine what you can or cannot do, AT ALL! It is a real shame that the USA has lost all respect and shows how afraid and weak they really are. But we know this from history. USA is not a leader, it just professes to be. It is no good at war either, it has only had 5 international wars, lost 4 and won only the gulf war. The losses are amongst the most protracted in history, Afganistan, Iran and Vietnam prove USA is simply a loser with big guns. Wars are won with heart and the determination to stand up to evil. USA is the exact opposite of its Hollywood projection of being the heroes winning good over evil. The rest of the free world has woken up to the USA, all fur coat with no knickers. What an absolute let down in the face of world events. It is time USA shut up about being a world leader, it clearly is not. Slava Ukraini. The real heroes, defending the free world.

      It's not really so much about trust as it is about obtaining military support, and that's going to be subject to the politics of the day. And that's not limited to dealing with the US. Germany, for instance, is another case. If the US Congress were to lose a couple of the Republicans, then military aid would no doubt restart. Bottom line, the log-jam is really down to one man's political games.

Putin will likely find a way to back off which will necessarily put Ukraine on the offensive in the near-term, which in turn will likely negatively impact Western support. @@pcopeland15 You could be correct, concerning strategic vision. I haven't heard the administration come out and clearly explain what their objective is in the war.
      That said I think they fully know what they're doing. I'm of the opinion that they desire the status quo i.e. where neither side can prevail. Because they fear a collapse of the Putin regime similar to the 1991 Soviet Union collapse. If the Russian Federation were to collapse. Many new nations would form, and no one knows how they'll align themselves. Coupled with these states possessing nukes. Also, China would be emboldened and might try to expand, expand all the way into Siberia. Then the USA could be forced to either let it occur or confront China.
      Now I think the USA should fully support Ukraine and let the chips fall where they fall concerning the Russian federation. But as with every decision, there's risk. And I'm not privy to the same info as our leaders are.

    I heard it here as well, the narrative of an economic effect of the refinery attacks. It is much more than that : the refineries are there to supply local demands, not to export. If enough refineries were attacked, russia would simply not be able to sustain agriculture, civilian and military demand for diesel, gas and other products.

    • @TomTomicMic
      @TomTomicMic Před měsícem +1

      The export of refined products has been halted to most countries and this was due to complying with OPEC+ limits allegedly, but most analysts put it down to poor maintenance forcing a cutback, this was before the refinery attacks by Ukraine, so Russia is down by over 50% of refined products in total most probably by now!?!

I also think you hit the nail on the head about the "imagined status quo"? I've felt for a long time that our country (& others) are not dealing with the reality of what Russia represents, as if they're engaged in political wishful thinking. I can't help but think some US reluctance to truly advance Ukraine's prospects for victory are because politicians & donor corporations have business/investment interests with Russia. • @MikeOxlong-
      @MikeOxlong- Před měsícem +1

      There’s some disturbingly questionable antics being played out from the Chezhs as the prime minister and president have been touting different numbers and costs. Originally it was said that they found 1 million shells and the cost would be 1.5 billion (and that they were ready to be shipped right away into Ukraine). Then once the funds were mostly allocated the story started changing. They first started by saying that not all shells would be NATO compliant and that the physical breakdown would be 300k of 122mm and 500k 155mm. Then not a week later they said that the payment of 1.5 billion (which was already more than 2.5 times the going rate for new production munitions) was only “enough” for the first batch or shipment of 300k shells (turning up the already significantly high price to 5 times more)! And now several weeks later again they’re saying that that the initial batch can’t be delivered until the end of June at the earliest while claiming they can get 500k more (at an even crazier price)! The whole thing stinks to be honest…

Figuring that Exxon has ordered the majority of the materials needed to do the repairs and it is being done by people who are skilled in this kind of repairs makes one wonder about all of the refinery capacity that has been taken off line in Russia. The sound quality on this one was too difficult to listen to. Love your show though. You're in a "live" room when you record this. This means the walls floors and ceilings are parallel to each other other, and the surfaces are hard and reflective. The solution is to record in a closet surrounded by hanging clothing which will absorb the sound and you will be in your own natural sound booth.

    Quick tip: Order a Boya M1 lavalier microphone. It has a built-in amplifier, and can be plugged directly into your laptop or phone, for great audio recordings on the fly, anywhere you travel. It will vastly improve audio quality. One step up from the M1 is the MM1, which is more directional, but requires you to either hold it, or mount it (purchase a cheap travel stand / tripod for tables). The MM1 is only slightly better than the M1 if you record in noisy environment.
    The Boya M1 is about €20. The MM1 is about €30-40. Both are plug'n play.
