    I blew a cuff out in 1992 in a fight. I had surgery, physical therapy and what not…Took 1 year before I could throw a small stone across the street. I was 27 then. I’m 63 this year and still do 200 2 pumps daily in about 20 minutes. I still do Dips too. YOU WILL BOUNCE BACK. Be patient and relentless. Adapt, overcome, prevail.

    Shout to you Iron Wolf!... I was always amazed that you were able to train so hard without having one of these issues. It feels good to push yourself, and sometimes periods of over exertion feels like the rest of the tough training... I had to learn this with my anterior hip impingement, that I ignored because I wanted to grit through burpee workouts. It took me two years of research before I found out about the banded-hip mobilization needed to free my hip joint due to my transition to a seated job after years of standing and as lab worker and teacher. Relearning your body is definitely part of the game. I'm glad you're still able to move around...

    Definitely, injuries does happen when you don't expect it. I have been training for 37 days with a day rest in between. But these training sessions that I have been doing is because you motivated me to add Burpees into my training. I never ever did Burpees. I now love Burpees. I start off with Burpees like 4 pumps, Navy Seal or 5 pumps standard Burpees. I have written down some of your various Burpee workouts, which helps me to enjoy my training so much. Thanks a lot to you. Gday from Australia. Hope you recover soon, champ.

    Great time to reiterate the need to be smart and listen to your body ! It will tell you something isn't right far before the injury occurs. During my hardest workout period I was dealing with fatigue that wouldn't go away but i kept on training until it got to a point where I was so tired and weak I was not physical able to do any thing beyond going to work and then into bed. I am now 3 months off of training and just now coming back to a state where I feel good and energized. If I would of listened to my body 6 months prior and rested for a week or two I wouldn't have been in this position. But lesson learned and it was a god one at that. Taking breaks is okay Rest the body rest the mind and get stronger.

  • @midnightcassettelibrary5171
    @midnightcassettelibrary5171 Před 6 měsíci

    You got some wise words here. I agree bout using getting sidelined by injury as an opportunity. When I first got into burpees my knees kept getting trashed. So I took a break to focus on gaining the knowledge and science on how to get my knees strong again. Now I do this every time I strain a part of my body..I pause, and use it as a knowledge break so I can learn how to strengthen those areas and prevent future injury as best I can.
    Thanks for giving us this update, wish you the best. Whenever my friends ask my about burpees I immediately refer them to your videos to see examples of what I believe to be clean and consistent form. I’ve cooked up a few routines of my own by extracting a lot of what you’ve taught on your channel and mixing things up. I’m 49 and doing burpee variations I never thought I could do without breaking myself but I have stuck it out and am grateful that I could really have a shot at bettering myself. Peace!
