The werewolves they were originally gonna use looked amazing and creepy. Far better than what we got in the end. Studio interference has ruined so many movies. I'll never understand it. Why hire talented, creative people to make a film and then make the process a nightmare for them? Undermining their choices and demanding changes left and right until you're left with a total mess. Makes no sense at all. This film could have been great.
Because you have suits who think they know how to make a movie some of the best movies are the ones that studios had no faith in like Star Wars the first 2 alien movies predator
Yup. The Rick Baker designed Judy Greer werewolf is fantastic and really scary looking. Far better than what we got.
Hollywood's biggest issue for decades now is scripts being bought snd production begun just to have the people paying decide they have better ideas and change it on the go until it becomes unrecognizable. These are the type of films that deserve to be remade. Except for this instance when the freaking movie exists. Just release the damn thing.
Why?
Probably cocaine and jealousy. But I'm unsure in which order.
@@jimbowlan5804 wish they'd learn that they don't know how. It's almost always a disaster.
The part where the werewolf flips the bird I thought was the funniest part. My dad and I were laughing our asses off.
I felt like that absurdity was a middle finger directly at the Weinsteins from Wes Craven for putting him through this madness
@jazzyblade1631 I made a screenshot of it and use it occasionally for people who annoy me LOL
LIAR!!! 😂 I completely agree.
I remember when this was in the theater.
I went with my father, and he walked out pissed. I remember him saying, "That's how a movie that's been in a chop shop looks. It's a chop shop movie."
It, therefore, set a bar for me. So when I started watching the Hellraiser films...
Hey! Christina Richie talking a werewolf to trash and then getting flipped off by said werewolf is fantastic. That scene is the movie’s saving grace.
It is a decent movie. But that scene is GOLD.
Nick Offerman sighting at 5:02
I've never seen this movie, but the werewolf flipping someone off is fucking hilarious.
I liked it.
Next year's gonna be the 20th anniversary of Cursed ,good time to release a Directors Cut
Thanks for that.... Really .. I had to rewind the beginning of this video about a dozen times because...
I forgot that a werewolf flipping someone off is one of the funniest images ever... Like period
A re-re-upload? You love Cursed
I own the version we got and find it fairly entertaining as well as, funny. (I know it's not the best movie) I really would have liked to see this version on the big screen though. That's crazy.
Anything with Judy Greer is a winner!
We need to get a graphic novel version of Wes Craven's *"CURSED",* based on Kevin Williamson's original screenplay (with Rick Baker's werewolf designs) before the changes as suggested by the Weinsteins.
Thank you so much for making this. I’ve always wondered about the original cut. Super interesting about Skeet Ulrich as well. Would also love to see these deleted scenes! Stop studio interference! Let artists be artists.
I actually really enjoyed this movie. If they hammered out the lore a little better it would have been probably really good
Dude i just watched your other 2 cursed videos last week. The release time on this one is crazy!!
Even the final version had issues. There’s unrated & pg-13 versions of the film. The Weinsteins want the movie to appeal to teenagers. So they had the movie cut to the pg-13 version.
I always thought this movie was kinda weird but after seeing this video I definitely know it was even weirder.
Plus Christina Ricci had a huge forehead in this movie for some reason and that's the main thing that sticks with me to this day
I use to love The Family Show with Craig. Then he got his late night talk show. He really is a huge A-hole, the whole time I believed it was a character like most comedians do.
The original ideas for the movie, was apparently that it was supposed to be about a New York serial killer, with the twist that he was a werewolf. But I guess it was too similar to the original Howling?
What I hated most about the movie we got, was the whole Hollywood setting.
Which killer you referring to my dude? I'm right here in NJ.
He flew out of there like a moSkeeto. Somebody wanted reimbursed for Cursed. Effing Swinesteins.
No idea they had skeet in this. Didn’t kno there was an original version
As a huge fan of RnB music, i was honestly surprised by how natural Mya seemed. Her scene with the werewolf was honestly probably the only tense parts of this entire movie.
It would be interesting to see the original footage that was shot….

Made with HARPA AI
It would be cool if they used animation or CGI to re create those unfilmed scenes, so they could release the original cut, it would be quite interesting
Lmfao @ 5:02. He’ll take all the bacon and eggs you have.
This movie is pretty good. I just watched it last year for the first time. It's one of the most '90s horror movies that was ever released in the '00s!!!.
I thought that was Nick Offerman at 5:02 😅
IS there an OG cut ?
If so i will valiantly wait for that !
7:08 what's that from? I know it but can't place it.
Teen Wolf t.v. show, I think. Either that or True Blood.
Does anyone have a link or know where I can find the script to this version of the movie? I've tried searching for it and keep coming up with either links to either this video or the post that is linked above.
~~First time I seen it ,unbeknownst to me, was the Unrated version&liked it. Seeing the theatrical version later I honestly thought it was just edited for TV at first? It's was among a handful of movies* actually refreshing at time when Hollywood was well deep into their asinine cookie cutter lameness. FYI: His references to Shannon Elizabeth shows he hadn't seen the Unrated version? Regular implies something happened w/it you see exactly what happens to her.
*Constantine. Wolf Creek. Exorcism of Emily Rose&cpl others that were first decent crop in awhile. It was so bad Foreign Horror was the only thing worth watching good 5-6 yrs prior this/these.
I might be in a minority, but I liked the theatrical cut a lot
I loved Christina, and Jesse was pretty good
The only thing I didn't like was the end
But overall I liked it a lot, and it is one of my favorites and must watch once I'm a while
Conceded, I am a Wes Craven fan, so might not be unbiased here
Unfortunately the "Weinkenstein" were involved, and that's the only thing I hate about it
I heard all the footage still exists but I got a wonder how much would it cost to finish the original ending!
I read that James Brolin played Vince's father and Forrester was a detective
I love this terrible movie so much. It's so bad but also so good lol
I like this movie
Bob Lob Law was set to be the villain ?! 🤣🤣
I honestly love this movie
I really want to see the original cut.
They should have just left it as an R rated movie.
Trying to make a meta version of a werewolf film isn't a bad idea, it's just that Harvey and Bob believed that a PG-13 version would have been more marketable.
This movie had a good soundtrack if I remember correctly 👍🏾
No wonder Wes trash-talked Hastur Weinstein to his face in Scream 3
5:01 sudden Nick Offerman!
Watched halfway before it became clear this was a smear video & not a run through of the original script.
Loved this movie as a kid, WAY overhated.
Easily has that 2000s y2k feel.
People need to enjoy movies for what they are, ENTERTAINMENT.
I think the movie we've got was pretty entertaining and fun and not that bad as you describe
I've read the script and would love to see all the available footage but more than anything else I want to see Mandy Moore's opening scene.
I still enjoy watching Cursed but I want so freaking badly to see the original copy.
Christina Richie and me have the same forehead ugh I love her
Never saw this
Garbage 🗑️
Finally a film that truly highlights nostril flares
I’ve always loved this movie flaws and all.
Have they ever released this cut
Still a great movie.
I missed this one for some reason?
That movie WAS pretty not extremely terrible.... Until a werewolf flipped the bird.....
Oh... And until Christina's brother.... Was on screen 🤦
Literally Jesse's BEST performance and it's used for the sole purpose of making strong and confident men look like they all sing that one Butter's song🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
Joni??? as in Joni Loves Chacchi??? with Scott Baio????
luV that movie
I know this. Christina Ritchie was sexy and fine AF in this movie.
Re upload?
Skeet. Skeet. Skeet! 🍆🌧🌧🌧
I need a documentary on The many films The Weinbros have ruined
For real... they're notorious for interfering with their productions.
Rumor: Miramax tried to get Disney Animator Eric Goldberg to animate an opening sequence for this film
I was all in with this movie up until the point of the werewolf giving up the middle finger. Stupid
I actually enjoyed this movie.
Sounds like obviously more work was needed in the screenplay.
I thought it was a fun movie. Not good, but fun.
Weinteins ruined a lot of potential good movies
According to Lussier, none of the cuts are particularly good. Craven only did it for money, and nobody really cared about the project apparently.
They should have left this movie alone especially with the practical effects as opposed to the lousy cg.
if Scream Factory couldn’t get the original cut or footage there’s no hope. But 2025 would be a good year to release it. If only they could shoot the unshot scenes now and maybe use deaging on the actors
They have the footage. It’s been circulating for years. Scream reached out to no one and then complained that releasing the footage would be “too hard”. They then said it was impossible because they would have to shoot a new ending. Nobody asked for that, just rip the footage.
They could fill in the gaps with animated sequences.
Judy Greer is pretty much perfect.
Thats looks like it thoroughly sucks. Well, I'm old and cant stand CGI
Wow, no mention of Judy Greer in that opener huh *unsubscribed* 😛
I'm a "fRicci"! 😜
I'll Watch *AnyThing* With ChristinaRicci in It!
Wait, yall hated this movie???
The original cut is....cursed 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I had to say it. Goodbye
Weinstein ruined another movie, imagine that. In 10,000 years once he's served his sentence in hell for his real vile crimes against women he'll continue to burn for his movie sins.
Lord.
This film is absolute wolf shit......
And still it's better than Scream... lol
First.
David Naughton American Werewolf in London great clip hes Dr Pepper guy Skeet Ulrich Scream cool 😎
