This is a real W-30 documented with original build sheet. It is #s matching. Loaded with options including factory a/c. 1970 is the most desirable to Olds collectors because it was the peak year for horsepower.
EXTERIOR: Gorgeous Sherwood green without a vinyl top. The white stripes really set it off. I call these the Lamborghini of muscle cars with the bold stripes, big scoops and a wing. The restoration is about 20 years old so the body has proven itself. It is straight and smooth. The original ram air hood fits real good, it does not have the typical stress cracks. The mirrors are correct for a 1970 Oldsmobile only. The paint is smooth and glossy. The W-30 stripes are correctly painted. The jambs are very clean. Weatherstrips and sill plates are nice. Up front the bumper, headlight bezels, eyebrows on the hood and fenders look new. The glass is real clear and all the stainless moldings are straight and shiny. Door handles look new. In back the bumper has been rechromed, taillights look new. It has a great stance, the wheels are restored beautifully. The BF Goodrich tires look like they have no miles.
INTERIOR: The pearl white is gorgeous against the green. It has new upholstery, headrests, door panels and armrests. The plastic seat trim and chrome was replaced. The headliner is in excellent shape, dome light works. Overall it is very tidy and unabused. Clean kick panels, inside the console, mesh rear shelf etc. It also has an abundance of options: rally pac gauges, tik tok tachometer, speed minder, tilt deluxe wheel, rear window defogger, Am-Fm with an 8-track. In between the seats is a console with the Hurst dual gate shifter. On the floor the carpets look new and it has reproduction Oldsmobile mats. Interior lights all seem to be working including in the glovebox and console. It has all it's original seat belts including the shoulder belts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under that big air induction air cleaner is the #s matching W-30 455-370 horsepower. It has the correct aluminium intake, legendary F heads and original carb. Other features include factory air conditioning which is updated to 134 freon, power steering and power brakes. The booster is cadmium plated. The red inner fenders are unique to the W-30. It has reproduction GM hoses and clamps and spring clamp battery cables. The master cylinder, alternator, washer bottle look new. Everything appears proper and clean.

I bought a new F-85 W-31 in 1970. It was Sherwood green with black stripes and hood scoops. It had bench seat with a 4 speed transmission. I had the dealer order and install a fin. I put walker glass pack mufflers on it and boy did she sound good. She ran great as I bested some of the better known muscle cars of that era. What I wouldn’t give to have her now. Looking at this 442 W-30 in Sherwood green sure brought back memories.

I would so love to purchase this car.... But Jay for an "Olds Guy" it is four four two....Never say four forty two that's what the general non car people call them LOL...

Been welding the new panels in and finally got all the trim that was missing. Took 4 years to locate all the pieces. Rare car hope to finish soon. Thanks for sharing your wonderful car, hope you find the right buyer.

When Jay does 13mins you know it's serious !😂 As a limey, until you pointed out the Oldsmobile was the cheapest car , l would have said the Chevelle was the cheaper alternative . l know which one l prefer ! When you do your intro Jay. You always say "We have hundreds of collectors and the're all for sale " Does that include the Duesenburgs ? I guess everything has it's price !! ( but probably not !) It makes me laugh at how many 442's we see today with the rear deck spoiler, They dominate the auctions but the reality is they're all repros as are the W-27 rear end covers. The original W-27's were mostly ordered on Vista Cruisers whose owners planned to haul boats and trailors and wanted the extra capacity of gear oil and aluminum housing for cooling.
