I purchased a W31 in 1970. Fantastic car. 4 speed. Should not have gotten married, would still have the car. $3,400 those were the days.

Me too. If I wouldn’t have become a musician on the road, I would have still had it today.

I had a new 70 w31 man that 350 was fast. Beat a lot of 396 chevys ran a 440 6 pack one time for $1000 and won. Wish I still had that car.

@@marklincoln9982 My Uncle had a 383 Cuda 4sp. We would routinely race stoplight to stoplight. He would get me on a dig, but by 3rd. I’d start pulling him. That W31 had a wicked top end.

Any one who gave this car a thumbs down was probably neutered at birth

I just purchased a W31 matador red with white interior and white stripes. Documented original mileage and two owners.

Numbers matching block and heads is very important because it effects the value. Also transmission and rear axle.

But the motor is not good is replacement might be the proper tags and rear end tranny but frontend is not factory when they screw the wire screen to the hood then that is a tell tale sign ... In my books it's not worth top dollar...most I'd pay is very low 30.

Oldsmobile W31 cars were awesome. Closest race I ever ran was against an Olds Cutlass W31. I won but not by much.

I had a 71 cutlass 350 4spd 373 position dual exhaust. I bought it from the original owner for $125 in 1991 or ⁹92. . It had 200k on it and both of his daughters as thier first car. I drove it for another 3 years in college. The cam flattend on the 250 mile trip back home, I limped it all the way home, in a moment of weakness I had someone try to swap the 4spd into a 72 holiday coupe that was an automatic. That didn't work so great..not for olds.. Sold the 72 figuring I had fucked it up and the 71 went to the junkyard after I had pulled all the parts off of it. Stupid is as stupid does. The body was pretty beat on that car crumpled fenders holes in the trunk etc etc. Still fucked up tearing it apart.
