    Same owner 25 years! This is a genuine #s matching 442. California built car, original metal. 61,206 miles, marked actual on the title from the woman that owned it all those years. It has all the characteristics of a low mile unabused car. Gorgeous car decked out with the W-30 trim.
    EXTERIOR: Stunning good looks with it's colors, stripes and scoops. It appears to have it's original clean metal. It is straight as a rifle barrel, I did not find any rust or damage. It is smooth all along the bottoms and trunk lip. Under the doors are clean, they shut like a new car. It has a genuine ram air hood with a metal base and fiberglass scoops. The hood fits great and I didn't notice any cracks. Repainted special order Sebring Yellow, it is polished like glass. Painted sport mirrors. The W-30 stripes are painted on accurately. The front of the car is in excellent shape- 442 grills, bumper, bezels etc. The stainless steel trim is shiny and straight. The door handles and emblems look new. In back the rechromed bumper has correct exhaust cut outs, new lenses. The glass is real clear, windows roll up and down effortlessly. The original SS1 wheels are good original that have been freshened up with spray paint. The BFG tires look new.
    INTERIOR: Very nice, unabused interior. The white really pops against the yellow. Really great condition original door panels. The dash area including the heater controls, vents, knobs, instrument bezel look mint. It has the rally pac gauges and tic toc tachometer. The clock is upgraded with a quartz movement. It has an optional sport wheel, am-fm radio and 8-track player. The seats are reupholstered. In between the buckets is a console with Hurst dual gate shifter. The headliner is excellent, dome light works. Very nice overall including the trim, mesh speaker tray, kick panels, glovebox etc.
    ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matching 455-340 hp motor. It's all stock- valve covers, manifolds and on top is a ram air assembly. Other features include factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes. It's tidy and proper. Washer bottle is hooked up, has correct fan shroud, chicken wire under the hood etc. The components and metal are neatly painted. It has red W-30 inner fenders.
    TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All original metal, no splices or patches. Neatly spatter painted. It has a carpet mat and optional Oldsmobile rubber mat. It has an SS1 wheel for a spare with a never used polyglass tire. New seat divider, weatherstrip and decals. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy. Working trunk release and trunk light.
    UNDERSIDE: Very clean original metal. I don't see any rust, repairs or patches. The inner rockers are dry, lower 1/4s have factory pinch welds, floor braces are clean. It has the Rallye suspension which includes swaybars and boxed rear control arms. Looking up at the motor it is proper, has correct starter and flywheel cover. Original Turbo 400 auto trans, the original OG tag is still riveted to the side. It has it's original rear end with a 3.08 cruising gear and a W-27 aluminum cover. Overall the components look proper. It has disc brakes in front, e-brake is hooked up. The dual exhaust is clean. It has cross over pipes and trumpet tips.
    This car got better the closer I looked. It checks all the boxes for me. It's desirable, exceptional, full of options and genuine. It really is a step above most similar cars I see.

    Greetings from Monster Hobbies. I own a 1972 Cutlass "S" and every place you said that Olds get rust are where mine have it! One place you forgot to mention is at the bottom of the front fender...but you sure know your cars and where they rot out!
    Anyway, as a fellow "car" salesman, I am also watching your videos to get some ideas on how to sell my model cars.
    Keep up the good work!

    I'm confused. Back in 1970 I thought that 442 stood for Four Barrel, Four Speed (manual transmission), Dual Exhaust.

    • @deandee8082
      @deandee8082 Před 2 lety +1

      no you're not confused, that IS what 442 stands for, NO 442 was ever an automatic so this is a partscaster of sorts, 4 brrl, 4 spd, 2 dr... must be a cutlass or an auto transplant, don't think you can special order these in an automatic, or the yellow.. it's a 20k car topps.. nice to know used car salesmen haven't changed at all... :-)

    • @totalyep
      @totalyep Před 2 lety

      @Dean Dee no automatics were very common in 442s. And in 71 you can tell it’s real by the VIN.
