I probably have to get a writ of habeas corpus. I did not realize my lawyer withheld exculpatory evidence from me. I plead to a misdemeanor 3 disorderly conduct. I can still legally own a gun. But law enforcement agencies I applied to are not interested in hiring me. My legal trouble took place in Pennsylvania.

So I was arrested for domestic violence a few years ago and my family got a lawyer on my behalf. Never seen or even spoke to the lawyer and was not comfortable with that. I was not knowledgeable of various things. I just knew I didn’t do it so I’m not pleading guilty and I wanted to get out of jail immediately. Me not knowing pleading no contest is the same as pleading guilty screwed me over twice. Stuck with the same girl for ten years and now she lied again. I got a lawyer this time but they are saying because I was convicted the first 2 times that this is bad. I took all the classes and completed probation the first two times. Even got overwhelming evidence proving my innocence. Yet I’m still in this situation where no one believes me and it’s alot worse than the first 2 times. It’s been going on for months and it’s fucking up every aspect of my life. Not sure what to do besides wait.
I feel your pain, brother. I understand your experience as I have experienced myself. Just pray about the situation and provide your lawyer with every detail you can. Do not use PD. Get a good lawyer. Worry about making back that money later. And just try to be as positive as you can, do meditations, and pray about it. My purest thoughts are with you.
@@waynemarshall6957 that might be another issue I have. Everything has always worked out for the most part so I’m usually walking around like everything is going to be ok. Thats why I usually don’t feed into negative things. I’m really just tired of losing my home and kids because of a bitter lover who doesn’t even love herself. I have court tomorrow so I’m just waiting on the lawyer to tell me the good news. He has to work overtime for it being such a delicate situation. But yeah I have lost my job because of the situation so I’m paying him and the bails bond when I can which is not a lot. I’m just hoping they bare with me until I can repay them.
What about pleading down to an infraction?

Helpful video. Are DV-MRT classes something to consider too? What if a lawyer thinks contacting the DA may “alert” them to look at your case whereas more time going by may help them “more willing” to negotiate. Can this vary by areas?
Especially if charges are considered “minor” in the scheme of charges (gross misdemeanor DV assault 4 no injury, etc.)
