My ex filed for a TOR because She said that since she broke up with me that I kept calling her to rekindle the relationship and when she said no, that I threatened to send a video of her assaulting me to the police to affect her from trying to be a police officer.
She has no proof because it’s not true.
According to the arresting officer the DA may not proceed with the case if I fail to obtain counsel. Never got an explanation why but I got a lawyer right away.
What?? If you're in California that is a blatant lie. They definitely don't drop the case because you didn't get counsel. (I did hear recently that in Alaska, they dropped a bunch of cases because they don't have enough public defenders, though.) Good for you for not taking that advice and protecting yourself!
Seeing how men are presumed guilty, yes, yes you need a lawyer.
