I've never thought of using the militia M4 to confuse American soldiers, and it's crazy since when I play as US vs RGU/Militia/INS I'm always consciously listening for AK shots. When I hear a shot that isn't an AK or SKS I usually just dismiss it, so if the enemy started using M4s more I'd definitely fall for that trick. Hope to see this being used more in live matches.
this is a real trock used by the americans in the vietnam war, they used ak to consfuse enemy
Number one. Please do not squad lead first couple of games. Number 2, please donât fly helos first games, number 3, please donât jump into a tank first games. And welcome to squad !
4, please don't single man vehicles
Some simple rules that people still don't follow
For real man, ever since the update, most of the time all I see on the map are random vehicles left scattered all over and people 1 manning tanks.
@@reevvie2608 I just had a game a few days ago where ALL of our logi trucks were in dead center of the map. We couldn't get ammo to any of our fobs and apparently no one knew how to pilot a heli. It was the worst 15 minutes of my life
Number 5: please be aware of the language the server is set for. I've been playing on french servers (really wanted to try EN ones but too lazy to do it) and like a sixth of all the players couldn't communicate...
Remember the gernades aim is the thumb
Or the pinky for underhand
Oh shit i never knew that
yeh didn't know that about grenades.
Been playing since there werenât even vehicles, youâve just blown my mind
Bruh i watched a nutty grenade and was like what? Now i know
I recommend using the M4 with ACOG full time. Over time youâll learn to go close quarters with the ACOG, this will allow you to go from CQB to basically using it as a marksmen rifle. Takes a while to get used to but itâs 100% worth it
That sounded really cocky wow
No, it's a good tip. I hope others can confirm it.
Siege players be like.
@@Raptorsified acog gang
I do the same thing, Marine riflemen use ACOGs/RCOs in the real world for CQB and regular combat
Best rifleman life hack? Drop your bag and spam grenades like a mf. Or hang around the Hat guys that know what theyâre doing to provide support

Wow - played two games with Moi this weekend and "you should do a rifleman tutorial video Moidawg" was said in jest after the [insert blueberry antics] happened more than a few times. That is one fast turn around man! Much needed tutorial this...
Rifleman is probably the most flexible class you can play so it's great for new players. The fact that every rifleman spawns with at least 1 grenade makes hill fights, house clearing, and fob destruction alot easier. I'd say 3 riflemen in a squad is a good number in a squad but sometimes you may want more or less depending on the map, faction, and situation.
I've got over 350 hours of play time on squad and I still rarely play anything other than rifleman. Sometimes I'll grab a LAT or SL but I prefer playing as rifleman. Not enough people pick the rifleman kit and being able to drop ammo for your squad helps everyone stay in the fight.
Yup, absolutely. I'm in the exact same boat.
When I'm not feeling like supa fobing as fireteam lead with fast shovel or SL, I will almost always play rifleman for the same reason.
You should have emphasized the importance of picking up your ammo bag after using it, so many times i have left it somewhere and found when I respawned I no longer had my ammo bag on me.
Especially when the SL wants to reload his rally
But he did.
Iâve played a fair bit of this game and I never thought of using the M4 as Irregular militia for that reason, thats a great idea and Iâll definitely be doing that going forward as Iâm always trying to get a flank on.
Rifleman is so fun because it is low responsibility. You might need to dig or make a run when asked but mostly you are on the front lines. Great for learning the ropes and getting yourself oriented to the game and the meta.
It seems to go from low responsibility to the highest sometimes if you are picked on for certain tasks because of being reliable
so much detail dude thx
I start having kills in squad after watching your guides. I totally suck at it and used to get 0-10-0 most of the time.
Now i can finally enjoy the game.
This is an excellent guide, very well produced. Thank you!
Thanks for all the workâ€ïž

I just started playing, thank you SOOOO much for your videos youâre a life saver
Nice video! Deserve way more subs
Some very nice advice here ty!
Great advice for new players. I still really enjoy the rifleman class. You can have real effect on your squads chances
awesome!
keep the new guides coming, please!
I prefer to have a 200m âbattle zeroâ. The difference is negligible IMO and it means you can hit targets at 200-300m without adjustments. That is personal preference thing but many ARMA 3 players seem to do the same thing and is something frequently done in IRL military. The AK74 has a battle zero of 400m, since you can aim at the waist or the stomach of a target and always expect to hit them.
Sadly Squad's ballistics is too poor to use a 400m battlezero like on real 5.45 AK-74.
Coming from mainly ArmA, I find myself using the C7 with the Elcan whenever I can. I freaking love that rifle and scope, and the ranging feels quite accurate. Maybe it's just me, but I always aim centre mass anyway, unless I'm really close, so don't really find the zeroing a problem in CQC
@@EcchiRevenge 400m is not gonna work, but I have been running with 300m ranging on all AKs for the past 600 hours and it works flawlessly.
@@usokitsuki Then there's the AKM which has incorrect 100m zero.
In IRL I have never zeroed my rifle at 200m, a standard BZO for infantry (at least in the Marine Corps utilizing ACOG's/RCO's) is 100 meters which is done by adjusting at 25 meters then having a 100 meter confirmation. When I need to shoot at 200m, I use the bottom of the horse shoe. 300m is the tip of the dick, and for close quarters or urban environments, the tip of the dick is also utilized for 25m engagements. Squad is using the old chevron reticles we used to have but it's pretty much the same concept.
I bought squad yesterday after having it in wish list for so long. Damn I'm happy that didn't get into a match without watching this guide.
Can I ask you if you got it on pc or did you get a computer.
@@mattmonroe142 what do u mean? Obviously i bought the game on steam
Thank you your the best guide on this class so far
Dude. Awesome guide. Very helpful to an old Squad player coming back to the game after 2 years.
When I did my duty, my service weapon was a G3 (the Norwegian AG-3 variant). It rocks! The 7.62 by 51mm can eat through most defences. You're _not_ safe behind trees from it. And it can take out targets as far as four kilometres out (tho effective range is 30 out to 300 metres).
thank for these videos
Hey man love the videos !!
The problem I have is spotting enemies .
Lol, i just played for 45 minutes without seeing 1 enemy. :D still had fun though
great tips, even little things like free look, M4 to trick Americans, and field bino range-finding are all things I hadn't learned anywhere else yet. Keep it up
Just bought this yesterday and even though I didn't do much it was pretty enjoyable. These guides were very helpful.
fantastic guide
You're really the only reason why I'm even decent at squad. Thank you!
MEDIC Guide Next!!!
Y e s
I love the 1p29 scope it is by far my favorite in the game
Thanks for this. I've finally started playing (bought the game almost a year ago!) and find your guides really useful. Also slowly trying to over come my anxiety of using voice chat đŹ
How much was it?
I just started the game so thanks for the tips!
Iâve played squad since release and this is super helpful. Iâve learned shit that I never knew before.
Rifleman makes IDEAL security and ammo mule for your LAT and HAT. GREAT for armor hunting.
I love the G3A3. It is a 7.62 German gun originally made in the 1950s. The reason I prefer it is because it is great to use as a DMR.
A massive thank you for this tutorial, i hope you continue â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
good guide bro
SUSAT gang rise up! To add, the 'Sight Unit Small Arms, Trilux' is actually not too bad (IRL). The ones I've been issued have all been accurate, and the FOV is perfectly fine - something that the game doesn't simulate properly. One thing I do appreciate is in the game the SUSAT's aiming post doesn't glow in dark areas. By the mid-2000s the tritium illuminators had faded in pretty much every example.
Just what I needed, thank you!
I would disagree about the ranging markers. I would prefer the C79 an ZF1 optics over the ACOG and 1P-78 thanks to the ability to adjust range. I prefer to zero the optic for the range that I am shooting at and usually leave it at 200m, since this will be enough for most engagements but it is easier to use than BDC lines on the ACOG or 1P-78. That is personal preference though.
the AK-74m with 1P78 rifleman kit is so easy to control in full auto IMO, perfect for midrange and CQC
Okay I'm definitely downloading this game right now
I donât squad lead much but I make sure to have a atleast two riflemen placing the rifleman with the LAT/HAT or GL and the other rifleman resupply the rest of the squad.
8:30 thats why one aims at the center of mass
I prefer to keep my magnified optics zeroed to 200m in games whenever possible because 9/10 times I'm using a caliber with a fairly flat trajectory, and the difference in poi between 100 and 200 is basically negligible. You should be able to aim center of mass on any target within 300m or so and get hits with a 200m zero
I personly started as Medic, but i guess rifleman is better to start with.
Good video
An important tutorial indeed
I mostly play Medic in games, because im trash at fighting. But I do love the Rifleman class. I can get whatever optic or even rifle I want, and I can get sent to do stuff like logi runs, instead of just following the squad everywhere.
I always play rifleman but I don't do logi runs ever, I get told to build, man machine guns or mortars as long as I'm sticking with the sl or most of the squad
I always go with red dot because you can use the binoculars very effectively
Love the scopes period, be able to 1 tap someone 200m away without them realizing is a fun time
Every new player in squad should watch
some MOI dawg videos
Amen to that
I'm watching this while waiting for the game to download haha
Ironically I think I use the red dot on US Forces much more ACOG or iron sights. I took a multi-day training course with a clan and we only used the red dot, so I got so used to 200m+ aiming with the red dot that I can usually do it to some effectiveness in live games, though of course it's way easier with the ACOG. I personally prefer red dot over iron sights because of the cleaner sight picture and better target acquisition, whilst I prefer it over the ACOG because I don't find the need for the extra magnification when I have binos and the scope takes away too much of my peripheral vision than I'm comfortable with.
One reason to like the SUSAT is that it is 4x zoom just like the ACOG. So when you can't take the ACOG due to squad restrictions, you still have 4x option available.
I find myself far more likely to play the 2nd medic when on the British team, instead of hoping some other sucker do it XD.
I always choose the magnified optic but theres 2 scopes I absolutely hate, the one where its a big ass post coming from the bottom and the one where its a big ass post coming from the top
Hi, I watched this video just for the part with FOV and I wanna adress something. As You are official Squad partner I'd appreciate if You pass it to developers. So, for me and a lot of other people lower FOV like 90 is really good for aiming and using binoculars and scopes. The thing is me and also some people can't handle it for a long period of time especially when You constantly moving around and turning. Holding Alt don't help becouse screen is still so zoomed in what makes some people feel unwell or even nausea. My idea is to add option like in Battlefield games. When you hold right click to ADS your FOV goes back to 90, so you can feel comfortable with higher fovs moving around but still be able to shoot and spot targets easly.
That sounds like a pretty good idea, a separate FOV for aiming down sights
Just want to say that I'll pass this along because the last thing I want is for someone to feel sick when playing Squad. No promises, but I see it!
Ya sucks that range finders donât work if you have higher fov aswell
@@MoiDawg We really Thank You! I also want to mention that fov in Squad is resolution based, so with 16:9 aspect ratio 90 in Squad = 74 Hdeg 4:3 (Battlefield games) = 58 vertical (Escape From Tarkov), so thats surely on the lower side.
I quite like how it is to be honest, if you want accuracy and the long range shooting ability then you have to compromise a bit.
First 100 hours for new players to learn the game is to play with rifleman class.
Hey, I enjoyed your stream yesterday! (Mattphs)
Thanks for hanging, glad you liked it!
when running the susat increasing your zero allows you to aim lower on on standing targets. i found that to be effective however prone targets can be a pain
9:11 remember switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading. {captain price voice}
Came here to see if Squad is worth it for me, and learned how to properly range with binoculars!
Point, spot, shoot, and ruck ammo. Your job has never been easier.
more like hear gunshots, point, die for me haha
you really want Full auto G3 at close quarters, believe
I never thought about the grenades costing 10 ammo each. Grenade spam gameplay sounds fun
Iâve got over 1000hours In squad and pretty much only play rifleman nowadays. That ammo bag is the most useful thing in the game.
I canât lie I rarely drop my ammo bag for others as I like having the extra mags for suppressing and flanking a bunch, also helps when the FOB has been taken down and there is no other way to rearm.
Non scoped M4 is the must underrated load out.
If you have a magnifying glass taped to your monitor*
What about the best settings for aiming?
Susats are normally restricted to training and non combat roles now wear as infantry all use lds now and thatâs good but my opinion is both are good and accurate when collimated correctly
Can you do a combat engineer guide
Awesome vid moi! Any possible love for Medic mains? And possibly new medic mains with a guide for that? (Also don't pick medic to just heal yourself please unlike someone lul)
I wish they had gone with the EXPS3 instead of the XPS3. Getting the reticle above the front sight makes a difference.
Can you do a medic guide?
I run rifleman alot, i never get asked to build or drive logiruns :D That is the only time a marksman can be usefull, so why not make him do it?
Are you able to change the color of the radical in the red dot and acog? I'm new to the game and my eyes can't use them at all.
GL FOR LIFE!
Could make a marksman guide ? I find myself loving to go do recon in squad but often end struggling to succeed in my task
They have the ranges to practice on. Is that what you mean?
Are the bullets fired from the barrel or the sights?
Iâve played a thousand hours, if there in no HAT/LAT, Iâll go Rifleman.
Wassup moidawg can you do a marksman guide?
I'm starting as a rifleman for sure, lol.
I just picked this up and am looking forward to playing tonight. Quick question from the noob; do you unlock more attachments for weapons/vehicles etc as you rank up or is everything unlocked from the beginning? can you customize the look of your soldier at all?
Everything is preset and you cannot customize your looks
I prefer this as it comes down to player skill
@@AnubisGamez Same it also makes every kit feel useful to the team rather than the individual player
Itâs preset load outs and all characters are pretty much the same for each team as the others have said, youâve probably played and gathered it by now but CZcams videos are your best bet for getting a hang of the game before you play.
@@txylor7288 yea really liking it so far.
You should play with Shruod đđœ
thank you for all the videos you're doing a very good job.
i'm a f*****g huge battlefield fan since the first one ( 1942 ).
since battlefield 2 ( the best fps ever made ) , battlefield 3 and battlefield 4 are dead , i'm looking for an alternative that is not as bad as Arma , and very close to battlefield for when battlefield 5 will die.
so my question is , is there/will there be conquest mode in SQUAD ?
Yes there are you have to move from objective to objective though. That means that the first one you have to cap is the one near your base then you move to the next then the next you canât just skip and objective
If your a battlefield fan like I am trust me youâll love squad
I think youâd like squad. It does also have Territory control mode and invasion which I find are often quite fast paced and a bit more like battlefield. Itâs an awesome game and I came from playing battlefield and Arma, Battlefield 4 was definitely my favourite one. If thatâs your sort of thing I think youâll adapt quite well (emphasis on adapt as it is not as simple and is very tactical)
@@txylor7288 thanks. ill try to get the money to buy it ( no free trial sucks big balls )... took me months to buy BF5 lol.
br4inl3ss_tv itâs worth it, atleast on steam you have two weeks and 2 hours to get a full refund
Do a sniper class review pls
I feel useless as a rifleman. There is always another kit available. Unless you're stuck with a irons RPK-74M, that thing is garbage when compared to the versatility of an ammo bag.
I agree and disagree. Are RPK-74M with our insights is pretty damn effective for a suppressive fire in general. I took out whole squads and we were fighting Canada on a mountainous map.
@@seventythreedavid it's the 45rnd mag I have an issue with. Having a bipod is awesome, but you can't suppress as effectively as a M249 or RPK with a 70rnd drum.
@@omarrp14 absolutely it's a hindrance so I stick to 2-3 round bursts and only full auto when suppressing. The one thing it's great for us firing and maneuvering pretty quickly. Good mobility on that class at least.
@@omarrp14 just fire 2 mags lol
Full auto is like having a dog,you donât need it until you do,can be unpredictable, but makes you more confident and other people scared. Also donât just go for headshots unless you have no choice
I love how you can be right beside a enemy and cap him without him even noticing, and i could be in a ghili suit in a bush and stick my big toe out for a split second, and ill get clapped from 400m by a guy shooting full auto with 150 trees between us..
Quick question related to the weapons rather than the gameplay, why do the characters turn their weapon to the side before ejecting the magazine? I've never seen or heard of this (8:10 is where it happens)
i think they're checking if the camber is empty
How do you know how much ammo is left in your bag?
Can someone tell me how to fix missing and broken ground textures cause its really ruining my gameplay experience? You could just see rocks and plants and grass floating 2 inches off the ground :(
whos new must Watch this
I think the best by far is the m4 and A1.The fastest killing time from all the rifles and has the acog. Iâd put the canadian rifle too but I donât really like their sights.
The G3 has the best kill time although I agree the M4 has a nice feel to it, my biggest problem with the G3 is the sound, it doesnât sound like it has as much recoil as it does and therefore i struggle to anticipate so much when spraying. Slowly getting the hang of it and itâs a very good rifle. The ACOG on the M4 is very nice and simple to use however for me I canât not love the Canadian sight, I like the simple line and to be honest Iâve never realised it is out of whack a little as Iâm always aiming for centre of mass to land as many as poss, probably why they drop so quick lol.
BillyBallsack if all bodies die with 2 rounds to the torso then m4 has fastest time to kill because it shoots faster than the g3 no matter how much damage it does as long as it doesnât kill in one shot.
Can you up the fore grip and acog sight on the m4 or is it only iron sight and without acog ? Can you customize your rifle ?
American SL's have the ACOG foregrip with full auto capabilities. Absolutely love running it.
MoiDawg ah ok so you canât add any attachments to guns. I didnât know that
@@HotSizzleTV_ yeah you're stuck with the attachments the kit loadout gives you
I would use the tap fire a lot more if it actually worked. I play on a laptop which doesnât run the game like at all even with intel i7 and low graphics so when I click to fire it doesnât always actually shoot so I use full auto to make sure some bullets come out of my gun.
Have you updated your content after the recent release of the Australia faction? (04/30/22)
As a new Squad player I find I am finding it incredibly difficult to identify soldiers' uniforms ... many patterns are so close to my own side I have many times not fired when it is an enemy I'm looking at, and they shoot me. I suppose it takes time to discern. That and the maps and where the hell we're supposed to be going to and whether to wait, defend or whatnot ... it's very good but so hard to know what the heck to do. Because I have not been so good at killing enemy soldiers due to my inability to discern their uniforms (from range) I opt for a medic and run about healing people for points. I like healing people and makes me useful to the team.
One of the irritating aspects of a supposed team play game is when people refuse to stop and pick you up in a vehicle. I have had people drive off immediately from the initial deployment phase, leaving me and others sometimes to have to make our way on foot or on a road when an allied vehicle just sails past and doesn't stop. Boy that's annoying. All in all though, I am learning slowly what's what and I do really enjoy it a great deal ... maybe even I'll join a clan sometime but for now, I am a greenhorn combat medic learning the ropes. Fun times all in all đ
