    Bought this last week. As an infantry veteran with multiple Iraq deployments, I’ll tell you that for those without combat experience this is the closest thing I’ve ever played. I remember getting anxiety and having to take frequent breaks when BF4 came out, although it’s arcade-ish it had a similar feel that’s hard to explain. I cannot stop playing this game. My in game skills are pretty weak but feel like I have enough tactical experience that I’ve been able to provide somn to the squads I’ve been in. Send me a reply if you’re interested in teaming up!

    One tip I'd add for LAT and HAT players, conserve your ammo.
    A Hip or a Blackhawk is a juicy target, but not an immediate threat to infantry.
    A BMP, Bradley or Warrior is a juicy target that can annihilate your team, it's better to arrive at a tankfight with enough ammo to either track it or mobility kill it rather than to take out a heli that poses no immediate threats to your infantry.

    • @Gorlami14
      @Gorlami14  Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah great tip! No sense is trying the hail marry shot on a chopper if ammo isn't readily available. The only time I'll encourage a shot on a chopper is if the player has the US AT4, which one shots choppers, or if the chopper is close and completely static. Definitely better to save your shots for enemy armor in 95% of scenarios.

    Here’s a tip for someone with 300+ hrs. Trust the sights, the recoil may seem very high, but as long as you drag down your mouse equally to the recoil, you’ll hit your mark. Even if the sight isn’t in the picture

  • @ramflow8466
    @ramflow8466 Před 2 lety +3

    Good tips! I have 200+ hours and liked the tip about smoke usage. Lots of folks use it incorrectly.
    For me personally, I don’t aim for headshots unless I know I can hit it. Otherwise, center mass is what I go for since it’s a bigger target to aim at. They taught us this in the Marines and I never really got away from it. Irl you’d puncture a lung, hit the chest, even snap a hip.
    Most guns are 2 body shots to get down an enemy in Squad or 1 body 2 arm shots. The G3 is a 2 shot down regardless of location in game. (Don’t quote me 100% lol)

    @georgysb Před 2 lety +3

    One more tip: When you catch enemy squad passing you by or flanking it, choose the order of engagement wisely: basically start shooting them from those ones who are in a blind zone of others. For example start from those who runs behind everybody else and nobody gonna see his death and your traces. This will give you precious moment before you start taking return fire.
    And another one tip: Helicopters shouldn't make supply runs to frontline FOBs in vicinity of active objectives. Instead of that they should saturate with resources currently safe FOBs where they can hover or land without risk of being down. Also a good style is when one of squads with logie truck places well positioned (FOB radius includes plain field for helies landing and reaches a road) resource FOB (sole radio) in the beginning of a match on their way to objective. So squads can make much shorter supply runs with their logie trucks to that FOBs instead all the way back to Main. Thus helies will stay alive and doing their job, logie trucks will be used instead of being abandoned and the team itself will have enough resources to win the match against less organized enemy.

    1:40 this is so disgustingly true. The amount of people I see lay down trying to get down a hillside/mountain is ridiculous... Any lateral movement makes you 90% less likely to get shot unless you're running up on someone within a couple hundred meters

    These Tips are great. Thank God I already played HLL. Knowing when not to Bandage is something you can only learn by playing. • @TheGreatDane-ui7mc
    @TheGreatDane-ui7mc Před 3 lety +7

    3:22 that's something that drives me insane, too. Even if the downed player is hassling you to get them up, you need to clear first. Otherwise, you are just compromising both your tickets by not making it safe for revive.
    And how people play medics is so irritating. Yes, medics have a gun, and, some factions' medics also have a grenade. But you're the quickest healer of your squad. Leave the bulk of the shooting and clearing to the actual riflemen.

    If you arch a grenade throw high enough, then you get an airburst effect. Its extremely useful when the enemy is close but there is a lot of microterrain like rocks, walls, or dips in the ground that will tank the damage. Pair that knowledge with a riflemans bag and it gets fun. Without an optic you get 2 grenades that you can throw in rapid sucession. Tons of mag reloads or 12 grenades, 11 with optic, is why rifleman is my favorite class.
    Im 3800+ hours in and still hooked on the game.

      Don't need aim in squad, just a bigger brain than the enemy. I average between 10-20 kills a game, best advice I can give is stop being scared. Stand up, tell your squad to push or flank with you, and go get some kills. Too many times I see whole squads just sitting in 1 area taking pot shots and not moving at all. This is a great way to get nothing done and die.

    200hrs and Im still pretty garbage, but the best way to improve your game and your squads game is to be the guy who asks questions and makes suggestions. When you get those squads where nothing is being said, ask if it would be a good idea to get a hab down, or if they think a compound is safe, or anything, and keep asking questions. If a squad leader is quiet, it doesn't matter how good he is at the game, no one knows what he wants and if it goes bad odds are good you'll blame each-other. But if everyone's asking questions, or knows what they're working towards and you get wiped you get wiped together not because of [XXX].
    Playing SL should just be planning and communicating with other SLs. Keeping the squad together is the role of a good foot logi (rifleman). if you run 3 blocks to rearm a LAT then ask him for cover so you can rearm the medic after he gets someone up, all with sly peer pressure. Once half of you are in one spot the others will almost always fold in onto you, even without asking. But if you say your willing to wait 30 seconds for them to catch up once, for the rest of the game they'll try and stay together. Dont let the SL heard cats, do it yourself with psychology.

      Thank you! If you are having trouble all getting into one squad I recommend you split off into twos. I know you guys probably don't want to split up, but then you guys will have a greater chance of having experienced players in your squad that you can learn from. Don't be afraid to ask questions during down time in game. Also you can all join an empty server on the testing range and get some practice with different weapons and mechanics together that you can bring with you into the game.

    As someone that started almost a week ago
    -Sometimes i cant understand Sls because either they are talking gibberish/too fast
    -I can pinpoint enemy engagements at a longer range, but can never pinpoint enemies firing at me.
    -Literally a feeling that i get when i spot an enemy that they are a friendly (My game is too dark for some reason so all i see is a shadow sometimes)
    -People screaming in my ear (Not at me but jesus some people like their mics so much they literally breathe down on it)

      _it happens, try to go yourself to SL and it's a hard thing to do, just try to tell him you don't understand
      _the trick to know where you are getting shot from is after the crack of the bullet over you, you'll here the weapon sound, it sounds something like PSH!..bam, use your freelook key and your compass to track the sound
      _pump up your brightness
      _you can always lower the local voice chat sound

    When I try this I get dinged after the first trigger press lol

    I think a lot of people at least a lot of people I know that play Squad lay down for one reason and one reason only. We expect Squad to be a military sim and to us that means realism and those of us who actually were prior military especially those of us that were in combat zones frequent enough we were all told to lay down making ourselves a small target to hit. It also allows us to be harder seen by other enemies at range. But in Squad this doesn't work against more veteran players 9 times out of ten because they know 1. We are not dead. 2. We are now still and easier to be hit as a still target. And 3. Tracking is a whole lot easier in a video game than in a real world situation where you should never dial down on one individual target for long periods of time because there is always the fear of the unknown and the surrounding that could have other enemies looking at you while you are focused on one specific small arms idiot doing nothing.

    • @Gorlami14
      @Gorlami14  Před 2 lety

      As much as everything you said being true, people lay down immediately in Squad because they panic and have no idea where shots are coming in from, so they think getting low in the answer. In many situations it is the right call, but many inexperienced players don't recognize where they are and what sight-lines enemies may have on them so they lay down still in plain sight and are finished off easily.

    • @viscountav
      @viscountav Před 2 lety

      Another thing to consider is what you're seeing. But not line of sight. Real world's graphics. A player might think they're blending in, or are hidden in the shadows, but the person shooting at them dialed their graphics all the way down to nothing just to get an advantage in these situations.

      @Gorlami14  Před 3 lety

      I have a lot of my stuff on high or epic. Seeing playing in this game is really tough when first starting out regardless of settings. I always recommend what I was taught in the military, which is to scan for targets from right to left, or whatever the opposite way you read. This will help you catch more things that don't belong like enemy players.

      As long as you listen to your Squad Leader and don't mic spam you shouldn't have any issues. Yes, some people will point it out, but some of the people I play with on a weekly basis are 10-15 years old and they're great to have in the squad. If someone makes fun of you don't let it get you down. There's plenty of squad players that would be more than happy to have you in their squad.
