Everybody whining about the show only being 2 seasons need to realize 2 things.
1. It's better for a show to be passionately thought out with a planned story than just continuing for the sake of it
2. The creators have stated multiple times that they are already exploring different stories within the universe.
We need to be thankful we are getting an animated universe here that very rarely happens
Yep. As much as I really enjoy this storyline and these characters, the LOL world has plenty of interesting characters in it, so I am excited to see what they do next

As disappointed as I am we're only getting 2 seasons with these characters, I respect them for not dragging it out longer than they need to.
Agree, people need to accept that all good things end. Weekend ends, summer holidays end, childhood ends and great shows end too.
I would rather see it end in a peak form in a blaze of glory than to witness its corpse being dragged on for commercial benefits.
People wanted more Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and look what we’ve got.
While I would love more stories in this world, in my experience the stories with a closed preplanned narrative arc tend to be the more complete and satisfying ones so I'm glad they are deciding to tell a closed story where even the main characters could realistically die and plot threads closed rather than trying for some comic book style 'keep it going for ever' thing 👍
I don't respect it. There are certain protections/benefits shows get depending on their union when getting into a season 2 and beyond. And depending on if Netflix classified this as a "season 2" or a "part 2" they may be screwing the cast and crew (mostly crew, of course) out of additional pay just like they did with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I knew people who worked on it and Netflix is notorious for doing this. At this point, until they earn any good will back, I'll assume malicious intent.
@@1xeshm Game of Thrones is another example of dragging on too long/making it all up as you go. As much as I do think it'd be horrible to end this story here, I do respect the closure at a peak in the story, especially since the context clues overall would have the story "continue" into the game anyways. I can see them making a third season for new characters, or a completely new series and title for that same reason, but end this story how it was PLANNED to be ended.

The scene where a drawing of Jinx is being used as a symbol for rebellion and independence, when her actions lost her people’s chance for independence, is so layered.

They never would’ve had independence though. Jayce was willing to give them independence in wxchange for Jinx, but Silxo was going to refuse to turn in Jinx. In other words, it was never going to happen.

Did she? I believe Jayce's independence would have been very similar to the African French colonies independence (Don't ask where their gold is stored tho). A ruling in the council would not have solved a century long struggle. I think Jinx was not overall a damage to Zaun, if anything she probably prepared the ground for actual change, for a true independence of Zaun. (not that she ever cared about it, not defending her in the slightest)

It is nice to actually get an ending to a tv show for once instead of everything being cancelled before the conclusion of the story.
That pisses me off every time, when a show actually starts getting good, then gets cancelled before the next season

I bet that if Cait and Vi had kissed in the first season, we wouldn't even be getting a second one.
I don't know why but it seems that whenever there are sapphic protagonists, it's as if suddenly the show "isn't worth it" and it gets cancelled.
It was like that with many shows and it's a trend that seemingly won't go away.
For some reason even showing straight sex is fine, but the moment two women kiss and/or end up romantically involved it suddenly becomes "not fine" and people run to cancel it.
@@t00sa Warrior Nun was a show that was doing well number-wise, but just because it ended up making it obvious that two women(one of them the protagonist) were developing a romantic relationship, Netflix(or whoever was behind the decision) cancelled the show when they were finishing the second season or when they already had finished it(I don't remember it well since it was some time ago).
Moral of story, a series that was doing fine was suddenly cancelled just because two women being together seemed to annoy some people on Netflix(or shareholders of Netflix).

Edit: the producer/director confirmed in an IGN interview that this won't be the last story we see from the LoL universe, they will just revolve around other characters so that great news !
Two seasons is the PERFECT length if that's the amount of time it takes to tell this story. Stories don't need to keep going just to keep going.
Plus, the League of Legends world is enormous. This might be the last we see of Vi, Jinx, and the rest, but they want to keep Arcane going with other parts of the world.
@@pyrosianheir yeah actually I watched an interview with the producer after this and he said that they were intending on telling other stories with other characters within the LoL universe so that's totally fine if that's the case as long as they retain the quality.
Even though there's only 2 seasons, it's comforting to know that there are still shows being made with artistry and passion, not for the sake of money
They're going to continue in the same universe but in general you're right. We just need to hope that they don't make the same mistakes Marvel eventually made.
But you can look forward to a completely new story made by the same people set in this world.

Jinx barely appeared in this trailer, but I could feel her presence in every single frame.
REAL, they're really holding back with showing her and I felt like a crack head looking for her throughout the trailer. Every destruction scene I was like WhEre iS sHE!!.

actually I never write YT comments, but man I've never been really excited to see something in while now, but Arcane is just different - especially the first season gave me some kind of feeling I've never really experienced before watching anything else. Not only because I used to play the game, which you don't even have to know too, but the world they came up with, the character studies they built and the fact that no one was left behind really makes it special to me - it is so rich in detail, the music and dialogue (also the voice actors) is amazing + the animators are going freaking crazy in this show damn - it instantly reminds me of the part where ekko and jinx fight on the bridge (with denzel curry rapping over) - giving me chills when ekko just could't hurt his 'friend' while seeing her bleeding on the ground - love to you guys for making all this happen and not coming up with some real life action garbage no one was looking forward too - I loved every part of season one, especially the desicion of characters you put in the show - all respect to you finding the perfect tune and style everyone is so hyped about today - even for no League players - thanks to all creators for trusting some ideas which Christian Linke and Alex Yee had in mind and making all this possible over these years! love

I watched the German version and there Ambessa says: "Half of the council is dead". I hope soooo much that Mel is part of the still-alive-half but she isn't a champion... also the German translation goes on like: "We will avenge your mother." I don't know why they changed it but that means that Cassandra for sure will die.

Animation style, story, character development, soundtrack... The first season was absolute perfection. Never expected it to be that good. Can't wait for season 2 and other spin-off shows in the same universe from this studio.

That's so interesting. To me the words "any agent still loyal to Silko" actually sound very flexible, so not very targeted.
I hope/expect the new season will explore how different sides in a war paint their targets, as if they're clear targets, and use them as a justification for ever escalating atrocities

My prediction is that Ambessa inherits her daughter's house, allowing her to call the Noxian armed forces into Piltover to invade Zaun. Mel is very likely either dead or dying.

We know Viktor and Jayce are alive and we saw something on Mel glowing before the cannon hit. We also know that League said they'd add new champions from the show if I remember straight and Mel got WAY to much time, the most time outside of the mcs, to not become a champion there's no way. I don't think it is the end....just the end of the arc for the sisters. Probably will do a story about another character next.
I think (and hope) they want to move on and explore the rest of the lore since there are a bunch of regions with really cool stories.

Love how we're all already begging for a third season, and this one ain't even out yet. The hype is real. But hey, if they manage to end this story satisfyingly, then I'm confident in the creators' decision to keep this series tight.
Most likely this will just be the end to the zaun/piltover stuff for a while as they focus on other regions for later seasons

@@xander.defaltone of the co-creators confirmed they're working on new projects in TV and film for other parts of the world, Arcane is just the title of the Piltover/Zaun story and they were always planning on going somewhere else for season 3.

Gravity falls proved you only needed 2 seasons and 4 years to make a spectacular, well written and iconic show that will leave its mark for decades. And it looks like Arcane is about to prove that it can be done again.

This show really knows what it's doing. No extraneous new concepts being introduced. No retreading. It looks like we're taking exactly what was set up in S1 and watching all of it naturally escalate. What a strong story.

I'M NOT READY TO SAY GOODBYE.
There's a lot of comments about Mel's mom is talking to her daughter about "the council is dead". But according to the fact that Jayce and victor are still really important for the show and yet not totally "broken", I'm pretty sure that Mel's mom is talking to Jayce. Because, in the season 1 she was talking to jayce like he was in control of piltover like in this trailer where she's saying "your council". That would explain her implication in the civil war (out of revenge) and Jayce is probably the only chancellor alive now...
It could also just be a mels mom telling mel that "the council is dead" as in dont try to do politics now, we tried it worked, the council is not something we belive in anymore or they left after the explosion to their own rode
Another theory, these are two different lines pieced together. They do this all the time in trailers/teasers and it kind of sounds like that. Obviously they made it a clean cut but if you listen closely, it just does’nt sound entirely natural together. After listening to it a few times I’m almost 100% sure this is the case

In the german teaser, ambessa says at 0:05 that "half" of the council is dead. this for me solidifies that mel, jayce and viktor definitely survived the attack.

Both Viktor and Jayce are playable characters, they're safe. Viktor will have some... changes tho. Not sure about Mel.
they're Champions in the game, so I'd be surprised if they died. There are a few characters who are in the game, and I feel like they have bulletproof plot armor because of it.
Hopefully this is just the final chapter with vi and jinx and not the final season of arcane. There's so much more of the world of runeterra they could cover.
I love how a game I hate so much caused the creation of a series I absolutely love.

1:09 that looks like the Hexgates that Caitlyn is shooting through. So first obviously Jayce does weapons hextech, and that opens the possibility that she is warping the bullet. Literally teleporting the bullet to where her enemy is. That is next level.
That's just her hextech rifle. The effect is probably representation of an equivalent to her ultimate in the game.

I've noticed a distinct lack of Warwick. That's the most interesting part of this trailer.
Also, I didn't expect arcane to have more than two seasons. Big budget animated shows with lengthy production times don't tend to last long on Netflix. I'm just glad that it's ending before Netflix has a chance to cancel it. But I still hope for more stories in this universe.
It's a teaser. When they release official trailer, We may see more of Warwick. And I hope so.
There's more lack of Jayce and Viktor than there is lack of Warwick in this trailer.
I belive netflix only bought the streaming rights and the entire production budget came from Riot Games, which means netflix isn't in any position to cancel the project.
Now whether producing big budget tv projects as promotional material for their moba is profitable in the long term I don't know,
but if it is, its in their best interest to focus on quality over quantity.

@@MYttocs They said before that just because a character is a champ doesnt mean he cant die. Most likely they will all survive somehow though. I cant imagine them killing a character will be a good choice. Afterall, this would hurt that champs playerbase most likely, as weird as it sounds

The only thing that bugs me is that since they made it cannon to the runeterra universe then isn't it guaranteed that Vi, Jayce, Viktor(kinda), Ambessa, singed, warwick, ekko, jinx and heimerdonger will survive? I wonder how they will end it since in the lore the piltover-zaun situation hasn't concluded for obvious reasons.

I'm not convinced that *everyone* in the Council is dead, but they did an incredible job of editing around the characters who were in that room at the end of Season 1. Also - how the EFF has the animation somehow gotten BETTER?!
I have a feeling it could also be a metaphorical death - like the dismantling of the Council as an institution, which led to the gap between Zaun and Piltover in the first place.
even if someone survive that person would have take a lot of damage, not a surprise if they stay recovering for the first half of the season

Netflix doesn't have a choice. Netflix isn't making Arcane. They are just a distributor. Riot games is producing the show in house and just gives it to Netflix to reach the largest streaming audience possible.
