Tough guarding Jordan. He's like the greatest midrange shooter of all time. If you underreact, he gets an easy bucket over your head. If you overreact, and he fakes you out, you just end up looking silly. He has so many counter moves to keep you guessing.

    • @jackastor5265
      @jackastor5265 Před 2 lety +18

Yea I was going to say the same. The current era has this thing where they've just decided, don't jump, stay on your feet. I've even seen reactors ask why anyone would jump when MJ was dunking, because its unstoppable so why even try but the era demanded they try. That was how defense was played, you tried to stop the play. If you don't jump with Jordan he will bang one in over your head, ring it up, but if you jump he will go underneath and drive or just draw the foul.
      Pick your poison.

  • @LetsBuildThatApp

The reason people don't stay on their feet is because Jordan was so automatic from midrange. It didn't matter if you stayed down, he'll shoot over you or just blow by for a dunk. This man was quick, athletic, and had an elite jumper. Most important of all, Jordan rarely had off nights. He would have bad quarters from time to time but in the fourth there was no stopping him from willing his team back into the W column.

Michael Jordan, has the highest win shares ever, which is an analytical stat that tracks how much a player contributes to a win...
With the fact that he contributes the most of any player to a win should tell you something... If it doesn't, Michael Jordan played a total of 1,212 total players in the NBA. Of that 1,212 players, 310 never beat Jordan and the Bulls or Wizards in a game.. Not a series, a game.. Regular season or playoffs.
Now, add another 235 players only beat him and his team once.. 173 only beat him and his team twice... And another 110 only beat him and his team 3 times.
So, if you want to know what sheer dominance looks like.. Of 1,212 total players, 828 (right around 2 out of 3) players never beat him and his team 3 times while contributing the most to that win of any player ever... With the worst being Sherman Douglas who was 0-39. Michael Jordan was the definition of dominance. From 1990-1998 he put the league in a choke and the only way it loosened was him leaving the game for a year and 3/4.
Last fun fact.. There have been 3 players lead the league in scoring and win a championship in the same year.. They are.. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1971.. Shaq in 2000... And Michael Jordan in 1991,1992,1993,1996,1997, and 1998.

In 15 seasons, MJ shot over 50% from the field for the entire season, six times.
Here’s how many times the following fellow shooting guards ended the season having shot over 50% from the field:
    Kobe - 0
    Allen Iverson - 0
    Dwayne Wade - 3
    James Harden - 0
    Clyde Drexler - 2
Jordan has more 50% from the field seasons than all these guys combined. Do you know how hard it is to shoot 50% from the field as a shooting guard & volume shooter. MJ’s career avg is 49.7% from the field. James Harden for instance, his avg is 44%. That’s a whopping 5% point difference.

He said "With Jordan it just said 'Good Luck." there was no stopping him, he had perfected his craft and had a counter to anything you wanted to try and do. U can only imagine what his numbers had looked like if he had finished in those games. A lot of times it was tony kukoc with backups finishing off blowouts while Jordan watched. Jordan definitely could’ve played in and dominated in any era. Especially now with no hand checking and any tough foul now a days is a flagrant. Back then u could bring blood with an elbow to the face and it was just a common foul

“Stay on your feet” yes, it is a rule that may work with most players, but you have to understand that with MJ you’ were screwed whether you jumped or stayed on the ground. If you jumped he would fake the shot, fade away or simply jump higher than the defenders and make the shot. If you didn’t, then well still make the shot or assist .

It's awesome to see a LeBron fan give Michael his flowers like I said previously I don't compare Michael and LeBron because they're so unique they dominated in two completely different ways it's just that they're both generational talents and Hall of Fame once-in-a-lifetime great so naturally people compare them but like I said for me personally Jordan was the ultimate killer of killers LeBron is more of a Silent Assassin

Everyone had to bite on those moves because he was money from everywhere, regardless of angle to basket, distance from basket, who was guarding him, and could easily finish with his off hand! Plus they all had seen him follow through with those exact moves and score countless times instead of faking them!!

  • @DoctorT144

Jordan would do that double fake to Pippen SO OFTEN. He'd fake the pass, then everyone would go after Pippen, then after they realized he still had the ball, he'd FOR REAL pass to Pippen who would be completely open by that point. The mind games between these two made it almost impossible to keep up with the ball at times. The cameramen would fall for it like that on the regular!

Bro when you're reacting how he's playing with people in the middle of the game lol, he was ruthless, check out the MJ vs Isiah Thomas feud or what he did to Mugsy Bogues, he destroyed NBA players' confidence. And when you said you didn't expect to hear that about his interview, I think a lot of people today hear about MJ and don't understand him, you should watch some of his interviews

When MJ gripped the ball he was so strong there would be dimples on the ball at all 5 fingertips. That’s why players like Leonard even though his hands are the same size, Klaw can’t grip the ball quite like MJ. Mjs grip stress superior

Jordan used to be so cunning and shifty that he would repeatedly WAIT for double teams to come to use the help AS HIS SCREENER. There arent many highlights of it online though. To this day I have never seen anyone do that so coordinatedly. Oh and when he was toying with dude, that was Bret Price. Mark Price's little brother. Mark was a really good point guard in the day. And that Hawk Jordan faked and was still trying to reach Jordan from the floor, was Cliff Levingston. Who would later on join the Bulls and Jordan got him a few rings.

Have you ever thought to yourself, why has lbj made it a personal mission to be better than MJ? Why don't he stop "chasing that ghost"? Look up the team that Jordan absolutely dominated. Every game, every year, no matter what team he was playing for? Just my opinion, at least.

I like your channel. We will have to agree to disagree on the G.O.A.T. What I will say about that is do you know who Wilt Chamberlain is? That guy played in the 1960's and 1970's he owns the record books look up all time leaders in scoring average, scoring, rebounding, blocks even though they keep track of blocks for part of his career. And this fool scored 100 points in an NBA game. (The 3 point line did not exist back then). To me Wilt was the best of the old era and Jordan is the best of the modern era.

You know what's messed up? Like, it seems like the media has it set so if you like Michael you HAVE to hate LeBron, and it honestly kinda makes you hate the guy, or even hate Mike sometimes if you get lost in it. I had to correct myself on that. I got mad comments trash talking LeBron, then I was like: That's not fair and I'm part of the problem. I started watching his game, respecting what he does, watching his highlights, rewatching his best and worst games. Man, I came to realize LeBron is an *amazing basketball player*. And I don't have to hate him to say Michael is the Goat. Like... how is that bad? I don't get why LeBron fans get on me about it. It's like: Second to the greatest of all TIME *STILL* makes you a God. LeBron and Mike are Gods among men. Like, for real, mythical, legendary people that *actually* exist. That in and of itself is amazing.
