I was in the 10th grade in 2001. The Finals Sixers were not less talented..
      That same year,
Dikembe Mutombo: Defensive player of the year. ALL-Defensive 1st Team
Aaron Mckie: 6th man of the year
Larry Brown: Coach of the Year
They also had great role players in Eric Snow and Tyrone Hill who was a defensive machine.
And to top it off AI was season MVP and All NBA 1st Team. So I would respectfully disagree my friend... That 2001 Sixers team was extremely talented.
But yes you were absolutely right, they did lose to a Lakers Team that absolutely dominated and would have swept the entire playoffs had it not been for Sixers winning game 1. And fyi, There was no Black Mamba at the time. Just Young Kobe. He did not become Black Mamba until 2 or 3 years later.

Ai was my favorite basketball player of all time and if it wasn't for his problems personally to me I feel like he could have been one of the all-time greats in the league if not the greatest of all time. To me he did things that made more people look so silly than any other player in NBA history more so than even MJ himself nobody had better handles than this kid and unfortunately his personal life was out of control. On top of this he did this game that had no talent but himself and was dedicated to this team compared to the new stars of The League that just hop around teams with no loyalty case in point LeBron James who had to go to other teams to get his championships and recruit people to a team where he couldn't even make the playoffs in the Lakers he couldn't win in the cavaliers so he had to go to the heat.

However, he did not bring Tatts to the league. Dennis Rodman already made it popular amongst players. I'll give you that AI increased Tatts popularity even more though. He made a whole generation of kids want to be him, so he was definitely a game changer. AI will forever be a favorite of mine.

Fun fact...AI was one of the top QB recruits in the nation as well. Got in a fight at a bowling alley and got suspended. No college wanted him (I believe the fight was pretty brutal). His mom literally begged legendary Georgetown basketball coach John Thompson to let him play. Rest is history...#1 OVR pick. Philly literally gave him zero offensive help (he played with great defenders). His job was to score...point blank. Give that man some weapons and he woulda been nasty...Teams only had to game plan to shut him down and he still torched em.

There is an interview with Iverson talking about that cross over on Jordan. Iverson said something along the lines "Jordan almost went down, yes STILL was able to recover and almost block that shot. Thats why is is the GOAT." Iverson is one of the best players of all time. One of the top scorers of all time, one of the best defenders of all time, hell he was well short of 6 feet tall and outrebounded players who tower over him. Sadly, his attitude would prevent him from being a good teammate and winning championships.

Which is what made it that much more impactful. He revolutionized the NBA in a lot of ways.
