I’m a Celtics fan and loved Larry so watching him compete against Magic and the Lakers is why us oldies still think the 80s/90s was the golden era of basketball. The Lakers were a depleted team at that point, Kareem retired 2 years before, Magic was still putting up 40 in that series, but thats a bad sign. If Magic is putting up 40 every game, then theres something wrong with the Lakers. So you cant really judge the two of them just off that series. Magic never played a full season again. If they were so great what's the reason none of them teams never ever Won a single championship. They had plenty of opportunities. Jordan retired or the bulls didn't make it to the final. They still never won. Malone played together 20 years with the same coach and same system never won a championship. Karl Malone great player. Never came through in the clutch. Missed tons of free throws to cost them that series and ultimately a championship. Seattle was not a great team either. Why do you talk about Shawn Kemp like he was this great skilled player. His best attribute is dunking. Highlights got u confused buddy. The suns wasn't a great team either. Barkley played 16 or 17 years. Made it to the finals ONCE. The Jazz made it to the Finals 2 consecutive years which by most accounts is damn near an impossibility. I think Lebron has you jaded. His team stacking has got you believing that a superstar should make it to the Finals every season but... that’s actually a false notion. In MJ’s day teams stuck together and saw getting to the Finals as a journey. Although Barkley didn’t win a title there were many more star players that never got close to making it too a Finals.
This is the problem old heads have with Lebron. How you get the titles matters as much as how many you get. Load management and team stacking weren’t considered viable options in MJ’s day. The league was a lot more physical in that era as compared to today’s game and yet Lebron has only played 1 complete season in over 16 seasons.

God, I miss those days!🥲 Magic was just that: Magic. When the Lakers got their fast break going, fans would get excited to see what Magic would do with the ball. Of course, those of us watching at home could see better, and would get just as pumped as those watching at the arena!

Maaaaan!!!!! You are absolutely hilarious, and I am an "old hat" who was watching Magic in the 80's, and he is still my #1 point guard of all times. He did this type of thing in college and high school. He is the only player who won 3 national titles (High school, College, and NBA) in a four-year period. And, he was the NBA finals MVP as a Rookie, and he played all three positions in the final game without their star Center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Absolutely phenomenal!!!! Magic

4:20 "42 points at center?" It used to be that most teams always wanted a star center as opposed to other positions, in the 84 draft the Blazers and Rockets passed on Jordan because they needed a center, the Rockets probably didn't mind cause they got Hakeem and he led the Rockets to 2 championships while Jordan was playing baseball, but I'm sure the Blazers kicked themselves in the ass for years, especially In 92 when they lost to Jordan in the finals lol

    • @cyber6sapien

That's why Jordan is considered the GOAT. It doesn't make sense that someone was that offensively dominant with that physical stature.
And especially not someone playing in the late 80's early 90's era where the league was dominated by big men. Jordan broke the mold in terms
of how championships were won. The only other back court player to win a championship without a talented big was Steph Curry. And Steph needed
Durant to eventually join him in order to build a dynasty.

MJ, Bird, Magic, Isiah, Hakeem, Kareem, Shaq, Mullen, Stockton, Chambers, Kemp, Dumars, Kevin Johnson, Mchale, etc, etc. That was the real Golden Era of basketball.
