Kobe shot 47% from the field that season. MJ before getting hurt was matching these guys at age 38. Mental.

LeBron came to a 17 win team and had them at 35-47 the next season. Lakers also had a 35-47 record then when LeBron joined, he improved it to 37-45 (though he only played 55/82 games). Jordan took a 19 win team, and had them well on their way to the 1st seed.
Jordan came to the Bulls in 84, in 83 they won 26 games, in 84 they won 38 games. They didn't win over 40 games until 1987 when Scottie joined the team and they went from 30 wins in 86 to 50 wins in 87. Better put some respect on Scotties name

When LeBron came back the first time from Miami he joined a young Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Kyrie is a stud, and Love is a great 3rd piece. He also benefited playing in the east, where they would never have to play any of the top 3 or 4 teams until the finals (where obviously ended up playing the warriors every time). I deem Lebron's finals trips impressive, but if he was in the west, how many of those would have occurred? Maybe half?
Kwame was drafted cause it was suppose to be a trade on draft night for elton brand from Chicago, the owner veto'd the trade and they were stuck with Kwame

The story with the wizards goes a little deeper than what this guy gets into. They basically promised him in ownership stake if he would play a couple years. I don’t think he’s ever been a good GM because he looks at players that he could play with, not players that can play in today’s game. Whatever he saw in Kwame Brown were tools that he knew he would be able to win with as a player, not a GM.

But anyone who watched him during these years know, as impressive as he was playing at his old age, he was no longer the same player. That’s why his time with the Wizards was underrated... because fans can’t accept the reality that we were witnessing MJ decline. He was still amazing, but he was a sub-par version of himself and it was obvious. Each time he played as a Wizards we all kept subconsciously thinking: prime MJ can do that blindfolded, but old MJ is actually struggling a bit 🤦🏽♂️

LeBron came to a 17 win team and had them at 35-47 the next season.
Lakers also had a 35-47 record then when LeBron joined, he improved it to 37-45 (though he only played 55/82 games).
Jordan took a 19 win team, and had them well on their way to the 1st seed.
Jordan came to the Bulls in 84, in 83 they won 26 games, in 84 they won 38 games. They didn't win over 40 games until 1987 when Scottie joined the team and they went from 30 wins in 86 to 50 wins in 87.

If you compare Jordan to any other all star he was having an amazing season, if you compare him to himself he was having a really bad year. That's the problem. When he came back everyone was expecting to see the Jordan they knew and he was 3 years out of the league and almost 40, so comparatively he wasn't where you wanted to see him.

So here's the thing about that 6 point game Michael was a competitor still is its a mindset. With this in mind with that game that hit Michael differently made him second guess himself. This man is and always will be a different kind of player. Never have i ever seen someone push so hard on offense and defense. He is the reason why when I played I left everything I had on the court both offensively and defensively. If you only play one side of the game you'll never be great is how I took watching him play with the Bulls growing up and to see him keep that mindset with the Wizards is just insanity 💯
