Bro He didn't even have to shoot 3's he was so good at getting and 1's and getting to the line, that and before you knew it he had 30 or 40 points just grinding. Can you imagine the mental warfare he unleashed on his opponents could you imagine being on the other team, thinking there is nothing we can do to stop this man. You just thought whenever the game was on the line and the Bulls had another possession that MJ was gonna make sure he got it done. He knew what time it was, everyone on the court knew what time it was, and the fans all over the world knew what time it was, and no one was gonna stop it.That's a basketball God!

I'm a Knicks fan I despised MJ, and when it came game time I always had hope the knicks would finally stop him, but as the game went on I would feel the toll he was taking on my team, and in time I'd feel the toll as well, he was ripping my heart out right along with anyone who opposed him. Straight savage! After he would beat us time and time again in the playoffs, I would just find myself rooting for the man I despised just because of the greatness that I was witnessing, I had no choice but to be in awe of his ability to just take the heart out of a team and a crowd. LeBron doesn't have that ability, when the games on the line I don't feel the threat that MJ would impose, no doubt LeBron is a beast, but he doesn't put fear in my heart when he's playing my team and the ball is in his hands, because I know he's gonna usually find another player on the team, or take a difficult shot and sometimes it goes in or sometimes he walks off the court disappointed, MJ, always came out with his head high after a nba final, but MJ, it felt like it was %95 gonna be over, and like you knew what the future was gonna be, me leaving with my head hanging!

Growing up in Chicago in the 90s, I had the fortune of seeing Jordan play live in person three times, along with watching nearly every game of the rest of his career live on local tv. He genuinely had no hole in his game. Top scorer, top defender, incredible handles, fantastic passer (on the few occasions when he bothered to give the ball to anyone else) and a refuse to lose mentality. He was revered and feared by the entire league. Nobody has come close to that since, which really sucks because, man, it was a sight to see. He was the biggest celebrity on the planet. It was truly unreal.

And on a season by season, especially the first half of his career. Those numbers were crazy. One year he avg 8 rebounds and 8 assists. While putting up over 30ppg. He also avg 3.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in a season before. Insane!

Most amazing thing about Jordan- In any game he ever played, you could just watch for 2 minutes, and realize he was THAT dude, and he could be 0 for 4 from the floor in those 2 minutes.
His presence was as special as he could play.

  • @A4V6Limo
    @A4V6Limo Před 2 lety +8

First of all, i am from germany, so i could never watch the bulls play live at the court. But me and my brother stayed up at night to watch the bulls play on tv. I still watch some NBA games so i think i can compare back in the days to now. Its worth watching interviews of Michael himself and interviews of other players talking about Michael. It says it all if other players where that terrified of him not to piss him of to make sure he doesnt go nuclear. His games were always good, he went on the floor to give the fans the best possible experience every game. Didnt matter if he was hurt or anything. He went on the floor and the fans knew there is a party coming. Another good video of him is his Hall of Fame speech.
What really makes him special was his mindset, determination and competitive nature. You could see that in every game and in the way he evolved from the beginning of his career to the end of his career. He came into the NBA as ok shooter midrange shooter, good defender but first of all finisher at the rim. His drive to the rim made him realize he needed to work on his body because he got beat up really good and he wasnt build right for that kind of punishment. So he trained and changed that. Some people said his midrange shooting wasnt good enough so he worked on that. Everytime he got challenged in a way he changed his gameplay, trained to get better and better. He always evolved, made sure to prove anybody wrong. You never knew from season to season what he added to his gameplay. He could read the games on court and act on that. He was the kind of guy that won games on his own if he got the feeling his team isnt up for a win. It was always a pleasure watch him play, see him getting better and better. Its a fact that Michael Jordan made the NBA world famous. Kobe had the same mindset like Michael. I will never ever say LeBron isnt a great player but compared to Michael its just another level. Some guys called him black jesus or god, think of that. If an enemy player has that kind of power over you to admit or call him stuff like that. Michael was the player you could put anywhere on court and he would be a massive problem for the opposit team. His influence on the NBA was huge. Thinking of him playing in the NBA now would be insane. Way less physical so he would have so much more space to play his game.
In the NBA now i like watching Steph Curry, seeing him evolve is huge fun. His ability to shoot from anywhere he wants is mindblowing, his handles are getting better and better. The big downside to Steph is his defense i think.
I dont hate on any body playing in the NBA, but Michael is and always will be a special player

Jordan had a 48 inch vert. Highest ever. His mid range was gold. He could dunk from anywhere. He would lock you down, block you, and run you down. He would hit the threes when he needed them. Young bruh, I saw MJ in action back at UNC, when he hit the game winner as a freshman in the championship game vs Georgetown. I'm from Chicago so, other than the year he broke his foot as well as the years he did baseball I saw a good amount of his games played and he's the LEGIT BEST! He rarely missed any games due to injury or rest. And to think, this was only one year of his illustrious career 😳. And yes, he had the WHOLE PACKAGE, even passing the ball. Bron and Kobe got ample talent, but MJ was SUPREME!
Kareem was kinda unstoppable too, especially with that sky hook with his height. For MJ also, he knew how to FINISH you when the games counted i.e. in the pinnacle series, the NBA Finals. Never played a finals series past 6 games🤔. And to think, him and the BullS kept several superstars chasing rings😉

Michael pun lebron would be just be another player in the 80's and 90's,they would have beat him up,plus he would have been going against the Jordans, pippens, and the great defensive teams off that area,he's fortunate to playing in today's game.

Watch actual games and you'll see why no one is/was ever like him. He was so great because he wasn't afraid to fail. He lost before he won back-to-back dunk titles, lost the 3 point competition even though he was confident in his shooting. I believe that if he was still playing he would have entered the skills challenge just to challenge himself(he was the top scorer and assist leader for shooting guards in the 91 finals so he could do whatever was needed to win) I would have liked to see LeBron enter at least one dunk contest especially after he threw his name in during one all-star weekend before eventually changing his mind to protect his brand I guess.

seriously this, im 24 so i was never able to see him play so i was subjected to watching just highlights. but during lockdown i watched full games from 90-93 and my god, the way he could just take over games offensively and defensively is mind blowing. and he did it within the system not just playing iso ball jacking shots up.

His midrange was automatic because in high school and college 3 pointers weren’t in the game yet. The three point line wasn’t added to college ball until 1986 after he was drafted. He didn’t need to develop a 3 point shot until he made it to the league.

The league didn't adopt the 3-pointer until 1979--Magic Johnson and Larry Bird's rookie season. While certain college basketball conferences experimented with it in the early '80s, the NCAA didn't universally implement a 3-point line until 1986, with high school basketball following suit a year later.

@@edwardocariter99 It's not even close. Bronnie is flopomatic, softy, that CAN ONLY play help defense. Wait he has run down and blocked like 7 fast break layups. He really needs to be fined a game check every time he shows up with the number 23 on is jersey. Truthfully a better comparison would be Pipen. Pipen was an all around SF. Problem is Pipen had WAY better defense and handles.... and killer mind set... and it didn't take him 15 years to develop 3 point range.... and Pipen has 6 rangs.

As others have pointed out, his midrange game was unmatched. He probably had the best midrange game in the history of the league. He could take guys off the dribble, he could set and shoot jump shots, he could post up and nail fade away jumpers like it was nothing, he could pass out of double and triple teams.... All of that along with the fact he was the best finisher in the league = impossible to guard. MJ literally made a career of making every defender in the league, including hall of famers like Rodman, look bad on defense. There is a reason for the whole "you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him" saying... And then, if that's not enough, he was one of the best defensive players in the game (and one of the best defensive shooting guards in league history) and he ALWAYS played hard on both ends of the court. GOAT.
