Cody D It appears to me the reason behind that is that this isn’t an entertainment channel, it’s purely for knowledge, unbiased reviews and facts. Most people don’t want the facts, they want the entertainment and the shiny bottles with exaggerated claims.

Brian, what I liked for the demonstration was the use of contrast from black to white. For aesthetics, gloss, pop, etc. Black is awesome for depth and shine, white is a necessity in demoing these types of coatings, sealants, waxes, etc., as getting a white or silver car , even yellow to really pop doesn't happen for some products, so demoing the light colors and contrasting them to the dark sure helps in the evaluation. Thank you Brian.
P.S. I'm really enjoying g the use of the colored water, brilliant idea. Yestetday I was just at the local detail shop getting a hand wash in this ice cold weather, I recommended your channel to 3 guys including the owner. It's a small operation, he wants to get into ceramic coatings, I told him to watch you videos, particularly the QP-ON , and send you an email. A couple of weeks ago we had a 50 degree day. Was able to get a wash in using Revive, then Mega Shined the whole Truck in and out, the shop owner wad impresses with beading and the shine. He asked how did I find out abou that stuff...Brian at Apex Detail.

Ive always loved Meguiars products and Mothers Aluminium polish.I was.going to buy the Megs Ceramic Wax spray but after seeing this Im going to try the Mothers.Thanks again for all the great video tests.

Can we get an "Apex Detail Ceramic products tier list"? Every company has so many ceramic this and ceramic that sprays / coatings that my brain is about to blow up lol. Maybe like A to F for "performance" then A to F for value. (A is thumbs up good, F is bad dont buy this etc)

I keep watching this damn video. Once spring comes after polishing my car I will be using this unless a better product comes out, but right now Mothers CMX is the winner in my book.
I agree...and other than som smaller companies taking a crack it Sio2...Mastersons is the only other product I have That has not been show cased.
Yeah, although hardly ever talked about, it would be nice to see the Mastersons Ceramic Spray in a demonstration review and how it performs. Their video came out way before the whole hype of the "Si02 sprays" really got popular.

That was a pretty compelling illustration. No doubt, these spray-on-buff-off type of coatings will come closer and closer to traditional ceramic coatings by years end.

I truly love this product and I’m amazed by it only negative thing I can say is it leaves these little white specs on the towel and paint job I don’t know if it’s crystallised ceramic or whatever but there like micro specs of white dots !!

what if I skip the polishing stage before applying this coating? Am I gonna run into problems?
When I go to re apply my car in 6 months what do you recommend? A wash, clay bar, and 50/50 water alcohol whipe down then apply?
good video. but everyone in there review keeps glossing over any prep they due prior to using this product. is it a simply spray on wipe off like the bottle says or do I need to wipe down my car with a wax remover or some kind of cleaner prior to using it? or can I simply walk up and use it?

Bead Maker sucks in longevity but will produce a better gloss than everything else.

I got a sandy surface after application. Smooth as glass prior, after paint correction and polish. I did something wrong, now I have to figure out how to correct it.

Would you advise waxing prior to using the ceramic coating? I use collinites 845 usually.
I'd love to see this in comparison to DPC Armor. Both products tested against that acidic wheel cleaner and both products being polished.

This is to be applied to a naked surface only.
The product looks good.
My question is can I just wash vehicle and apply with out having to go through a lot of prepping?
Though prepping is always best you can get away without doing so if your paint is smooth and happy with the shine.
If your paint isn't smooth then it's best to prep to get best results.

Yes...or down grade them to eng comp. Just wash immediately.

Brian I live on a farm in South Africa, I applied CMX the same way you have applied it. How long does it need to cure before I can drive my vehicle? I'm aware of the cure times...

Now put the same type of food dye, so that you know you have not missed a bit of any panel when application is down, also mainly for white or light colored car paint surfaces. :)

Looks more durable than Meguiars. Brian, from your perspective, how is the gloss enhancement on the white colored panel? My BMW E46 is Alpine White and might want to try this out.

Mothers has been stagnant and lagging behind for a while. This product seems decent. Those beads on fresh application were very tight!

Brian, I too like the idea of TwinkanPD and build up list of performers. Perhaps compare them by application method? Spray-On and Rinse-Off compared to Spray-On and Wipe-Off applications?

If I use carguys plastic restorer, should I use that first and then this sealant? Or the sealant then the plastic protectant?
So use in this order....pre coat, compound, polish, pre coat, ceramic coat ...am I right? Wont the pre coat wipe away all the paint correction from the polish and compound?

Do you think its possible that panel wipe could be adding some of its own hydrophobic properties to an extent? I have noticed an increase in slickness when using a few different brands of panel wipe and have always wondered this.

About megs... you said that there is no SiO2 in Safety Data Sheet
, but SiO2 is not hazardous so it won't be included as separate ingredient there. It is included there: Non-Hazardous Ingredients

Greg M if you are doing it as a weekend warrior, it really depends on how much correction and perfection of the paint you want. You can lay a coating down on pretty beat up paint if you wanted to (not recommended of course, for a number of reasons). Sonax Perfect Finish is a really great polish, and definitely can be used as a 1 step with the right pad combination and skill. If you want to just enhance the finish and do a light removal of swirls and defects then it’d be fine. But from someone who does detail for a living, I would advise only doing a coating if you are prepared to do it, on the other hand if its just something like this CMX spray coating, or your choice, then the margin of error is minimized greatly
Yes as a weekend warrior on a basically new car that is garaged. Paint is in like new condition.
Greg M yea man it just all depends on what level you are trying to get the car to. Sonax can definitely get the job done if the car isn’t in horrible condition. Just take your time, it’s not as intimidating as it looks or sounds. :D
What pad would you recommend for the type of work? Black or blue polishing pad ?
Greg M from which company? Colors are different from all. But I personally love and would recommend the Griots Garage Boss YELLOW Perfecting pad. It works wonderfully. Similar to the Rupes Yellow.

Both of the above are from Mother's CMX product page. First, they said it could be used over a wax, then say in the second that the surface should be free of waxes.....

What type of cutting and polishing pad do you recommend?
Cutting pad = Lake Country Lambs Wool pads.
Polishing = Buff and Shine open cell foam.
