    A LITTLE EXTRA BLOG (have a read) 🔽
    So this was one of the first ever car cleaning products I purchased along with the bodywork shampoo when I first became a car cleaner all those years ago. And I chose this because it gave me the confidence to explore car cleaning and it showed me that I could transform a car with very little effort.
    I found it had the potential to make more money from up sells and I could use it on car wheels and door jams too. Its definitely a favourite amongst the classic car community and many of my customers love the instant results that it provides for the those weekend drives in the summer.
    Ok so the durability isn't the greatest in the world but its all about compromises and what I discovered quickly was the massive market for offering polish as an upsell and not part of a package. Remember this: If cars stayed clean all the time we would be out of business!!!
    I will show you how to use autoglym super resin polish and recommend the best conditions for polishing your car by hand. Many people ask me how often should they use it because they worry about removing the paint. And to be honest even though there is abrasives its not got enough to strip away your paint. So 3-4 times a year would be maximum use. You are better off protecting it on top with a wax and before you say "can't i just ceramic coat it afterwards" well the answer is no because its far better to carry out a proper clay bar decontamination & 2 stage machine polish as Autoglym has fillers which just mask the defect (Not remove them)
    So this is ideal for anyone who runs a mobile car wash or static unit and if you want to know more about what goes into the day in the life of a car cleaner then make sure you subscribe as we have a mini documentary coming soon.

    Interesting video mate. I’ve been using super resin for the past 20+ years, having entered numerous cars in shows. What’s interesting is that super resin is very versatile. For example, I’ve removed light scratches permanently (you mention it’s only temporary, but with the right tool it can be permanent as the product can be manipulated) The technique for this is to actually use something a bit better than an applicator pad, as you cannot ‘work’ the product properly. I tend to use very soft flannel cloths. I can even use a little water that can basically grade the scratch out. To be honest, I’m probably the last of a dying breed of detailers. I don’t use machines, everything is done by hand, but every car is always finished, knowing that I haven’t eaten into the laquer. 100% autoglym super resin is my go to in my tool kit 😀👌🏾

      Dying breed! Reminds me that when I left school I went into classic car restoration and that was all hand finishing and preping so you could (feel) the panel. After painting it was 1500 wet and dry and elbow grease no polishing machine that way no risk of (going through the edges) Try getting a school leaver now to not use any form of polisher,da sander

    Completely agree, I ride classic bikes which have large areas of polished alloy, I used to use only metal polish on the alloy (Solvol Autosol) This was fine, but it quickly oxidized and dulled down. One day I had a brainwave and decided to use the same Autoglym Super Resin polish that I already used on the paintwork, but on the alloy too, immediately after using the metal polish.. This was a revelation !.. I was amazed at the amount of black metal polish residue it removed and it left a much longer lasting shine than just using the metal polish did. I use it on pretty much everything on my classic bikes now, including the frame, chrome wheels and exhausts.. Autoglym Super Resin polish really is fantastic stuff and it's the only polish I've used for many years now

    Nice, this obviously works for you. The dusting and the longevity were deal breakers for me, even when I used EGP on top, and used it sparing these 2 things were an issue. I find what works better for me, and solves all the issues from SRP, is Megs Wash Plus+, as an abrasive shampoo then a decent wax to top it off. For me its way easier to control on hot days, and this gives a lasting shine, even after the wax has popped its clogs :)

  • @jublywubly
    @jublywubly Před 3 měsíci

    I've been using Auto Glaze for years. I think it's called Glare Professional Polish, now. It's not actually a regular polish. It has tiny beads of glass in it, so it needs to be buffed at just the right point of drying, or it will scratch the paint, so it has to be applied in small areas at a time.-Put it on, wait a bit for it to nearly dry, buff it, then do the next area.
    It dries hard and ultra-shiney like glass. If you've seen those highly reflective, wet-look, paint jobs on high end cars, that's the finish Glare gives.
    Bird droppings and tree sap don't stick to it. Usually I just need a tissue or maybe a bit of water too, and anything on the paint just falls off.
    I will be buying some Autoglym Super Resin Polish to put on as a top coat, though. Just for that added protection. I mostly use Autoglym's products. All their products I've tried work exactly as they say they well (despite my initial scepticism).

    I have used AutoGlym SRP for a long time, easy to use with minimum effort and it gives long lasting results.. I also use it on PVC window frames about once a year and it keeps them white and the shiny surface shrugs off bird and spider poo, as well as stains from leaves etc... Too much snobbery about care care, apparently if you do not spend half your life using clay bars and various waxes you are not keeping your car clean...and are a hopeless case. I also use SRP about once a month on plastic headlight covers which helps with UV damage and keeps the bugs splats from sticking. I would argue that the shine from SRP is pretty permanent as I only clean our cars about once a year and they always look shiny - and every time it rains it brings back the shine. Good for alloy wheels as well.

    I drive a semi, deliver petro, use Turtle Wax Ceramic coat once a year, a regular wax once a month on the tractor, and a spray detail/wax daily while waiting to load or unloading. Would this be good for my monthly wax, or will I get build up?

  • @denys_carcare
    @denys_carcare Před rokem +2

    Im starting my own valet/detailing service next year and i'm going to incorperate this into my formula's , for a "little" extra , they can choose this option in combination with a ceramic spray or paste wax to make it last as long as possible. Its fast & easy to apply and gives amazing results.
    Customer is going to be happy with the result but ofc informing him/her that this is not going to be a permanent option. but i think for the price difference in machinal polishing and applying this product, some people are gonna tend more to the SRP and to pay that "little" extra instead of the higher budget of machinal polishing... (i think).. :)

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  Před rokem +1

      Exactly. Always give the customer what they want. If the car looks too good for too long they won't call you back. So in theory srp is a real money maker

    I think durability is a difficult one, a few products like the new turtle wax ceramic paste wax are very durable in terms of detergent resistance but don't last that long in real world conditions. SRP's protection is not that resistant to chemicals but in my experience it lasts well against the elements, still beads after a few months on a car that's kept outside. Bodywork shampoo conditioner is designed to not strip it, so they make a good combination.

    Im a 'pro detailer' as the Muricans call them in the UK
    I can't use SRP.
    Im allergic to the stuff.
    If it gets on my skin, even if I wash it off straight away. I get a big red sore patch where it was.
    Just using it and a hole appears in my glove. Skin cracks and sore hands.
    If I accidentally touch the autoglym'd panel in t-shirt weather. Sore patch.
    It also gets on my chest and makes breathing difficult.
