Finally someone showing that it can be done without any machines. Great video.
Thank you 🙏
It can be mate but a lot of grease elbow and time consuming.
I love it !
Yeah great video that helps inspire confidence in beginners without blowing the budget. You Sir need to do a video on how to clean the glass outside and inside! Thanks and Cheers
@@ImranTTi hello I already have made one my friend. it's on here 🙏
Your a bloody good honest lad, everything I wanted to no you pointed it out in this film.
Thank you. Production quality wasn't it's best on this one. My new Poundland video is the one 👌
Appreciate your taking the time to do this manually. It helps to know it can be done and the end result will look very nice overall.
Awesome video! Would have loved to see a timelapse of the whole car being done and before/after pics side by side would be so satisfying. This video has given me the confidence to try it for myself. Wish me luck! 🤞
Another video my friend 🙏 I'm here for the long run so I'll make better content
Practically idea and good attitude. Saves time and money. Has good results too. Love it.
Thank Luis appreciate it 👋🙏
Great informational video!! Other videos didn’t explain the polish part as good as you. I wasn’t aware you have to remove the polish very quick..
Thank you very much. yes with this one you do not all polish but definitely this one
Straight to the point! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skills.
Thank you
You are the best mate. No hyperbole, just facts through experience. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
Brilliant, so so simple. Been detailing cars for 20 years now and never even thought of it. Gona do your method everytime now, (unless of course the glass is too bad and requires a chemical) great stuff,, loving ya channel mate, keep it up mate.😎
Thanks mate it definitely works feel non valeters may need few attempts as it's so important to buff before it dries but definitely Stand by this method
Black cars look so good when done right. I used this product with my machine to get rid of a few Mark's after a prang with a hex logic pad. Ended up doing it by hand afterwards and it looked better. Great content as per and keep it up Dave.
Thanks Jonny, glad it can help. That's all I want to do l,just help people because most forums are full of d*cks
FINALLY! A video that answered all my questions! Thank you very much, sir!
Glad to help! thank you
Great video Dave. Just getting into cleaning my car and watched lots of videos with this stuff and some make it sound and look like rocket science but this video just give me the confidence to go and buy and have ago so cheers mate
Exactly thank you. People litterally over complicate things so the route I want to go down now is by simplifying the process
Great video David, you're an honest guy!!! I normally polish by hand...never used a machine polisher before. It's a more engaging and 'intimate' process when polishing by hand.
Machine just gives you a headache. I'm happy to use my hand ✋
By hand also preserves the paint. It is labor intensive if done correctly. Machine polishing should be done a few years apart. Otherwise, if you regularly use high speed polishing, you'll thin out the paint. Recently, I noticed this trend of "paint correction". Unnecessary unless you have neglected car.
Great video to boost the confidence of a beginner who has no access to a machine. Thanks.
Lots of useful tips.
I'm summoning up courage to tackle de-scruffy-fying my Defender (I think 'detailing' would be optimistic, but I'd like it to look less scruffy!) One beginner's question -- how often do you change the cloths you use for removing the product? And how do you know it's time to change?
Another straight to the point video... Excellent advice 👍
Thank you Kenneth and thanks for commenting. I don't really make anything from these but it's nice to see people engage with it so thank you
Enjoyed the videos. I have a 2010 Honda with some pretty serious sun damage. Excited to give it a shot with Meguiars so I appreciate you breaking it down.
As a DIT detailer this encourages me to try this as appose to the machine approach that I am not comfortable using with all the pads you need to know and understand how they work. This just might be the thing for me starting out just need to put the time in and thats not an issue well worth it if I can get the same results as you did. Thanks for this. Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Nice one, there's no shame in doing it this way to get started. I know big name detailers myself included who have made mistakes when starting out. You can still get good results from a hand compound 👌
Excellent video and thank you for the warning that the Ultimate Polish literally dries in 15-20 seconds or so in the shade! I did find that applying slightly more UP helped to dissolve any dried UP and wipe away. I wish they could extend UP a bit to make it easier to work with by hand.
Well explained, just keep the videos coming your doing a great job 👍
Thanks Shaun appreciate the positive feedback 👏
Now this was a great step by step honest tutorial! Thx a lot and you are doing a great job!
thank you
Love your channel mate unlike many channels out there you cut out the bullshit and make normal people realise this is not a black art .💙💙👍👍
Glad someone agrees. Not everyone shares the same opinion but I think people are getting way to crazy with detailing
One of the easiest compunds/polishes to use by hand. Works superbly. Makes a clear coat finish shine like glass and vastly improves a worn out single stage finish.
Totally. Very simple indeed
This is awesome. Most people these days forget that paint correction is actually restoration work. For "detailing" this is all you need! Awesome job man!
That came out excellent, I appreciate the informative video..you are a great detailer . Thanks
Thank you mate 🙂
I watched you for the first time. Love it, compounded my car by hand with meguians ultimate and ultimate polish, perfect finish thank you. I live in the states, and I've watched lots of videos regarding car detailing and loved your honesty. Thank you!!
Thanks so much my friend 🙏 genuinely greatful
Hi If u are applying a nhe wax in aug do u Need to strip ol d wax off with a wax stripper before applying new. Hád a wax appplied by a Detail man this month and wanted to put new coat on around aug or sep.
Tryed to do by hand but could not gét off. With mequiasrs swirls
Can u give me some steps to go by
Love that you did it by hand and explained all the pitfalls so we could avoid them. Good Job!
thank you
Thank you, about your very detail and easy instructions. I have follow your channel just a little away and being very pleased all your content. They where very helpful on my own car situation here at Finland.
Thanks my friend. I have a how to playlist with similar videos 🙏
Wonderful. Just what I’ve been looking for to see it done by hand. Reminds me of the chauffeurs from years ago looking after there cars. I’ve always said polishing a car by hand is the best way to get,to know your car.
nicely demo'd Dave, perfect for those without a machine and want to look after their daily driver. i did my Outback by hand a few months back, using Ult. Compound/Polish and HCD in the sun, it took a few hours, turned out well 😎 Handy Kent MF pads with velcro handle also very good to use and less hand cramp, plus some CG hand applicators.
Thank you it's really never a problem doing it by hand and it shows what can be achieved without a machine
And thanks for watching 🙏
Awesome video!
I hand polish and added a sealant to my 1996 Peugeot 106 1.1L.
It was very hard on the arm, especially because I had to prior wash it (initiating by the rims), hand wash, and clay the entire car prior to the polish and sealant.
But it was really worth it.
The car is old, not worth much, but it is my daily driver.
Thus, it was not worth spending the money for a professional polish, or even to buy a polish machine to be used once a year.
So, I take matter into my own hands.
As it was an old car, in a white colour, the benefits were noticeable!
Especially because the swirls are not that visible in the white colour, and also I think because there were a lot of contamination in that paint that were removed by claying and polishing.
It put a smile on my face, and even my girlfriend was amazed with the end result - but not a fan of the receipt for all the products I have used.
Now, I am thinking on doing the same to my 2011 Renault Megane Grandtour 1.5 dCi.
It is not a very valuable car, but it is my girlfriend's daily driver, and the family car - to go to weeding, family dinners, and so on.
I hand it over to a professional upon buying it. But, since then, I built some knowledge, and want to do it myself.
On my Peugeot I used the NextZett No. 3 (Polish) and NextZett No. 4 (Sealant).
On my Megane I am not sure if I am going to keep with the NextZett, or change to Meguire's.
Nevertheless, this video gave me the confidence I needed!
Cheers mate!
That's so nice to see. It's what makes you happy. White cars can be hard graft so well done. As long as you keep on top of it with something like the ceramic wax your always have that nice glossy shine.
I'm so pleased to have helped ☺️
Great content. My Son is just starting out and he gets a lot of knowledge, tips and enjoyment from your vids. Just like to say thank you.
That's amazing truly blessed to hear that
Thank you you have helped me so much a have a machine polisher but never used it so I will try this method first ❤👍👍
I would say do the whole car. The satisfaction for doing it and making an older car look great is fantastic! Just hand polished the neighbours car the other day and, for a non car person, where over the moon with the results!! That was with SRP though.
Yeh SRP is great for those instant shiny car moments.yeh I may do the car and find a way to fit it in to a video
The bonnet says everything! Just basics and little hard work is all matters ! Love the output ! 🖤
Thanks mate. Put work into something it's good but not the same as putting love into it 👏
Hey buddy, greetings from Miami Florida. Thank you so much for teaching me how to take care of my car. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much 🙏
Love this channel ! You are an awesome, no nonsense guy ! Thank you !
Thank you 🙏🙏
"Ya get through so many cloths sometimes you just forget....W****S", looooooooool
Good stuff Dave, I'm enjoying your content 👍
I used the same process apart from I had the Ultimate Wax rather than Ceramic Wax.
All done by hand on the wifes white car, it was hard work!!
Good tip on the polish, I wish I knew not to leave it on for long. If you do, I used a cloth dampened with ONR.
When it comes to doing my car I've got myself a DA polisher 😜
Nice one thanks for watching mate
As far as hand compound/polishing goes for light swirls and scratches, would this be good enough for paint correction or would this be considered more paint enhancement? Awesome vid btw, subscribed recently 👌
Hello Steven, If your using this by hand then you wont get the same results as a machine polish and never will but in terms of being used as a paint enhancement then yes it will help. It's not the quickest method but many people myself included still use this method! 😁
Great vid, brother! This helped out a lot.
Great 👍 video. I’m now convinced to try doing it w/o machines and also it’s not a complicated process as other long videos show. Thanks 🙏
Thanks mate
Love the content again, not over complicating things as usual, would the liquid ceramic go well with soft 99 Fusso or BH double speed wax as I loads of these left ?
Thank you Richard. I've not personally tested that so I couldn't say how it would react but applying either over the compound or Polish would definitely work well 👌
I LOVE YOUR ACCENT. I could listen to you speak all day hahaha. :)
😂 I'm sure your joking. I sound like David Beckham with his nuts in a vice lol
@@epicautomotivedetailing was that vice or posh spice 🤔..
Great uplaod again
Can you use compound on your bumpers ..ive a black corsa an it's a nightmare already an its only a few weeks old.
I’m going to follow your process this weekend and I’m excited to see the outcome 🙏
Update
I followed this process and I'm in love with the outcome. I highly recommend the 3 products in this video because it really works.
Wonderfully honest video. Great job.
Thank you
Best video I've watched, straight to the point, I have just 2 question's can you use the command with a machine and once thr scratches etc have gone can I use a machine with just the polish and no compound im new to this whole polishing thing but willing to get started. Just absolutely no idea as to what can be used with a polishing machine 😰😂
Machine is definitely the best way moving forward but buffing by hand will work to a certain extent so u can remove light scuffs
I think im getting this 3 products for my car. Thank you for your advices. Question now is how often should i do this on my car. Thanks ones again..
I'd say top up every 4-6 months with ceramic wax and maybe in-between use a quick detailer. I've not done multiple layers for regular clients yet
Great video as always !
Well edited, and super informative.
Much appreciated! thanks
Awesome video again, will be doing this to my Kuga Before I sell it, get maximum value 👌🏻. If the compound and polish got onto the plastics, does it come off easy like the ceramic?
Compound does make stains but easy to remove
I actually can't see the difference, but it looks amazing. I just bought the compound, and I'm going to try to get out a few scratches with it. Thanks!
Give it a go it's great all rounder
@@epicautomotivedetailing hi can u use the megs compound on the rear lights to get the swirls out is well..
I watched few videos, but for some reason, this one one gave me the best understanding how to shine my car.
I will get this products, and next weekend I will make my little miata very happy
Thank you
Love this ❤️
A recent subscriber because as I'm working through your videos I know you've got people like me, a regular bloke who wants to keep his car looking good but without the cost of spending loads on equipment etc 👍
Hello you will love my next video cheap Vs expensive wheel brushes coming next week
Great video mate, I’ve never hand polished and scared to try machine polishing so perfect video. Very helpful!! Daft question...is there just one I could use or all or what’s best to start practicing etc? Dave. 👍👍🙌
My pleasure Dave, I'd say as long as you have compound and the polish you can get great results. One note the polish really needs to be taken off straight away and done in small areas at a time👌
Epic Car Show Detailing yes noticed that on video..😨😬 thank you appreciated legend 😁
Epic Car Show Detailing quite time consuming then. I’m getting a black van going to practice on that 🤩 cheers Dave
@@daveroberts703 Just work on small sections at a time and you will be fine my friend!
Epic Car Show Detailing thank you 🙌👍
No feathers ruffled from this pro detailer! GREAT video for those looking to DIY but intimidated by thoughts like "i'll ruin my paint".
Try this especially if you're on a budget or afraid to try it.
Thank you, mate.
thanks Paul 🙏
Another spot on video fella 👌
Thanks mate
Watching a few of your videos , great advice and information , you have been a great help , Thanks for sharing,
Thanks Graham sorry for very late reply. catching up on messages now
i have a machine polisher but i always prefer to do my car by hand its so much more therapeutic and satisfying 😊
Totally agree less noise. Can't beat a good hand job 🤣
Thank you so much for making “car detailing” simple to understand. I just bought the same products and gonna try this method.
But I’ve got a question..
There are quite a few clear coat scratches and swirl marks on my 2006 Nissan X-trail and was wondering if its ok to use two passes with the ultimate compound before going to the polishing stage?
Yes just bare in mind you wont get the same results as a machine polisher sadly
Absolutely, you can do this by hand, with excellent results. That is one fabulous product!
Love your vids, real world stuff
Keep ruffling those feathers Dave! You'll only upset those with a false high opinion of themselves anyway!
Thanks mate appreciate it.
I would like to see how to compound, polish and wax on a full car by hand.
I'm contemplating that for a video 🤔🔥
Very good video on detailing by hand! 😎👍
Thanks this hand polishishing was what I was looking for to properly do my sailboat. I’ve polished many times - but never properly. I had new striped added to my 42 ft boat and the polisher nicked them a few times. I know I am in for a workout - it's better than going to the gym Your instructions were excellent
Nice video .
W⚓ LoL 😂
Hey, I am always interest in what type of towels you experts 💦 use and would like to hear something
like, "blah blah blah the wax using a plush 310 GSM or low pile duel side etc. It's hard to see on the video and I always buy the wrong cloth for the job 😂
Also with the application microfibre, could you use a white terry version as I note over the Counter they can come in s 3 pack. Microfibres/Terry/Foam.
👍🏼🇦🇺
Hello my towels i use are from a company called autosmart in the UK. These days you can tell which ones will let you down.I know costco do yelow cloths that are sold globally which i used to use on polishing. I see what you mean yes ill make a note to mention different cloth piles etc thanks for helping me get the right information out. Yes any type of microfibre pad works well for this . Ive used many and the foam yellow pads are good and cheap
I'm ready now to attack my own car with confidence. I would have liked to see a better"before" shot to see the swirls and marks you removed. Good work tho.
Thanks James. This done a while ago. Will make a newer version with better camera soon
This is the first CZcams video I've saved n downloaded....ever. Thank you for your demo. Off to the store I go to restore my car, my babies, paint.
Thanks so much. I have a new video out in half and hour 😁
Brilliant videos man very helpful
Thanks Shane appreciate it
'' All the rock chips are there i don't see the Great thing about it''😁😁😁
Thanks for watching 🙏
Claying isn't optional.
Thank you. Very real world detailing for your average person who doesn't have tools just hands. Great video!
Glad it was helpful! thanks
@@epicautomotivedetailing I just finished detailing my car today with ultimate Mcguire clay bar /compound /polish / liquid wax all by hand and it looks AMAZING WOW. thank you for your help and videos!

Glad you liked it! Thank you
exactly the video i needed, thanks a lot!

Thank you very much for an informative video that’s actually doable. I’m looking forward to giving my Golf R a good shine!
Thanks David 🙏
I used autoglym products in the exact same way by hand and the results were amazing, great to see the meguiars stuff works too, love their products!
You can't go wrong with either my friend. Thanks for watching
Great video mate. Can't wait to do this on my Alfa!
Thank you
That was awesome this gives me the confidence to try it on my truck after seeing you explain the entire process..
Thank you..
Thanks Very much
Great video and well detailed 👌
Thank you Terry
Another great video Dave - loved the description about people who comment about not taking the labels off the mcrofibre cloths hahahaha. Also appreciate your honesty about not needing a whole host of car care products and equipment to make a real difference to a car's appearance. That Meguiars Ultimate Compound looks a good buy. A few years ago - decades more like, I remember compounding a freshly repainted car by hand to get rid of the orange peel and bring some shine to the freshly painted panels. There wasn't the range of stuff that there is today so used the trusty Farecla G3 rubbing compound paste followed by T-Cut or Brasso with Simoniz liquid diamond polymer sealant to finish. It was knackering and it's probably fair to say car care products have moved on somewhat, but nether the less those products and some elbow grease made the car look great.
Thanks Karl, I remember G3 used to always powder up. Was a nightmare. Meguiars really know how to keep it simple and effective 👌
Great video bro..
Will be very helpful.
Thanks.
Thanks for watching 😊
Smashed it again Dave 👍 Well done mate 😉
Thanks so much. As long as it helps people then I'm happy 🙂
Always helpful and informative 👍 BTW Ford S Max ? Thats CZcams money that is 😎💰💰
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you very much for sharing your skills with us.

hi and thanks so much im about to do my 1st cut and polish tomorrow using these products, i found the video very helpful so so hopefully it will work out fine for me cheers.
Needed this video to make my self feel better about not machine polishing. I can’t be arsed with it!!
Thanks mate. Glad to have helped. I'll upload some pics on Instagram to show u how it looks today
Really nice video, I bought two of them and let see how I will do it in my car. Thanks and keep making videos as well.
Thanks very much my friend

Thank you Richard. We live on a farm so there will be lots of snow foam tractor videos coming up very soon
@@epicautomotivedetailing 🇬🇧👍🏻
Great video Bud 😀No messing around job done 👍👍😀😀
Thank you mate
I used to detail cars 20 years ago. and i'll tell you what you hit the nail on the head, most of customers are not looking for perfection in a paint finish, most of my customers just wanted a well done interior (100% cleaned) and a wash polish and wax--i never used compound.
Thank you. My first car is metallic black and I didn’t know how hard it’d be to keep it looking nice (and don’t want to take a machine to it!). Really well explained, looking forward to giving this process a go
How did it work out? Did you have swirls or holograms? Did the Ultimate Compound remove it by hand?
thank You for posting a honest video for the average user
Great video mate
Thank you
Nice vid. Looks really good
Thanks mate yeh I looked at it this morning and it's gleaming. I should of Done the whole lot but guess that means I could do another video on it 😁
Thanks for this video brotha! Cheers from miami, florida
Hello Miami ☀️
Good video mate 👍🏼
Thank you
The first time I used the polish was on a car that was a little older and I did not clay bar or compound. I applied the polish to a large area and it dried and I didn't think I was ever going to get it off. I came here to watch the compound but I am doing all of the steps in your video. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks so much
Wicked video mate!! I need to do this for my car, as it's going into a show soon!
Thanks very much! Very clearly and expertly explained.
Thank you i also used this on the vauxhall corsa video i uploaded last week which looked amazing. Well impressed with the compound
@@epicautomotivedetailing Excellent, I'll check out the video!
Great job 👏 got this product today and going to try on couple of scratches and scuffs this week.
Thanks very much :)
I love it nice and easy . Great results
Yeh it's a brilliant all rounder
Good video. I have gone from a polishing worrier to a polishing warrior !! I have just ordered the Meguiars Ultimate compound and wax to do my car. I have a 2014 white Fiesta. The paintwork is in really good condition.... apart from swirls, and I want to have a go at getting them out. This video has given me the confidence to have a go. I don't want to spend money on a polisher if I am only going to polish the car every couple of years.
Thank you 🙏
